Hi Pam!

So, I started writing this fb before the last chapter and got side tracked. Then you posted a new chapter and totally threw me off. Anyway, here it is... :grin

Wow, Tara is a total horn toad. She looks like a normal person, but she is actually the horniest and apparently wettest, person on the planet, lol. :fallen That shower scene was totally hot. Bravo!

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled feedback. The prior chapter was really great! I loved that got some quality alone time, even if Buffy was a creeper. :p It's nice that she's looking out for Willow and keeping her safe. It really worries me that they are SO worried about being out after dark for any time at all; walking to the car in the driveway, etc. Is Sunnydale really that bad? :hmm

The current chapter...I enjoyed seeing their respective reactions. Especially Tara's...*wink, wink.* I always find it funny when Willow is a twenty something virgin. As if! lol It makes me wonder though how much, if any, experience Tara has since we don’t really know anything about her dating past or otherwise.

Willow and Buffy buying xxx videos??? LOVE IT! I also loved that Willow picked up some ‘pointers.’ Tara popping in to visit was very sweet and a testament to their connection. Their afternoon together was wonderful and dreamy and all those things wrapped into one big love fest, lol. Finally talking and getting the big secret out in the open was great and the push they needed to move forward. And then the end with the double entendres, “slipping it in,” too funny! I suspect it won’t be much longer now:)

REALLY GREAT! Loving this story more and more with every new update!!

Hi all. Thanks again for your great comments. You all keep making this so much fun and I really enjoy hearing from you.

sarahncrys1017: Hi there and congrats on the Dibs! I'm so glad it helped your crappy day. That really makes me feel good. I'm glad you're enjoying the teasing and the characters. I'm having so much fun with them. Yes, that cat is out of the bag now but that is only one bump out of the way. I have a feeling they might run into at least another one. Thanks for the feedback!

Grimm: Hi Grimmy! I'm glad you enjoyed their time together. The early days are so much fun.

Well, Tara is definitely strong. She works out with Faith regularly and has those broad, muscular shoulders...yum. Yes, this is my fantasy Tara. Willow is pretty small, so I could easily picture her lifting her to straddle her lap...again with the yum. Makes my mind go to all kinds of nice places thinking of what else she might be capable of. Thanks again for the feedback!

JustSkipIt: Hi Deb! Yep, that secret is out now, so they don't have to hide that stuff from each other anymore. I'm glad you liked Tara making her surprise visit. She had probably been driving herself crazy for the past couple of days trying to figure out how to talk to Willow and just did it while she had her nerve up and BAM she was in Sunnydale. I'm really glad you're liking it. Thanks for your feedback!

taranwillow4ever: Hi there! I'm really glad you're enjoying. I'm glad you liked their antics in the adult store. It just seemed like something this somewhat ditzy Buffy would do, and Willow would probably try to hide behind a display shelf in embarrassment. Thanks for your feedback!

Missocki: Hi there and thank you! I'm glad you like the teasing. It just seems like it would be a natural progression the more they got to know each other. More coming up very soon. Thanks for the feedback!

sandbarDragon: Hey there. Thank you very much. I'm glad you're enjoying. Yep, it's pretty much fluff at the moment, but you just may be right -- there may be a little angst that's unfortunately heading their way.

I'm glad you like the dog aspect, and they are so wonderful. Thanks for your feedback!

Finey_McFine: Hey Shelby! I'm glad you got caught up. I'm sorry if my updating interrupted your fb, cause we all hate any kind of interruptus.

Oh dear, Tara does seem to be a little on the horny side -- how awful! LOL She also seems to have a little issue with her bodily fluids, doesn't she? Do you think it would be a mood killer if she started wearing Depends?

I'm glad you liked her shower. I had fun picturing it in my head as I wrote it...maybe a little too much fun. Ahem...I better just leave it at that.

You know, when I visualized them shopping in the adult store, I could just see the many faces of Willow. I can only imagine the faces she was making when she actually watched them.
Yes, I know, it's hard imagining Willow in her mid 20's and still "intact", but hey, this is fiction, right?

As for Tara's experience, there may have been a few clues here and there. More will be revealed soon.

Actually, Sunnydale has been a little on the slow side for a while. Remember Buffy's "bored" speech to Giles? She's just used to looking out for Willow, and now for Tara, plus they only live right around the corner from each other. Faith and Tara only know that Sofia has always told them to get out of there before dusk to avoid the baddies and they don't really know that the action has been on a decline lately.

I'm glad you liked Tara's surprise visit. She just had to because it was driving her crazy, and it is nice to get those nasty secrets out of the way. Get ready for their first "real" date.

However, this may be a little premature: "I suspect it won’t be much longer now"

What's that old saying? Don't count your chickens before you have a bird in the hand...or Tara's boob in your hand...or something like that.

Thanks for the feedback!

A big thanks to them and similar groups who do such amazing work for animals.

CHAPTER 12

Tara awoke the next day and everything seemed brighter somehow. She smiled as she opened her bedroom curtains and looked out over their huge yard. The closest house was at least half a mile away, and she loved being out in the country. The sun was shining and it would be a great day for a swim. It would be a great day for anything really.

Faith already had breakfast ready and the coffee on when Tara made it down to the kitchen.

"You're up early today," she said as she poured her cup of coffee and joined Faith at the table.

"Yeah. I'm feeling a lot better. That stomach bug kicked my ass for a couple of days."

"Well, you look better. That pale look just doesn't suit you."

"Thanks...I think. I thought I'd start mowing soon before it gets too hot."

"You need any help?" Tara asked as she helped herself to the eggs and toast.

"Nope, I got it covered."

"Okay if you're sure. I'll go on over and help mom out, then when I get home how about we take a swim?"

"That sounds great. I'll probably be ready for it when I get done with the grass."

Tara glanced over at Faith as they ate and laughed internally as she remembered what Willow had shared with her about Buffy.

"Have you talked to Buffy lately?" She tried to ask nonchalantly.

"I was thinking about calling her today, get everything set for Saturday. I hope she's not freaked by that school. I've seen stuff there that I'll never forget."

Tara looked down into her plate and tried to hide her smile. "I have a feeling she'll be fine."

"What about you and Willow? When are you gonna see her again?"

"I'm not sure. She asked me to go out on a date with her but we didn't pick a day yet."

"You're off Saturday and Sunday, right?"

At Tara's nod, Faith continued. "Well, why don't you two just come to the fundraiser with us? You could always do dinner or something before or after."

"I could give her a call today and see what she says. I'd really like to go to the fundraiser again."

"You gonna wear the shirt I got you at the last one?" Faith teased. Of course she was referring to the shirt she surprised Tara with that read, 'Don't Scare Me I Poop Easily'.

Tara just laughed and shook her head. "Right, Faith. I've just been dying to wear that on my next date. That shirt is reserved for sleeping only, and definitely not when I'm with a very cute redhead."

"Fine, be that way," Faith huffed. "I thought it was cute." Then Tara could've sworn she actually saw Faith pout.

Calls were made and plans arranged for Saturday. Willow was excited about the fundraiser, and even told Tara they had dealt with a poltergeist problem before when they were in high school. It seemed like Willow had led a very exciting life. Her one stipulation was that she was taking Tara out to dinner beforehand as their first "real" date. They would drive to Tara and Faith's, then go separately in the trucks from there.

Saturday came quickly, and once again Buffy was needed to help Willow find the right outfit to wear for the dinner/ghost hunt date.

"Our lives are not like other people's," Buffy said as she handed Willow a long sleeve sweater.

"You got that right."

"I suggest layers, like a hoodie to wear over that for the school. I mean, it's a deserted old school, probably on the dusty side."

"I concur," Willow agreed as she grabbed her favorite sweatshirt. "Okay, I'm ready. I just need to call Xander and remind him to let Chosen out later."

"Are you nervous?" Buffy asked on the way out the door.

"You know, surprisingly I'm not. I'm just excited. I get to see Tara again," Willow practically gushed as she started her car and turned to her friend. "I can't stop thinking about her, Buffy. I've never felt anything like this."

"Really? Cause I couldn't tell with all the goo-goo eyes and the sighing," Buffy teased. "Tara this and Tara that..."

"Say what you want, I don't care. I'm too happy."

"Well, it's about time," Buffy said sincerely. "Just be careful not to get all dizzy in the knees if you two start with the kissing again."

Willow just grinned and sighed...again. "I like the dizzy."

"You like the kisses."

Willow sighed once more. She did like the kisses. No, she actually loved the kisses. She couldn't get Tara's soft lips off her mind and couldn't wait to taste them again. "Okay, enough making fun of my goo-goo eyes. What's up with you and Faith anyway?"

"I talked to her a couple of times this week. Man, she's even sexy on the phone." Now it was Buffy's turn to sigh. "I guess I'll just see how it goes tonight."

"Tara, aren't you ready yet?" Faith yelled through the blonde's bedroom door.

"Um...almost. I'll be out in a minute."

"What the hell are you doing? You've been getting ready for two hours." Faith cracked open the door and peeked in then opened it the rest of the way and stood there with her hands on her hips. "You gotta be fuckin' kiddin' me. Turn that thing off, they'll be here any minute."

"Oh shit. What time is it?"

"It's 10 til 'get your ass downstairs now' o'clock!"

Tara sighed then began to shut down her laptop. "Sorry. I was just gonna read for a minute and lost track of time. I was just getting to the good part," she mumbled.

"Well if you play your cards right, you just might get some 'good parts' in real life."

Tara stood silently and closed the lid once all the programs ended. She hung her head and ran her fingers over the black rectangle then smiled. "There have been some amazing real life 'good parts' with her already, but..." she trailed off with a shrug.

Faith leaned against the doorframe and folded her arms over her chest. "But?" she asked quietly. They had had this conversation many times and she knew how important it was to her friend.

"You know what 'but', Faith," Tara whispered. "The big scary one."

"You really like her, don't you?"

Tara raised her head and looked her in the eyes. "Very, very much. She makes me all..."

"Crazy?" Faith teased and Tara blushed.

"Look, you guys just met, so give yourself time. There's no pressure. If you get to where you think you're ready to get past the 'but'...just talk to her. Now try to relax and have a good time tonight, okay?"

Tara smiled and nodded.

"Good. Are you ready?"

"Yep. All relaxed and ready to have a good time," Tara said confidently. "And thanks, Faith. You're not always an asshole, you know."

The brunette shrugged and started to turn a light pink. "Don't tell anyone or it'll ruin my rep. Now, do you need to go wash your hand before we go?" Faith smirked to cover up her blush.

Tara glared at her then gave her a sly smile as she raised her right hand and looked it over. "I changed my mind...you are always an asshole," she said, then burst out laughing as she chased a screaming Faith out of her room and down the stairs with it.

_______________________

Willow and Buffy arrived right on time and Willow and Tara shared a shy hug and kiss. That was all they dared to do in front of their best friends, who would probably tease them mercilessly.

Faith and Buffy went straight to the school to get everything set up. Different places had donated food, drinks and a variety of prizes for the raffle, so they had a lot of work to do.

Tara helped Willow up into the small 4x4 and snuck another quick kiss before she closed the door. Once out on the road, both girls reached for the other's hand at the same time and smiled as the tingle began.

After some research and consulting Tara, they had decided on a small Italian restaurant not far from the school. Their conversation flowed easily and both girls were enjoying their meals, but Willow was enjoying her view across the table even more. Tara was wearing a slightly low cut V-neck sweater, and Willow had to force her eyes up to meet Tara's several times. She kept chastising herself mentally, but it was a constant battle. <Gosh, look at those...no, don't look at those...look at those beautiful blue eyes...but if that sweater was cut just a little bit lower...No! Eyes...look into her eyes> Up and down, Willow's eyes just kept bouncing until she started to get dizzy, not to mention very warm. She finally decided to try to focus on her food until she could get her eyes to behave.

When she did look up again, she saw lidded blue eyes staring back at her own chest area, and a pink flush had come over the tan skin of Tara's face and neck and seemed to be extending a bit south of there. <Well, if she's looking at mine...>

They both looked up guiltily at the same time and Tara cleared her throat and took a long drink of her ice water. "I like your um...top," she said, almost convincingly. She was surprised she could speak at all considering the thoughts she had just been having about the things she wanted to do to Willow's lovely little breasts.

"And I really like yours. Your sweater's nice too," Willow whispered as she leaned closer.

Tara licked her lips and also leaned forward. "Willow," she whispered huskily, "are you through with your dinner?"

Willow gulped and nodded quickly. She motioned for the check and declined the waitress's offer for dessert. Tara could've sworn she heard her mumble something that sounded like, 'No thanks, I brought my own'.

In a blur, they found themselves locked safely in the truck sharing heated kisses. Willow's lips soon began a trek down the long, smooth neck, kissing, licking and sucking the sensitive skin.

"Oh God...you taste soo good."

Tara groaned as she thought of all the implications of those words. Her hands tightened their grip in red hair and pulled her in tighter. She felt delicate hands on the hot skin of her back, sliding tentatively inward and over her belly, then moving around to her back, then forward again over and over. On their last pass forward, they inched up slightly as Willow's warm tongue slowly descended down the V of the sweater. Willow felt a vibration against her lips as Tara tried to hold back a growl. Her hands were itching to move daringly higher just as a car's headlights flashed through their windshield.

"Oh, God." Willow leaned her forehead against Tara's shoulder and took a few deep breaths. She reluctantly eased her hands away from temptation as she placed a few more kisses back up the blonde's neck. "I'm sorry," she whispered as she pulled further away. She felt long fingers on her cheek turning her back to look into smoldering blue eyes.

"Please...don't ever apologize for making me feel so good," Tara said as she brought their lips together one more time. Willow nodded and swallowed hard at the intensity in those eyes.

"Well, I wasn't really apologizing for that part," she said wryly, "more for the timing and location."

Tara released a deep, throaty laugh obviously still tinged with desire. "Yeah. I guess it wasn't the smartest move, but...it's been too long...and I...I really missed you," she admitted honestly.

Willow's breath caught at the sincerity of Tara's words. She slid her fingers into silky blonde hair and pulled Tara closer until their breath mingled. "I missed you too." Soft, gentle kisses followed until they once again reluctantly pulled apart.

Tara sighed as she started the truck and turned, smiling at the redhead. "Well, I guess we better go see what kind of trouble Faith and Buffy are getting into."

"I shudder to think."

"Is that why you were shuddering?" Tara teased, smiling sexily.

"Definitely not."

Buffy was impressed to say the least, and not just with Faith. The turn out for this fundraiser was much larger than what she had expected. Everyone who attended was asked to donate a bag of dog or cat food, which would then be shared between animal shelters in three counties. She watched as bag after bag was brought in and stacked at the entrance. She could see Faith glowing as she greeted each person with a genuine smile and thanks. Her smile grew even wider as she saw Tara enter with two large bags of dog food thrown over each shoulder. Buffy laughed when she saw her best friend following the blonde, obviously impressed, with a dreamy look on her face. That was until...

"Hey, sexy."

The greeting came from a tall woman with short brown hair that Buffy had noticed milling about earlier. Faith informed her she was a firefighter at her station, and Buffy supposed she could be considered attractive if one found large, rough-looking women their cup of tea.

"Haven't seen you at the gym lately, but you're lookin' fine as usual. Here, let me give you a hand with those," she said as she leered at Tara.

"Uh...hi, Kelly," Tara said uncomfortably as Kelly moved into her personal space to take the bags off her shoulders one handedly and threw them on the growing stack by the door.

Buffy took a quick glance at Willow and immediately recognized the look on her face. The narrowed eyes and the scowl told Buffy that the redhead was probably wondering if this Amazon woman fell into some demon category, and if not, did she really have to stick to the 'I can't slay humans' creed. Buffy's spidey senses however, were not tingling, so she moved quickly beside Willow and shook her head 'no' to her questioning look and heard her mumble something about 'damn slayer rules'.

"We've just been working out at home lately." Tara kept her response short and to the point. Of course, Kelly had been one of Tara's three dates from hell. She still couldn't figure out why she had agreed to go out with her in the first place, aside from the fact that Kelly had pursued her like a rabid pitbull and wouldn't take no for an answer. She sure didn't need this tonight. She was on her first real date with Will...<oh shit>

"Bye, Kelly," Tara said quickly as she turned and walked back to her date, who she could've sworn had steam coming from her ears as she gave Kelly her best death glare.

Tara smirked as she held out her hand to Willow, who she thought was even cuter when she was jealous -- God help her. "Ready, sweetie?" Tara asked as she got the redhead's attention and firmly took her hand. Buffy told Willow she was going to stay up front with Faith, so Willow nodded and let Tara lead her away.

Willow stayed unusually quiet as Tara took her down a long deserted hallway. They took a turn into a dark, empty classroom before Willow realized that this didn't look like any fundraiser she had ever been to. "Where is every..."

Her words were cut off as she found herself pressed against a wall and Tara's tongue vigorously invading her mouth. The intensity of the kiss and Tara's take-charge attitude made her knees start to buckle. The firm grip around her waist and the warm body pushing into her were the only reason she didn't collapse to the floor. She wrapped her arms around Tara's neck and held on as the blonde's tongue danced with her own, the slick muscles sliding and writhing perfectly together. Willow thought she was melting inside as she felt a firm thigh move between her own and gently press into her center. She vaguely wondered if it was possible to pass out from pleasure right before the state flag beside the chalkboard fell out of its holder and clattered across the floor, abruptly coming to a halt.

Willow jumped but Tara held her steady. "It's okay," she whispered as she lightly nipped her ear. "Hello, Mrs. Thompson," Tara called out. Willow watched in amazement as the flag started rolling again coming closer and closer to them.

"What the hell, Tara?"

"She was a teacher here a long time ago. She loved it so much, she decided to hang around." Tara giggled when she saw exactly how big those gorgeous green eyes could really get. "I'll be right back."

Willow slumped against the wall and stared at the blonde as she picked up the flag and put it once again in its holder. "Have a nice night, Mrs. Thompson. Sorry if we disturbed you." Tara took Willow's hand and led her back down the long hallway.

"Tara, what was that back there?"

"I heard that she's just pissed because they took her American flag out of there. There's nothing evil here, sometimes just a little mischievous."

Tara was jerked to a stop as Willow quit walking. "Not that...although that was pretty surprising. The other stuff...before."

Tara ducked her head, slightly embarrassed by her actions. "I'm sorry. I just didn't want anything to ruin tonight, and when I saw how you were looking at Kelly, well...I wanted to take your mind off of it. Did it work?" she asked shyly, looking up through her long lashes.

Willow stepped closer, cupped her cheek and repeated Tara's words from earlier. "Don't ever apologize for making me feel so good." She kissed her tenderly and sighed, then started leading Tara back down the hall. "And yes, believe me...your method worked perfectly. Feel free to use it anytime."

"Cool." Tara's smile was beaming.

______________________

They entered the front area and people were everywhere. They saw Faith and Buffy near the door and headed that way.

"Hey, guys. Did you give Willow a 'private' tour, T?" Faith teased and watched the blush rise to her cheeks.

"Willow met Mrs. Thompson," Tara tried to ignore her and did her best to change the subject.

"Wasn't it awfully dark in Mrs. Thompson's room? All the way down there...out of the way?" Apparently Faith wasn't going to let it go that easily.

Tara squeezed Willow's hand and the redhead joined in to help. "You should've seen it, Buff. The flag came off the wall by itself, rolled around, stopped, then Tara talked to her, and it started rolling again."

"Wow. Sounds a lot better than muddy graves and a horde of wasps."

Noticing the matching raised eyebrows, she tried to explain.

"Our school was a special experience."

"Okay then, let's get this party started!" Faith said as she placed a hand on Buffy's lower back and guided her toward the main room. She took a quick glance at Tara and grinned.

"How was your dinner, T?"

"It was very good," Tara answered, a light blush rising unbidden to her cheeks.

"You sure Willow had enough to eat? Seems to me she might've still been a little on the hungry side," Faith smirked and cocked an eyebrow at the blonde.

Willow and Tara turned to each other with a questioning look as they entered the well-lit main room

"Oops," Willow whispered wide eyed as she caught sight of a light purple mark on Tara's neck.

"What 'oops' are you 'oopsing', Will? It's not like our shirts are inside out or anything...yet," she added on with a sexy grin.

Willow needed a couple of deep breaths to cool herself down after the visuals that comment brought to her mind. She cupped a hand around the blonde's ear and whispered softly. "Hickey, baby. Just a little one. I'm sorry."

Tara pulled back feigning shock, then smiled at the term of endearment. "Really? It's my first," she said almost proudly. She pulled Willow against the wall away from the crowd and spoke quietly. "Next time, just make it lower," she said with a wink as they moved toward the table where their friends were now sitting.

Willow was surprised her legs still worked considering they once again felt like jello. <Damn, you're killin' me>

Tara pulled a chair out for her, smiling as she plopped into it. "Better?"

"Much, thanks."

Tara sat beside her and reached under the table for her hand, then rested them together on her thigh.

"So, how's this thing work exactly," Buffy asked as she turned to Faith.

The brunette wrapped her arm behind Buffy's chair and casually leaned her body closer. "The tables in the back -- free food and drinks, all donated by local businesses."

"Cool," Buffy said enthusiastically.

"All the stuff on those tables there," she pointed to the front tables up by them, "all donated and will be raffled off in a little while. I'll start selling the tickets after we eat. Lots of autographed stuff, collectibles from the Ghost Adventure guys -- they always come through for us. The tables along the wall -- all that stuff's for sale."

Buffy and Willow were growing more and more impressed at the amount of work and love these people had put into this whole affair to help the shelter animals.

"That big jar at the end of that table is for donations. Then once we're done with everything here, they take groups through the school to do the paranormal investigations. There's always some type of activity here. It's pretty cool."

Faith poked Buffy lightly in the side. "I hope you don't scare easily."

Buffy just laughed as she looked into the deep brown eyes. "I think I'll be okay -- as long as you're with me," she flirted openly.

Willow choked and tried to muffle a giggle at Buffy's blatant actions. Tara released her hand and squeezed the warm thigh beneath. "What?"

"Can we get something to drink?"

Tara nodded, took her hand again and followed her to the back tables. When they were far enough away from their friends, Willow pulled her a little closer. "Buffy hasn't used a line like that since high school. It's just kinda funny to see her acting like that again. She's totally smitten."

They both turned to see their friends heading their way, huge smiles spread across their faces. Tara nodded and leaned into the soft red hair. "Believe me, it's mutual. I've never seen Faith so happy."

Once everyone was finished eating, Faith took the floor to a big round of applause. She thanked them all again for coming and contributing whatever they could to this important cause, then she began selling the raffle tickets to what Willow estimated close to 200 people in attendance in the old school.

Willow handed Tara a hundred dollar bill with the request to 'pick us a winner'. Buffy had done the same with Faith before she started the raffle. Tara sat up front helping her while Willow and Buffy walked around looking at all the items for sale at the other tables. They noticed a group of kids clustered around one area and listened to hear what had them so excited.

"I'm getting at least two -- one for each wrist!"

"Oh, me too!"

"I want the necklace. It's soo cool."

"Oh, me too!"

"I'm getting one of everything. Look! She even autographed the shirts! OH MY GOD!!"

When the squealing kids finally cleared away to pay for their treasures, Willow and Buffy's jaws dropped when they saw what were obviously the favorite items for sale -- leather wrist bands, rainbow wrist bands, necklaces, tank tops, t-shirts, autographed photos of Faith and Bubba, and books.

"What the hell?" Buffy said in shock.

Willow elbowed her friend in the ribs. "Hey, Buff, looks like your girlfriend's kinda famous. I guess in all the excitement, I forgot to google her."

"I had no idea. Look at all this! It's...it's her tattoo...on everything. That's so cool. And a book -- she actually wrote a book!" Buffy picked up a copy of 'Rescue Them All Or Die Trying' and began to leaf through it. Willow thought she'd need to get a napkin soon to catch her friend's drool if she didn't close her mouth soon. The Slayer was staring at a picture of Faith in her uniform with Bubba by her side. "Wow" was all she could keep repeating.

"This is pretty amazing," Willow agreed. She picked out a blue t-shirt for herself and a copy of the book and turned back to Buffy. "What are you getting?"

Buffy finally pulled her gaze from the picture and turned to her with a very determined look on her face.

"Her."

Once the raffle was over, each girl having won at least one item, it was time for the ghost hunt to begin. On their way out of the room, Buffy saw Faith give the item she'd won to a little blonde preteen girl sitting in a wheelchair by the door with her therapy dog. The look on the little girl's face was priceless, and she was even more impressed as the brunette leaned down to autograph it.

They headed upstairs following their group leader. Tara held a flashlight in one hand and Willow's hand in the other. Faith also carried a flashlight, and as the rest of their group entered the first darkened classroom, she turned to face Buffy and held the light under her chin.

"Are you scared, little girl?" she said teasingly. Buffy pulled the flashlight down then brought her hand up to stroke the strong jawline. She looked intently into the dark brown eyes and smiled.

"Not one bit," she whispered as she leaned in.

Faith stood still in shock for about 1.2 seconds before wrapping her arms around Buffy's neck and returning the kiss. They slowly pulled apart and Buffy opened her eyes to see Faith slowly lick her lips, which only made her want to kiss them again.

"Mmm...you have the softest lips," she whispered leaning in to capture them again, then she jumped back with a start. She raised her eyebrows and smirked at the brunette. "Did you just pinch my ass?" she asked accusingly...not that she really minded.

Faith just laughed as she wove her hands in blonde hair.

"In case you didn't notice, my hands are up here."

"But, I know I felt..."

Faith just laughed again and yelled down the dark hallway. "Hey, Fred, keep your hands off my girl!"

Buffy looked behind her seeing nothing but darkness. She turned back to Faith to see her pull a device from her back pocket. "Watch this." She pushed a button and a row of lights lit up, then only one stayed lit. She moved down the hall a few steps and slowly, one by one, more lights stayed on until they were all lit up to the last one staying solid red.

"There you are, you rascal. Not that I blame you, but her ass is off limits, got it?" The lights flickered off one by one. "Thanks, Fred."

Faith stepped back over to Buffy, who was leaning against the wall smiling. "Your girl, huh?" the Slayer asked coyly.

Faith wrapped her arms around the little blonde and the next thing she knew, she was flipped around and pressed to the wall with fingers running wildly through her hair. Buffy finally pulled away from the kiss panting. Faith smiled and Buffy about melted as those dimples emerged once more.

"My girl."

"Cool."

"So he really pinched your ass?!" Willow asked her best friend again.

"Oh yeah."

"Yeah, it was good ol' Freddie," Faith piped up. "He likes the ladies. He's got mine a couple of times, and he likes to pull hair too."

"Is that what happened to it?" Tara gave Faith a knowing smile as she watched her attempt to smooth it down.

"Not exactly," Faith said smiling as she reached for Buffy's hand.

A couple of hours later, the girls decided they'd had enough ghost adventures.

"Well, that was definitely interesting. I had a great time, Faith," Willow told her as they left the haunted school.

"I'm glad you guys came. I had a great time too," she said as she squeezed Buffy's hand. "Did you guys see anything else 'scary'?" she asked as they reached the trucks.

"Well, the lockers rattled in the north hall again."

"And those chains shook in the gym," Willow added.

"And I saw an idiot trying to corner Tara in the bathroom," Buffy mumbled under her breath.

"Buffy..." Tara tried to shush her, but it was too late.

"What?! Who cornered you? Why didn't you say something?"

"I was going to tell you later. It wasn't a big deal, I promise," Tara said squeezing both of Willow's hands.

"Was it that lunatic Amazon again? Cause I've got a few choice words for her!" the irate redhead said emphatically.

Tara gave her an arched eyebrow and her lop-sided smile. Willow's jealousy was just so cute...and kinda hot.

"Willow, you are just too adorable sometimes. Yes, it was her, but it was taken care of. She tried to ask me out again, and I explained that I was seeing someone when Buffy came in and uh..."

"Scared the shit out of her."

"Yeah...that," Tara giggled. "She told her that I was dating her best friend, and if anyone messed with either of us, that she would spank their ass into the next county. Then she proceeded to pull a door off a bathroom stall and shook it at her."

"Buffy, you didn't," Willow pretended to scold her while she was grinning wildly. She was just sorry she wasn't there to see it.

"Um...poor workmanship? I put it back on," the Slayer said with a shrug.

"Damn, B, I gotta get me some of them Wheaties you're eatin'. So, are we meeting you guys back at the house?"

"Um, in a little while. I wanted to show Willow something first."

Dibs!

I love that you posted this while I was still lying in bed this morning:) Such a nice way to start the day!

So, lot's going on in this update. Poor Tara had a stomach virus. Too bad Willow wasn't there to hold her hair, lol. Big yay for Tara asking Willow to the fundraiser. I'm glad they decided to split the evening and have their first "real" date alone. As I've said before, I'm not a big fan of the Faith-y one, but I do enjoy yours and I very much like her interactions with Tara. They have great chemistry!

You made me LOL with Tara almost being late because she was reading fan fic on her computer. I can't even count how many times I've done that. I'm guessing you wrote that from experience??? :hmm

The date was cute and their after dinner dessert even hotter! These two desperately need to get laid. :whip

The haunted school and ghostly encounters was a nice touch. Those sort of tours are always fun. So Faith is an author? Nice surprise and big "ah ha" moment for Buffy as well. Speaking of...pulling the stall door of and shaking at the skank...very funny and so Buffy. :grin

Now I guess we all have to wait a week to find out exactly what Tara wants to show Willow. I think I speak for all of us when I say...BOOBS! :grin :fallen

Great update. I agree with Tara, jealous Willow would be a turn on. Glad to see the air has been cleared between Willow and Tara concerning the truth about Sunnydale. Can't wait to read about Buffy and Faith's reaction when they learn the other is a slayer also.
Looking forward to reading more.

Finey_McFine -- Hi Shelby and congrats on the dibs! I'm glad you enjoyed starting your day reading this story. For you to say you like this Faith really means a lot coming from you. I was trying to show how differently she could've turned out under different circumstances. And yes, she wrote a book. She was really affected by rescuing Bubba and wanted to share that experience with as many people as she could to carry on the philosophy of saving as many unwanted or abused dogs as possible.

Yes, I must admit to being late or almost missing something because of reading fanfic. My gf has told me many times that I need a fanfic intervention. lol It's quite a lovely addiction, and Tara does enjoy it. More on that coming up soon.

Buffy does realize how much she wants Faith now and finally crosses the bridge into girlstown for her. She does seem to have trouble hiding her abilities at times, but she was trying to get a message across to Skanky Kelly, and I could just picture her doing that. I wonder if Kelly is too dense to pick up on the message though, hmm?

I'm glad you enjoyed the first part of their date, but the night isn't over yet. Tara does want to show her something, but unfortunately for all of us, it's not what you were hoping just yet. Thanks for the feedback!

Missocki -- Hi there! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, they're all getting some smoochies. More coming soon! Thanks for your feeback!

love_2003 -- Hi there! Yes, the air is cleared and no more hiding things for the two of them. Buffy and Faith just might be figuring stuff out pretty soon too. Thanks for the feedback!

CHAPTER 13

The purple 4x4 cruised down the highway then turned off on the exit heading toward Tara's house. Tara could tell Willow was still not very happy about the whole Kelly ordeal, but after once again explaining that it all worked out okay, and repeatedly kissing the redhead's freckled knuckles, she was relieved to see a smile finally return to that cute face.

"One of the perks of having the Slayer for your best friend," she acquiesced.

"And I told her I was seeing someone and that I wasn't interested...again," Tara reiterated. So, we're all done with that right? Nobody here but you and me? No more pouty face?"

"I wasn't pouting," Willow retorted with an even bigger pout, causing the blonde to chuckle.

"Sweetie, if pouting was an Olympic sport, you'd get a gold medal."

"Really? I always was an overachiever," Willow admitted proudly.

"Oh yeah. Believe me, if I wasn't driving, I'd be over there nibbling all over that pouty little lip."

Willow leaned over as far as her seatbelt allowed. "You can always pull over," she whispered suggestively.

"As tempting as that is, we're almost there."

Willow looked around and realized that she wasn't sure where 'there' was. Even with her limited knowledge of the area, she was pretty sure they should've gotten to Tara's already.

"Almost where?"

"Just a little surprise," Tara said slyly as she turned onto a dirt road and drove across a small, rickety one-lane bridge that had seen better days, and Willow was pretty certain that those days were probably during the Great Depression.

The narrow dirt road curved up and around, with a hill along one side, a creek on the other and tall pine trees scattered on both sides. Tara maneuvered expertly, missing most of the pot holes as they climbed higher.

"Wow. We don't have roads like this in Sunnydale," Willow commented as she took in the scenery.

"And we don't have vampires like Sunnydale," Tara said as she pulled the truck over to a flat, grassy area and put it in park, "so I thought we could do something you probably don't get to do at home."

"And what's that?" Willow asked as she unhooked her seatbelt and slid over toward the blonde. Tara opened her door, got out and extended her hand.

"Follow me," Tara said as she led her around to the back of the truck and opened the tailgate.

"Anywhere," the redhead whispered softly.

Tara climbed up and retrieved three sleeping bags. She opened one, unzipping it all the way and laid it out flat in the truck, then repeated the same with the second one. She folded the last one in half and placed it at the top of the other two for a pillow. She opened a storage box and pulled out two candles in holders and placed one on top of each side of the truck then lit them. She turned to the waiting woman and held out her hand.

"Tara..." Willow whispered with tears in her eyes.

Tara quickly sat on the tailgate and pulled her between her legs hugging her tightly. "Willow, what's the matter, sweetie?" she asked nervously. "Don't you like it?"

"Oh, Tara...no..." she sniffed and hugged the blonde tighter. "I love...I love it. Nobody's ever..." she trailed off, overcome with emotion.

Tara pulled back slightly and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. "I just wanted to give you a chance to relax and enjoy the night, baby," she whispered. "I know it's not fancy, and you deserve so much more..."

She was cut off as Willow cupped her cheeks and captured her lips in a searing kiss. Tara's breath hitched at the ferocity, as the redhead's usually playful tongue was all business tonight. She plundered the blonde's hot, wet mouth, exploring every nook and cranny, tongues dueling as they stroked and swirled.

Tara pulled back panting like she'd ran five miles full speed. "Wow...and wow!" she said grinning from ear to ear. "What do I get when I tell you I have fruit and champagne in the cooler?!"

She was tackled by the laughing redhead but managed to cushion their fall, landing on the pile of sleeping bags.

"Thank you! Thank you!" Willow said as she peppered the blonde's face with kisses. "This is just so perfect," she said as she flopped over onto her back. "A beautiful woman, beautiful scenery, under a clear sky full of twinkling stars...and no threat of a bloody death lurking in the shadows."

Tara leaned over Willow, gently stroking a finger along her cheek. "You're the beautiful one." Willow smiled up at her and slid her fingers into the silky hair.

"Are you happy?" Tara whispered.

"I am so beyond happy, Tara, that I don't even know if there's a word to describe it, and I know a lot of words." She tightened her fingers in the blonde hair and pulled her down, but this time the kiss was slow and tender.

As the kiss grew in intensity, Tara stretched her body half on top of Willow's and slid a hand over her small hip, pulling her closer. Willow moaned as she felt the soft, warm breasts pressing against her, and her fingers ached to explore and experience those full mounds of flesh. Her heart raced at the thought of her mouth welcoming them inside and worshipping every glorious inch. And ohhh those nipples...she could feel their hardness rubbing against her own sensitive nubs sending shockwaves straight to her clit. She remembered how they were begging for attention that day in the hot tub...all firm and round. She was imagining those nipples as her tongue rolled and played with Tara's warm, soft muscle. What would happen when she raked her teeth over the tips? Licked them? Sucked...

<Oh God! She's sucking on my neck. It feels sooo good and I'm already soaked. I don't think I can take much more. If I don't stop this now, I won't be able to. And as perfect as this is, as much as I care for her already and want her, I'm just not ready to...>

"Fuuuuck," Willow groaned and clenched the blonde hair between her fingers as Tara lightly bit down at the juncture of her neck and shoulder. <Oh shit, she stopped. I mean...okay, she stopped. I need to stop...for now>

Tara was lost...in the touch, the smell, the taste of this woman beneath her. From the time she pulled her close and felt the other hip arch up into her center, she was fighting the throbbing sensation that was begging her to rub and push and grind to satisfy the ache between her legs, but she refused to give in. "I can't...I can't," she kept repeating to herself over and over. Then when Willow released that bone-melting moan, it registered in her hazy, lust-filled brain that this was getting out of hand, and fast. But how would she extinguish the raging fire that had her so hot she just knew there was smoke billowing from her overheated center. She clamped her legs together and froze. <Ice...yes, ice is good. I could just dunk my flaming crotch in the cooler and watch the steam rise up until it sizzles out, or...>

She forced herself away from the temptation, smiled at the dazed redhead and placed a soft kiss on her swollen lips. "Champagne?" she asked shakily, and was relieved when Willow nodded. She sat up slowly and took a few deep breaths. She reached into the cooler and immersed both hands into the ice until she felt her body begin to cool. She shook her hands off and pulled out two plastic cups and the bottle of bubbly. She unwrapped the foil, pointed it away from them and shot the cork out towards the trees. In a flash, a hand shot out snatching it from the sky and tucking it away in a pouch.

"Do you hear something?" Willow asked as she sat up and cocked her head.

Tara stopped and listened. "Sirens...firetrucks I think." <Good -- they're close enough to hose me down if my pussy catches fire>

Tara filled the cups half way and handed one to Willow. "To us," she whispered.

"Wait!" Willow nearly yelled as she dug in her pocket. "Can I...do you mind if I get a picture?" she asked, suddenly shy. Somehow she had the feeling that they needed to record the memories of this special day, and that they would put them in their photo albums along with all their other firsts. Well, maybe not all of them.

Tara just smiled and pulled her phone out. "Excellent idea."

Willow propped hers on the cooler, set the timer and made sure it was situated just right. She slid back into Tara's arms, cupped one cheek and they kissed tenderly over and over. They stopped long enough to toast again and Tara took several arm-length shots in various poses. They slowly sipped their champagne in between kisses and laughter, both of them cautious not to let the kisses escalate as they had before. Willow sighed because she knew it was almost time to go.

"I need to call Xander and let him know we'll be home soon."

"You guys really are close, aren't you?"

"Yeah. We've been through a lot together," Willow said as she waited for him to answer.

"Rosenberg residence."

"Xander, you sound so formal and all growed up," she teased.

Tara quirked an eyebrow as she listened and pulled a bottle of water from the cooler.

"How's she doing? Did you feed her? No, you cannot watch that! Or borrow it! No, Xander Harris! I mean it! I...I...we'll talk about this later. Look, we're still here. I'll call you back when we're leaving. Okay, we will. See you soon."

Willow ended the call and flipped over to check the pictures.

"Tara?"

"Hmm?"

"Did you check your pics yet?"

"I can do it now. Why?"

"Well...look," she said as she handed her phone to Tara.

"Oh...my."

"You're seeing it too, right?"

"Oh, yeah. That's...that's...beautiful," Tara whispered in amazement. The picture, though a little dark, clearly showed the two women lost in a kiss with a multitude of little flaming sparks surrounding their heads.

"What is that?" the befuddled redhead asked.

"I...I have no idea. I don't think it's from the stars or the candles."

They checked Tara's pictures, and in every one where they were kissing, those same sparks were illuminated all around them. The pics got put on the backburner as they had more important things to think about at the moment. They snuggled down into the sleeping bags watching the stars, occasionally sharing bites of fruit and, of course, more kisses.

"Thank you for giving me this. It's been perfect," Willow said as she squeezed her tight.

"I...I just wanted to make you happy," she said shyly.

"I am," Willow whispered as she ran her fingers softly along her cheek. "Deliriously happy."

Tara smiled and leaned once more towards those addictive lips. "Me too."

A few minutes and several more tender kisses later, Willow sighed and sat up. "Well, I guess it's about that time. We probably need to go make sure Faith and Buffy haven't destroyed the house...or worse."

"Probably a good idea. We can come back again sometime if you want."

Willow leaned in one more time. "Baby...I want."

They reluctantly packed up all their things and headed back down the narrow dirt road, their hands never leaving the other's.

The two girls pulled into the drive and noticed Faith's truck parked haphazardly beside the garage.

"That's odd. She always puts her truck in at night."

They opened the front door and things got even more odd. A pair of muddy boots and Buffy's muddy shoes lay scattered on the floor just inside.

"Oh crap. I hope they're not..."

Tara stopped as she turned and saw the look on Willow's face. "Tara..." she said shakily as she pointed further into the living room at a pair of blood-soaked jeans beside an equally bloody shirt.

Tara squeezed Willow's hand tighter as they moved slowly through the house and took a closer look. "Oh my God. Those are Faith's."

Willow reached into a pocket and pulled out her trusty stake. "And those are Buffy's," she whispered, pointing her stake at similarly stained clothes on the kitchen floor.

"Is that hers too?" Tara whispered with her eyebrows raised almost to her hairline.

Willow looked at the discarded bra by the back door. "Um, I'm not really sure. What size is it?"

"I don't know, and I'm not picking it up. I just know it's not Faith's."

At Willow's arched eyebrow, Tara explained. "Our laundry gets mixed in sometimes. She either wears sports bras or black push ups."

Just then they heard a shriek from out back and Willow moved to slide the door open.

"Get behind me, Tara," Willow whispered urgently.

"Not very likely," she whispered back. "You get behind me."

"No way. I've got a...a...a stake."

"And what if it's a burglar or a mass murderer and he's got a gun?"

"I go first. I can throw up a shield."

"So can I, so you're not going first," Tara said stubbornly.

"I'm not going second!"

The scene of the two girls by the back door was quickly turning into "Who's On First, Lesbian Style".

"Willow! You weigh 92 pounds. I can pick you up and put you behind me!"

"You wouldn't dare! And...you...you...Hey! How do you know how much I weigh?!"

"The same way you know my bra size," Tara smirked and Willow got a dreamy look in her eyes. "We go together."

"Okay, side by side," Willow smiled and gave the blonde a quick kiss. Taking Tara's hand, she quickly murmured the protection spell she used most often and they ended up having to shuffle sideways through the door so they stayed even, and if their breasts happened to brush together, well...that was just a bonus.

Willow immediately wished that the spell had included temporary blindness when she saw her best friend doing things one should NEVER see their best friend doing. They quickly turned back to face the house, their cheeks turning bright pink.

"Hey, um...Faith?" Tara ventured.

"Oh, hey, T! I didn't hear you come home."

"Yeah...hey, listen, we were just checking to see if you were okay...what with all the bloody mess."

"We're great, guys," Faith answered, then there was squealing and splashing.

"Well, okay then," Tara said, turning to Willow and rolling her eyes. "How about we bring you some towels then, so we can all...you know, talk. Maybe with a little less nakedness?" Tara asked hopefully.

More splashing and then kissing sounds.

"Oh man," Tara grumbled, rubbing a hand over her eyes, as flashes of the heated kisses with Willow came storming through her mind. She glanced over and noticed the flushed look on the redhead's face and her heaving chest. "You guys have 10 minutes!" she yelled, pulling Willow quickly into the house, noticing a wave of her hand as she broke the spell.

<Now what? Take her to the couch, just sit and wait -- no, too dangerous. "Wanna see my bedroom?" God no! The kitchen? Yes. The kitchen is safe. I can control myself there...I hope>

"Hey, Will," Tara said, swallowing loudly, "would you like something to drink?"

"Ice water would be great," Willow said, fanning herself. "Maybe I could pour it over my head," she mumbled.

Tara handed her the water, then took a long drink of her own.

"I um...need to get those towels," Tara said, wondering when her voice had gotten so deep.

"I'll come with you."

<Oh Shit>

Tara managed a nervous smile as she took her by the hand. "Okay. The bathroom's upstairs." <Oh God. The bathroom. Where the shower is. Where I've gotten myself off so many times thinking of her. Oh Fuck. I'm still wet from earlier, now it's getting worse. God, I just want to get these pants off and take a cold shower and...>

"Tara...are you okay?" Willow asked as they walked up the stairs.

"Huh? Yeah...I'm fine."

"You just seem a little...distracted maybe? Oh crap. You're probably tired. I'm so sorry. You probably just want to go to bed. I'll get Buffy and we'll get out of your hair."

<Oh God, now I've made her feel bad, all because I can't control my damn hormones. I can't keep this up.>

"Willow...wait." Tara put a hand on her arm to stop her from going back downstairs. "Please?"

Sad green eyes looked up at her and she felt her gut clench. It was time.

"Can we talk?"

So, they're gonna have THE TALK, huh? I guess it was inevitable. Should be interesting.

Wonder what the bloody clothes are. Faith and Buffy are hilarious!

Can't wait for the next update!

Job well done.

:laugh Can't wait for the talk. It's gonna be funny to read them babble their way thru the virgin talk and even funnier when they realize they were both worrying for nothing!

Who is the blue-hell is catching corks in the tree? Is it the same person that was watching them a few updates back.

I'm trying not to go into paranoid mode :impatient .

I really love Faith and Buffy together in this fic. Will Tara let the Slayer-cat ot of the bag or have they already figured things out for themselves :hmm ?

Great update as usual, Wimpy :bow !!!!

Hmmm, I have many theories on how this little chat will go, but mainly something like this:

"Look, I have to be honest and tell you I'm a virgin. And now that I've met you I'm really starting to reconsider that because you totally get me all hot and bothered - like REALLY hot and and bothered. I'm just not quite ready for that last step, you know?"

"Oh my god! I'm a virgin too! And I soo totally get it, I mean have you seen you? I'm not quite there yet either, so we'll just wait until the time is right, ok?"

"Ok, by the way, I think I love you..."

*sigh* "Yeah? I a little more than think I love you too..."

*coughs*

Maybe not just like that, but who knows, I could be waaay off too, I just love to speculate. :grin

Looking forward to seeing what you do next!

I absolutely love this story. I can't wait for the next chapter. You capture the girls so well.

Thanks everyone. I love hearing from you!

Missocki: Hi there! The big talk is coming up. It's something Tara has been very worried about and finally decides to tell Willow. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to go very smoothly. Thanks for your feedback!

sarahncrys1017: Hey there! Yep, the BIG TALK is coming up. And yes, I would say "interesting" would describe how it goes. There is an angst warning for this chapter if that gives you any clue.

The bloody clothes will be explained and more. Thanks for the feedback!

bluepaintbox: Hi there and welcome to The Kittenboard! I'm so glad you're liking this. Stay tuned...the road's about to get rocky. Thanks for the feedback!

Grimm: Hi Grimmy! Yes, it's time for the talk, but I have a feeling it's not going to go very smoothly. In fact, hold on tight, and no rotten tomatoes please.

Hmm...the person in the tree, you'll just have to wait and see.

I'm really glad you like Buffy and Faith. More will be revealed very soon. Thanks for the feedback!

vampyregurl73: Hi there! I really love your speculation, but it's not going to be quite that simple. Where's the fun in that? As I told Grimmy above, you might want to hold on tight. Thanks for the feedback!

Suzyque4215: Hi there and welcome! I'm so glad you're enjoying. And thank you. It means so much that you think I'm capturing these fun characters. I love writing them. Thanks for your feedback!

CHAPTER 14

Previously...

"Can we talk?"

______________________

Willow nodded and followed as Tara opened a door, ushered her inside, then closed it.

Tara's heart was hammering in her chest as she sat on her bed and stared at the floor.

"What's wrong, Tara? Is it me? Did I do something?" Willow asked nervously, shuffling her feet.

Tara looked up with teary blue eyes. "Yes...it's you."

Willow's heart sank and she felt like she might faint or throw up...or both.

Tara watched Willow turn impossibly pale and stood quickly, wrapping her in her arms.

"Oh, Willow...sweetie, it's you in a good way. The BEST way," Tara said softly as she cupped her cheeks.

Glassy green eyes looked up. "Why?"

"I can't stop thinking of you, Willow. You're the most amazing woman I've ever met."

"Really?" Willow whispered.

"Oh, absolutely," Tara said, hugging her tightly. "And Willow...when we kiss and touch..." <deep breaths> "I feel things I've never felt before. My body does...things it's never done before...and to be honest, I'm having an awfully hard time controlling myself. But I'm..." Tara swallowed hard and whispered, "I'm scared."

Willow sniffled. "What are you scared of? Me? I scare you?"

"No. Oh, baby...no. I'm not scared of you. I'm scared of... <don't go there yet, Tara> losing you...when you find out." Tara blushed and looked away. There it was right on her desk.

"Tara, there's nothing you could tell me that would change the way I feel, believe me..."

"You see that laptop, Willow?" Tara interrupted before she lost her nerve. "I just sit there for hours. That's the only... experience I've ever had. I'm so damn pathetic." Tara pulled away with a harsh laugh. "I mean...I'm 27 years old for God's sake! What's wrong with me?"

Willow stood there stunned and confused. <Is that what this is all about? But she emailed me stuff...or was that someone else?>

"Tara," she said tentatively, "there's nothing to be embarrassed about. A lot of people don't do it."

"Right...people decades younger than me!" she said sarcastically. "Or people so old they don't even care about it!"

"Well...yeah, I guess," Willow said, treading very lightly on these eggshells.

Tara sat back down on her bed and frowned. "I'm afraid...you won't want me...because I'm such a loser and...I won't know what to do...or I'll do it all wrong and mess everything up. Not make you happy," she whispered, dropping her head as she poured her heart out, trying to reveal her secret.

"Oh, Tara. First of all, you are NOT a loser...and you really can't mess it up. And not to negate your anxiety...but it's really not that big of a deal."

Tara's eyebrows shot up. "Not that big of a deal?!"

"No, not at all. People do it all the time."

"Well, yeah...but I haven't...and it's a VERY big deal to me!"

Willow leaned back against the desk. "Well, if you really want to do it, I can tutor you. I did it all the time in high school."

Tara was aghast. "I'm not some...'project', Willow!"

"Well, if you don't want me, I know a lot of people who are pretty good who can do it."

"What?!!!"

"And not to toot my own horn, but I know a lot more tricks than they do."

Tara stood up, infuriated and shaking, forcing her words between gritted teeth. "I think you better leave, Willow...now!"

"But, Tara...?" Willow was confused and scared. What had she said so wrong?

"I mean it, Willow. GET. OUT. NOW!!!" Tara screamed as the tears poured down her red cheeks.

Willow ran from the room, down the stairs and out the door as fast as she could, crying and murmuring "I'm sorry" over and over. She barely made it to her car before falling helplessly to her knees and heaving violently, her stomach roiling and rejecting the contents repeatedly until nothing was left but dry heaves as her stomach muscles contracted painfully.

Buffy and Faith were just coming up from the basement in clean clothes when they saw the red flash run out the door.

"Willow?!"

"What the fuck?"

The Slayer and Potential looked at each other in shock.

"Not good," Buffy said unnecessarily, before her feet finally started to move.

"TARA!!"

Buffy ran after Willow and Faith bounded up the steps.

Willow was skidding the car down the driveway when Buffy finally caught her, pounding on the glass.

"Willow! Stop!! Stop NOW damnit!!"

The car finally slammed to a stop and Buffy slung the door open to find Willow holding the wheel in a white knuckled grip, pounding her head against it, crying and repeating, "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry."

"Willow...Will...please. You're scaring me. Talk to me. Please, Willow," Buffy begged.

All she got in response was a furious shaking of red hair. "Okay, then," Buffy gently reached for Willow and spoke as calmly as she could. "You need to move over, and I'll drive us home, okay?" She carefully lifted her over into the passenger seat and got behind the wheel. She closed the door, seatbelted Willow then herself in and took a deep breath. She looked over at the redhead and her heart broke at the anguished, broken woman she saw. She leaned over and pulled her into her arms. She didn't know what else to do. "Let's go home," she whispered.

A fist tightened around a branch until it gave way and snapped from the force. "No!"

Faith ran up to Tara's room with her heart in her throat. She found her on the bed curled up in a fetal position, sobbing so hard she couldn't catch her breath. Faith knelt beside the bed and whispered softly as she stroked her hair.

"Okay, Tara...it's okay." She knew not to ask any questions yet, so she just stayed there until the blonde cried herself to sleep. She went to her room and grabbed her pillow and a blanket and laid them on the floor beside Tara's bed.

"I don't know what happened, T, but if she hurt you..." Faith whispered, trying to reign in her anger, at least until she knew all the facts. Unfortunately, that wasn't happening anytime soon, so she laid there all night keeping watch over her best friend.

Buffy watched her as she drove, concern and confusion etching her features until Willow's tears finally stopped. Then she glanced over as she gazed listlessly out the window with a blank stare until she finally dozed off to sleep just before they reached Sunnydale. Buffy got them home safely and carried the exhausted woman to bed. After tucking Willow in, she went downstairs and was greeted by Xander and Chosen, who was sniffing her curiously.

"Did Will have too many margaritas?" he joked.

"No, just a very long day," she said as she grabbed a bottle of water and headed back up the stairs. She wasn't saying anything until she talked to Willow.

_______________________

Willow woke up groggily, surrounded by blondes but they weren't the right one. She wrapped her arm around Chosen and sobbed into her neck. Buffy hugged her from the other side and held on tight, trying to give any comfort she could to the shaking redhead. She finally settled down and Chosen covered her face with kisses. She gave the dog a sad smile and kissed her on the top of her head. "Thank you," she whispered, hugging her tight. "And thank you too, Buffy...for everything."

"Hey, it's what we do. You feel like coffee?" Buffy asked gently.

"No. I don't think I can handle it."

"Okay. Just let me know if you need anything."

Willow just nodded and hugged her dog.

______________________

Tara had slept fitfully, tossing and turning all night. Emotionally, she felt like she had been run over by a train. She got up and shuffled to the bathroom, ignoring Faith still lying on the floor. The brunette watched her go but didn't say a word. She knew this was bad, but she wasn't going to push.

The next few days passed much the same way. Willow and Tara were both walking around like zombies and both refused to talk about what happened.

Buffy and Faith had both told their friends that Faith now knew Buffy was the Slayer and Buffy knew that Faith was a Potential. They had come up on a car crash on their way to Faith's that had just happened.

Faith called 911, grabbed her emergency kit, then ran to help the trapped driver with Buffy hot on her heels.

"Get back in the truck, Buffy. This thing's leaking gas all over the place!"

"I'm coming with you. I'm the...a cop, remember?"

Faith grudgingly tossed her a pair of gloves. "Be careful. If you get hurt or dead, I will kick your ass!"

The car had apparently rolled and landed on its side up against a tree. The driver was bleeding and unconscious, gas was pouring out and the door was crushed and stuck.

"Shit! They're gonna need the Jaws, and there's no time! Buffy, get back! What the hell are you doing?!" she yelled at the small blonde, who had jumped up on the car. Then there was the creaking of metal against metal as the Slayer pulled the door off its hinges and flung it away from the car.

"Can you get him out now?" Buffy asked the shocked brunette.

"Uh...yeah. Life before limb, B, but I'll do my best to hold his neck stable if you can get his legs."

With sirens blaring in the distance, the two women worked together to extract the man and carry him a safe distance away just as the car exploded into flames.

The ambulance and firetrucks arrived just as the man was starting to regain consciousness. Faith still held his neck as they applied the C-collar and got him safely strapped on a backboard, then the paramedics loaded him into the ambulance. They left with lights flashing and sirens screaming on their way to Southwest Regional.

The two women trudged through the mud and collapsed into the back of the truck after the last of the firetrucks left. Faith turned her head and stared at the blonde, who had a huge smile on her dirt-smudged face.

"That was cool," she said as she turned to smile at Faith, who was unnaturally quiet and breathing heavily. Buffy's eyes grew wide as she just then realized what she'd done. "Oops," she whispered as she watched the pupils dilate and the nostrils flare. "Faith...I need to tell you..." was all she managed before being pounced on and all thought quickly fled her mind. Several wonderful minutes later, their lips finally parted and Buffy managed to pry her dazed eyes open. "That was way cooler."

Faith laughed as she raised herself up on her elbows. "Yeah, but what's really cool...is that my girl is the Vampire Slayer."

"Yeah. Huh...what?"

Faith laughed again as she rolled onto her back, pulling Buffy on top of her. "I said, my girl is Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. My one girl in all the world...my Chosen One."

Buffy smiled down at her girlfriend and sighed. "Oh, I really like the way that sounds for once. You gonna tell me how you know about all that?"

Faith smiled and shook her head. "You're not gonna believe this, B, but I've got some of that Slayer blood runnin' through me too."

Buffy's jaw dropped open. "You're a...a..."

"Potential...in the Slayer line, blah blah, just never called," she shrugged.

Then Buffy's eyes popped open and her jaw dropped again. "That doesn't make us...we're not like...cousins or something?!"

Faith rolled her over once more and kissed her thoroughly, then pulled back smiling. "God, I hope not."

The rush they felt urged them to get home quickly, and in place of a much-needed shower, they headed to the pool instead.

When they told their friends, they were surprised to find out they already knew. However, both girls were so wrapped up in their own misery, they barely said a word. Buffy and Faith were thrilled at the discovery, and finally there would be no more secrets. However, their friends had them extremely worried, and there was something much more important going on.

Blah. As far as early relationship misunderstandings go, this has got to be the worst. Apparently the word SEX is not in Tara's vocabulary and that may be why she's never had it, lol. Also, the fact that it never dawned on Willow to clarify what Tara was talking about, is beyond me. See, this is why there should be more lovin' and less talking! :sob

:rolleyes OMFGAWD!?! :rolleyes

This should tell them both something A) Kinda like Shelby said, the old adage if you're doing it you should be able to say it and that apparently fits Tara to a "T" since she can't she must not be doing, and B) Willow was so naive that she didn't even get that it was sex not computers being hinted at (since Tara couldn't spit it out) should tell Tara she has about as much experience.

It's funny... in a sad way.... :whistle

You should be :punish for that, btw... you are just evil for leaving it like that too...

Hi Wimpy!

I know I haven't left feedback before now but this last chapter has driven me to de-lurk and let you know how much I am enjoying this story. It has been great to watch them fall for each and then this last chapter.....! :crash :crash :crash

I nearly came out of my skin at such a simple misunderstanding blowing up so completely!! You have all of us kittens in a complete tizzy over all of this :impatient and I am seriously hoping it is resolved in the next chapter.

Can't wait to read more! Keep up the good work!!

How very strange. I wrote fb yesterday from my phone but its not here. Maybe I never hit submit or maybe I lost connection or something. Basically I said that the girls aren't even using logic. I mean from Tara's pov if Willow had understood that she was talking about sex, does she really think that Willow would have suggested that someone else teach her? I mean how crass and inappropriate is that? How about a reality check? Wouldn't any reasonable person say "I don't think we're talking about the same thing." And from Willow's pov, shouldn't there be a big red flag that maybe Tara wasn't talking about computers or whatever Willow thinks she was talking about? I mean again, "you're talking about computers, right?" They both need to think a little logically.

Fluffy - again, still not a fan but seeing them do some rescue work together was awesome.

Hi guys! Boy, I sure got ripped a new one for that chapter, but I totally deserved it. Funny thing is, I loved hearing how much it affected everyone. It shows how much you all care, which says a lot. I hope you all have some patience and hang in there because it will take a while to get all this straightened out. Thank you all for your great feedback! Now I will go strap a pillow to my ass and hide again.

Grimm: Hi Grimmy. I totally understand your reaction. It was warranted and pretty much what I expected. Their misunderstanding was definitely a huge one and may take a while to be resolved, so I'm hoping you don't curse my name too much until it is. More answers will be coming soon, so please just hang in there. Thanks for the feedback!

Finey_McFine: Hi Shelby. Yes, it was a very, very bad misunderstanding on both of their parts. Tara was extremely nervous and did a poor job on her part due to that, and Willow was nervous and confused about everything, so when she heard the word 'laptop', her brain kind of ran with it and common sense pretty much flew out the window. Yes, more lovin' and less talking would've been much better here, but hang in there and it'll get better eventually. More will be explained soon. Thanks for the feedback!

sarahncrys1017: Hi there! LOL, don't worry, I'm doing my best to fix it soon, but it might take a little while, so please hang in there. Thanks for the feedback.

vampyregurl73: LOL, another not totally unexpected reaction and very much warranted. I even had a hard time writing it.

Yes, the whole thing went badly, but poor Tara was very, very nervous even trying to talk about it, and Willow was just nervous and confused about everything.

And boy, is my ass sore from all the spankings I got for this chapter. I am working on making it all better but it may take a while, so please hang in there. Thanks for the feedback.

leos_pride: Hi Leo, and thanks for de-lurking! It means a lot to know that you're enjoying.

Yes, this was a rough chapter all the way around. Tara was nervous and Willow just plain confused, and well, things just kind of went badly to but it mildly. Trust me, it will be resolved but it may take a little while, so please hang in there with me. Thanks so much for the feedback.

JustSkipIt: Hi Deb. You're absolutely right. Logic and common sense just flew out the window for a few reasons. Tara was extremely nervous and Willow was nervous and very confused from the beginning, so when she heard the word 'laptop', her brain latched onto that and ran with it. Very bad combination for clear communication. Things will be explained eventually.

I'm glad you liked Faith and Buffy working together like that. That was the only fun part to write in that chapter. Thanks for the feedback.

CHAPTER 15

The days turned into weeks of watching the despondent women, and they all seemed to be suffocating in a black cloud of despair.

Buffy had tried gingerly to pry any type of information from Willow. All she would say was that she really wasn't sure what happened before she broke down once again. Buffy was desperate to help her, but wasn't really sure what to do or where to look... "Look," she whispered to herself before she did just that.

Faith had even less luck with Tara. She wouldn't say a word. She either changed the subject or just got up and walked away.

Buffy and Faith had been talking and texting almost daily. They were at a complete loss about how to help. Faith was confused, but believed Buffy when she told her that Willow didn't know what happened. She was home alone one afternoon while Tara was at work and heard her phone go off. When she checked it, she wasn't sure what she was really seeing, but she knew someone who might. She didn't like going behind Tara's back. In fact, she absolutely hated it, but she was more worried about her than she had ever been in her life.

"Can you tell me what this is?" she asked, placing her phone on the crooked table and sliding it across to Mary.

"Sure, honey. That's called a phone. You can call people on it and talk to them even if they're very far away. It's a very useful invention."

Faith wasn't in the mood for jokes, which Mary quickly noticed by the unusual seriousness of Faith's tone.

"Mary! The picture -- look at the picture!"

Mary's eyes grew wide and she inhaled sharply. "Oh my."

"Is it bad?" Faith asked nervously.

"Where did you get this? Did you take it?"

"No. Buffy sent it to me."

"Buffy took it?"

"No. Um...it was on Willow's phone. It looks like they were out by the creek from what I can tell."

"Oh...my."

"You already said that," Faith stated impatiently. "What's with the light show?!"

"Faith, where's Tara?"

"She's at work. And what the hell is that?!" Faith pointed roughly at her phone.

"It's kind of hard to explain. I've heard legends...but...I really should talk to Tara first."

"Well, good luck with that. She's barely said 10 words since that night and I don't know what the fuck happened between them."

Mary looked up sharply. "Something happened?"

"Yeah...apparently something huge. Lots of tears, lots of drama, but she refuses to talk about it."

"Oh, no," Mary shook her head. "What about Willow? Did she say anything?"

"Not really. Buffy said Willow doesn't really know what happened either. All I know is that they were in Tara's room talking one minute, then the next, Willow's running out of the house crying, and Tara's in her room bawling her eyes out. She won't talk, barely eats anything. She's like an empty shell."

"Oh, dear. I had noticed her being a little quiet when she came over, but I didn't realize it was that bad. Listen, Faith, is there any way you can talk to Willow? Preferrably in person. It's very important to get any other details we can."

"You bet I can if it's going to help Tara. I'll go right now."

"Very good. And Faith...this is a very delicate matter. We need to use great care and tact."

"I'll be as careful as I can. What exactly do I need all this tact for?"

"I just need you to verify something for me, but I can't explain right now," Mary said, then took a deep breath. "I need you to find out...if...if Willow is a virgin."

Faith stared at the older woman for a minute and realized she was dead serious.

"Well, shit," Faith said as she grabbed her phone and stood up from the table. "I'll call you as soon as I find out anything."

"Thank you, dear," Mary said as she hugged the brunette goodbye. "Be safe."

"Always," Faith whispered back.

Mary watched as she got on her Harley heading to Sunnydale, then went straight to her room and grabbed several books. She picked up her phone and hit the speed dial.

"Sofie, get your ass over here! We have some research to do...NOW!"

Tara loved her job, but lately all it was to her was a distraction to keep her mind off other things. So here she was, going through the motions and dreading the end of her shift.

"Maybe I can volunteer to pull another double," she mused to herself. "Maybe I'll be so exhausted I'll pass out and finally get some sleep."

She still couldn't believe the things Willow had said. Never in a million years would she have imagined how crass and unfeeling, and just downright disgusting. No sooner had she left work and started driving home had the memories that plagued her returned.

"Tutor me! Tutor Me?!! It's making love, not a FUCKING CLASSROOM!" she yelled as she drove. This was the one place she could vent her pent up emotions freely.

"Oh, and let's not forget -- Miss 'I know other people who can teach you but I know more tricks'!" she yelled as she slammed her palm on the steering wheel.

"That God damn fucking...fucker. Oh God, I miss her so much!" she sobbed as she drove, tears blurring her vision. She pulled some tissues from one of the boxes in the passenger seat and wiped her eyes. God, how many boxes had she gone through since that night.

"Stupid women! Stupid sex! Stupid ME!! I never should've told her -- NEVER! I knew it! Who wants a 27-year-old virgin who's afraid to have sex?!"

"It's 'not a big deal!' she said. I've been 'tutoring' women since high school!"

"Oh, God, I feel sick again. How many other women have kissed her and touched her and...and...tasted her?!"

"Oh GOD!" she wailed as she pulled her truck over and threw up, once again, on the side of the road.

God Lawd!

I hope Mary and Sophie come up with some anwers that will solve the mystery behind the virgin sparks and help our girls clear up this misunderstanding.

A tactful Faith is a oxymoron.

I have stopped cursing your name. However, I will continue to throw shit at the wall until this situation is resolved :crash .

To tell you the truth, I'm at a complete loss for words (in a good way... I think).

Anyway, I'm also looking forward to see what Mary and Sophie come up with as well.

My poor, poor favorite girls. Sigh.

Looking forward to what the next update has in store.

Loved the update. You have my curiosity piqued as to what Mary and Sophie might come up with.
Next Friday can't come soon enough.
