*Running full pelt into the Rosenberg Institute and screeching to a halt at the site of a NEW UPDATE*

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh!:applause She's back, da pip is back! And in pure celebration of that fact *hopping up and doing an extended dance with full choreography and elaborate costuming* :banana :dance :banana :dance :banana

Now for the update...

Oh wow. Oh pips, you have outdone yourself. That was truly beautiful. I just love how you write these two characters, the way they interact, their dialogue, their though processes, everything. It's so detailed and intricate and just feels so right! I love that Tara was pining so badly and fretting over using the key. Also love the exchange of notes! So very cute. As for Chapter Four, where can I get a copy of this book? Now I wanna know what happens at the end of Chapter Five dammit!

Thank you for gracing us with your talent once again in this update pips! Much love and hugs for you! :love :bigkiss :love

:heart Michaela

PS Can't wait to hear Tara's rundown for Harris! :kdevil

Hey Pips,

Sorry to hear about the insomnia. I was up for a while last night making some planning changes to my latest story so I can relate but I feel excited today rather than frustrated.

Anyway the update is wonderful. I was so worried when Tara left the notes on her desk that Anne will enter her room and find them and I guess that could still happen but this update certainly removed that from my mind.

I love the way you are portraying their slow and loving exploration. I can hardly imagine not taking off my clothes! I mean really! Wow and wow. So nice to see them exploring skin. Chapter four indeed! Now I wonder what's at the end of Chapter 5? Tee hee. Well done.

I love Chapter Four. A lot :drool May it be bookmarked and frequently revisited.

It also occurs to me that this could be an acceptably non-embarrassing way for Tara to fulfil her promise to Harris. She can just look smug when next they meet, and say "Chapter Four." :D

Again, wonderful writing, combining raw passion with a voice that sounds totally authentic for the time period. The love and lust between our girls comes across so strongly :bow And their exchanging notes was very sweet :heart

That was a wonderful part...anticipation paid off with great rewards. I think their reading material is much better than mine - I'm sitting here with some really dry standards that I've gotta catch up on...feh, sometimes life is unfair. I hope they get to that bit in chapter five soon. I'm sure it will be just as pleasurable and entertaining.

Insomnia and I are old acquaintances that meet too often so I know how that goes...try to take care of yourself. Lovely.

I keep writing and deleting, writing and deleting. I can't find words to describe how wonderful the update was, so sweet, so loving, so passionate. Love Tara's thought process when she debated whether to use the key, I was thinking, it's a no brainer! The notes and the frantic kissing in the passage, so cute! And how tender Willow's touch was, awwww. Can't wait for Tara to return to favor :) !

You've done it again, that was wonderful. I don't think I blinked the whole time I read this update. And by the time I finished my nose was like 2 inches from my monitor.

I love the way you describe the awakenings these girls are experiencing. 'Chapter 4' was awesome, and I can't wait until they get to 'Chapter 5.'

Oh, uh. Ahem.

Wow? Yeah. Wow!

Liked the pace of this update with the hurried rushing around with the doors and then the slower, sensual, sexual scene. I like how you convey the love that they share through subtle looks and touches and also with the sexual situations. Like how you have Tara too shy to say what she wanted to try, but rather she referred to the chapter number. Clever and fitting for her. And also very fitting that Willow would have the book memorized cover-to-cover. Yery nice update.

Chapter Four again? Hmm. Makes me wonder what the last paragraph of Chapter Five discusses. :hmm

Wonderful update! I love your use of language. It's not convoluted 19th century speak whcih can get pretty florid but formal enough to really fit the period. Thanks to Harris for getting our two girls together. And :willow and :tara together without clothes was just :drool

Pipsqueak, my dear, this update was so good, I take back all the bad things I ever said about you when you weren't in chat.:wink So glad that you've broken through your smut shyness with such a vengeance, and if that's all you want to write from now on, you have my total support. *hands Pips a support bra, support hose, and industrial-strength girdle* See?

Actually, as much as I enjoy the smut, I really love the way you show how they communicate with each other: verbally, non-verbally (the looks over dinner), and physically. There's already a great deal of trust between them, but it's nice to see Tara in particular struggling to express herself...very realistic, both in terms of the character and the time period. It's all very romantic and sweet, but you also manage to throw in some wonderfully dry humor.

I just love the use of the chapter numbers. Very discreet and very cute. It really is amazing how well you have made Willow and Tara fit into this era. It's a sad comment on today that it is far easier for Willow and Tara to marry in the 19th century as "Will" and Tara than it is today in the US. Whatever direction you take it, can't wait to :read

Greetings!

Grateful that it still seems to be smut's birthday! Can it please be smut's birthday every day? You had me worried for a while, not updating forever...

It's so nice to encounter a lady with both the inclination and the talent for educating a person in the ways and manners of the era. Naturally I read this story with the sole purpose of furthering my knowledge of history... It has nothing whatsoever to do with the images of soft, white, curvy flesh being released from corsets and petticoats into lamp lit nudity... No ma'am, certainly not!:D

The thirst for knowledge is a noble pursuit. Update soon, please. Still totally brilliant...:flower :flower :flower

Note – Well Kittens, it’s been a while. So sorry for the long wait. My work and personal life have kept me very busy. On the upside, I am very happy and very, very lucky to have fallen in love with an incredible woman. I could go on and on about her here, but my babbling would probably be longer than the update. Suffice to say, I’m a fortunate gal and life is great. Thanks for your patience kittens and enjoy the update! :peace

The Rosenberg Institute, Part 17

Rated – PG

I woke suddenly from a deep, satisfied slumber to find Willow still pillowed on my stomach, her arms wrapped around my upper legs. The quilt I had weakly pulled over us before drifting off to sleep still covered most of Willow, though it had pooled around her hips. My eyes were drawn to the smooth white skin of her back. My hands followed and languidly stroked Willow’s soft skin there. Feeling my touch in her sleep, Willow burrowed further into my body and murmured against the skin of my stomach. A large smile overtook my face and I sighed contentedly.

I watched Willow for a few more minutes, satisfied to enjoy her breathing and the occasional nose twitch. With an inward groan I rolled my head to the right, noticing the light beginning to peek through Willow’s curtains. I craned my neck further back to the right to read the clock on the bedside table. It was almost 6 o’clock; my normal time to rise. I moved my head back to observe Willow. I allowed myself a few more minutes to enjoy her unguarded face before shifting out from under her body to begin getting up.

“What doing Tara?” Willow mumbled almost incoherently from where her face now lay pillowed on the middle of the bed. Her eyes were still firmly closed, but her brows were furrowed in concentration. I leaned over and softly kissed her cheek, then her wrinkled brow.

“It’s time to wake up baby. The sun will be up soon and it’s already 6 o’clock”.

“Too early. Chickens not up yet… even”.

Willow’s garbled English, coupled with the adorable delivery, made me beam with tenderness. I stroked her red hair slowly a few times before hearing sounds in the hall. Someone was up and moving about, perhaps lighting lanterns. I leaned down again and whispered by Willow’s ear.

“You sleep love, I will see you later.”

“Hummmalright. Love you.” Willow slurred back.

Just as I was beginning to rise to leave through the secret door, a loud knock sounded on Willow’s door. I bolted upright, more scared by Willow suddenly flying up to a standing position than by the rapping on her door.

“Oh my god,” we both hissed at almost the same moment.

Willow’s wild eyes flew to mine. We were both frozen with indecision and fear. The knock sounded again.

“Willow, get your lazy behind out of bed!” Anne’s sharp voice pierced through the thick door as if she were in the room with us.

Willow stood, completely naked and stock still with panic. I acted quickly. Like divine intervention, I spied a large robe hung on a hook near the door. I tip toed over to it and brought it back to Willow. Draping it around her and feeding her arms through it, I began to coach her in a whisper.

“Willow, I think the door will make too much noise if I go through with Anne in the hall. I’ll hide under the bed until you finish talking to her. Now tell her you’re up and will be right to the door.”

Willow stared at me, fluxomed and bewildered.

“Do it!” I hissed, holding her eyes with mine.

“I’m up! Be there! One moment!” Willow yelled in spurts towards the door.

“Good girl. I’m going to hide.” My words sounding more assured then I felt.

Willow nodded and watched me dawn my shift quickly, then scramble under the bed, pulling my dress and petticoats with me. I lay on my side, as still as possible, mostly shielded by the quilt falling on either side of the bed. I saw part of Willow’s feet move hesitantly towards the door, and then heard her open the door slowly. With a rush of fabric, Anne glided into the room, huffing with indignance at having been kept waiting.

“For god sakes Willow, I was standing out there forever. For a teacher you certainly have an awful time with mornings. And my gosh, this room looks like a cyclone hit it. Have you been having nightmares? The sheets are tossed all over the place!”

As she spoke Anne had moved closer to the bed, grasping a corner of the quilt in her hand and shaking it for emphasis. I held my breath, fearful that she would discover me. When she strode away, presumably to flounce down on the chair in the corner, I slowly let my breath out.

“What do you need Anne, I would have been down to breakfast in a little while.” Willow finally spoke. Her voice was thin and strained. Willow then sat on the bed, facing the chair that I assumed Anne sat in.

“I needed to speak with you privately first. I went into my office early this morning to pick up some papers I needed to go over at breakfast. The place was ransacked.”

“Broken into?” Willow wondered in a confused voice.

“Well I assume so, but the lock wasn’t damaged and nor was the door.”

“Ransacked? It was totally tumbled?” Willow asked again.

“Well I may have exaggerated,” Anne conceded “but my papers were out of place and some of the drawers had been riffled through. I can just tell these things.”

“Was anything missing?” Willow questioned, shifting on the bed to tuck her feet underneath her body.

“I don’t know,” Anne sighed “Not that I can tell. You know most of the things in that office are your father’s or brother’s… god rest their soul.” Anne’s voice ended in a wisp and a tremble.

“Do you think it could have been one of the girls? They’re a wiley bunch this year. Agatha managed to glue all my notes together while I was reading in the library and I didn’t even notice until I got up to leave. You know, I think there is something sinister about that one-“

“Willow, she’s twelve!”

“Oh, as if we weren’t devilish at twelve Anne.”

“Good point. Well I just wanted to tell you. I will ask around and see if any of the girls knows anything. Would you do the same?”

“Of course.” Willow agreed sagely.

“And Tara,” I froze in sheer terror, “Yes, I know you’re under the bed. Can you do the same?”

After several interminably long moments of the tensest silence known in my lifetime, I answered.

“Y-yes,” a squeak of panic spewed forth from my mouth.

“Good. Well I will leave you both to get decent then. Tara, please come see me in the Library before breakfast.”

I heard no response from Willow, who I assumed was still perched on the bed. I did hear Anne rise, though it was hard with the pounding in my ears. I watched her small boot encased feet walk across the carpet, and I heard the door open and close quickly. I did not move for what felt like eons. Suddenly, Willow’s head appeared upside down over the side of the bed, her eyes wide and dilated.

“Tara, are you alright?”

I didn’t respond initially. The shock of having been so casually discovered by Anne had rendered me mute.

“Tara, did she break you? Oh my god you’ve gone into physical shock!”

At Willow’s outlandish declaration, I burst out laughing, the tension flying from my chest in a loud set of giggles. The absurdity of it all washed over me and I could not stop laughing. Moisture gathered in my eyes and I pounded lightly on the wood floor with balled up fists.

“Oh Tara, she made you dumb. That’s alright; I’ll take care of you sweetie.”

Willow’s chivalrous gesture of care only made me laugh harder, as she continued to stare at me with worry and love in her eyes.

Holy Crap! An update! *faint* You waited until Cam went on vacation to post this, didn't you? :devil

I'll be back later to add more significant feedback...I think I have to reread the whole thing so I can remember what's going on. ;)

ETA: That was a nice update, pips! So fun! I love the whole thing from Tara's pov -- it gives a nice, clear-headed slant on the story. Or, at least as clear-headed as one can be when in love. ;)

The view of this particular "morning after" was just delightful. I love Tara's musings as she watches Willow sleep...and then again as she tries to wake Willow. Grumpy Willow in the morning always gives me a chuckle-fest. And Tara hiding under the bed! HA! Too funny! :lol

Again, great update, pips. I can't wait for the next...hope we don't have to wait another 4 months though. ;)

Ohhh Pipsberg!

It's so good to see another update from you. This was a very humorous update. For Willow to jump from one conclusion that Tara was in shock to another absurd conclusion that she had been struck dumb was very funny.

Just out of curiousity, how did Anne know? Was it the not so hushed whispers?

Thanks for the update.

Hey Pipsberg! Good to see you around and posting. All of my favorite authors are falling in love. You, Heather (EasierSaid)... *sigh* Glad to hear that you found someone and are happy. Now on to the update...

Awww...I like how you wrote Willow all incoherent in the morning until Anne interrupted their morning cuteness. I started laughing when I got to the part where Tara thought she was in the clear until Anne said, "Same goes for you, Tara." lol

The end thing was hysterical as well. lol. Lovely update. :) Made my Sunday.

Pips, my darling! That was positively lovely!

I suspect what Anne wants to speak with Tara about is something along the lines of discretion, and similar to Willow's comment to Riley in season four: "If you hurt her, I will beat you to death with a shovel. A vague disclaimer is nobody's friend."

Poor Tara, thinking she's safely hidden away under the bed - more or less - and then Anne's random comment, "Yes, I know you're under the bed..." I can see it, entirely. Anne's entirely nonchalant manner, Tara's frozen in abject terror, Willow just... blank.

Very nice ending. Great way to break the tension without breaking the tension, if that made any sense at all.
