Hi everyone
I'm close to posting the next chapter, but I wanted to stop in first, and leave you all some much needed responses to your wonderful feedback. I know it's been a long time and I hope that everyone's still interested.

I am glad the ladies finally get a chance to talk a little. They know each other's names now and are meeting for lunch. I look forward to seeing how it goes.
Yep, the lunch meeting is next

Okay, I'm loving this fic. Your writing is descriptive without being overly so, just perfect. And Spencer is so sweet and cute, I love him!
Thank you. I'm glad you find the tone of the story, not too overbearing.

and I'm delighted that you like the story, thus far!

Yey update! It’s so nice to come home after a hectic day to find an update to a fic I’m beginning to love more and more with each update! Thanks for completing my night!
Awww, thank you sweetie

But now I feel all bad for having waited so long between postings. I hope you still like the next chapter as much.
Quote:
I so love the little man! He’s such a sweet little boy. He’s had his share of heartaches in such a young age (mostly from Logan’s empty promises), but still, he has such a generous heart (what with forgiving Logan every single time and literally giving away his art to a virtual stranger!) I think he takes from his mommy Tara. And writing a letter to Santa so early… hmmmm it must mean there is something really important he wanted. I think I may have an idea of what it is though (or is that wishful thinking on my part hehe ). Not only does he have a big heart, he is also talented (I assumed that the art Willow was looking at were Tara’s[bad of me ]) AND he is intelligent as well for not forgetting the “restaurant lady!” Can I keep him for myself? He’s just so cute I wanna hug him and never let him go (but there is oxygen becoming an issue if I hug too tightly and getting arrested for kidnapping hehe ).
hehehe...that bit of feedback bordered on a ramble, there sweetie.

But I liked it.

And yes. You are right. No good can come from kidnapping....it's much safer to enjoy Spencer from a distance
Quote:
I was all with the sigh with the description about Tara and Willow wanting something missing in their lives for so long. I know the feeling of Tara wanting somebody to take care of her. She’s been taking care of someone else for so long (Spencer and I assume Logan as well) that she just wanted someone to take care of her for once… To let go and let someone else help hold the reigns with her. I know Willow's drive for success (coz I feel it myself everyday too when I step out of the door), but coming home to an empty house, she is beginning to think is this all worth it? Was success worth not knowing the warmth of someone in her bed and the look of love directed only at her? I so look forward on the development of their feelings for each other, but this early, Tara feels that undeniable tug… to for once be bold enough and reach out to this woman! And Willow in babble mode says it all! Hehe
You are right. There is so much that they could give eachother, and that is so important in life...it's about balance. Tara needs someone to take care of her, for a change, and Willow needs someone that's going to slow her down a little and show her that life is not all about work. They're perfect for eachother, I think.
Quote:
Cant wait for that “quick” lunch, but with these girls and the little man, I’m sure it wouldn’t be quick at all!
hehehe....well, I've been writing it for how long now? a couple months? so I'd say it is the longest "quick" lunch in all of history!
Quote:
I’ve been mostly a lurk girl these past weeks, but I just love this fic and I just had to let you know that… I love all your works actually… Keep up the GREAT work!
I'm so glad that you came out of lurkdom, and thank you so much for all your kind words.

As usual, your imagery is outstanding. The two lonely hearts, each wanting more from her life, more human contact, someone to love. I can just see it, like a movie -- Tara pensive with her hot cup of tea and Willow in her large empty bed staring at the ceiling -- the atmosphere your words paint is so palpable.
Thank you, dear.
Quote:
Not surprised they run into each other at the festival, though I'm glad that it's Spencer who notices Willow first and engages her. Willow's banter with Spencer is so sweet, a good sign of things to come. Like I said before, Little Man Spencer deserves the love of two parents and it seems he may have found the missing family unit. Now, only if Tara realizes it ...
Thank you. I felt when I was writing that part between Spencer and Willow, that it was completely necessary, so I'm grateful to know that it came off so well.

Emms, I'm so glad that things appear to be moving right along with the girls and that they are having lunch together. Spencer sounds very talented. Nice twist with us thinking Tara would be the artist and Willow would love her paintings, but it ended up being Spencer instead. I was afraid that Tara wasn't going to go to the show at all since she couldn't summon up the motivation to paint the night before. The description here is so crisp and clear; your writing is so vivid.
Thank you so much-- on all accounts.

And, I'm glad you like twists...cause there's a few more to come.

For The Love of Tara Thank you so much sweetie.

Darth Pacula Quote:
Well, this is just what the doctor ordered, nice and fluffy with a dash of angst to spice things up just a touch.
yes, but just a dash, mind you....angst can be very spicy.
Quote:
Okay, I know everyone else is saying the same thing, but damn, that Spencer is cute. Though how could any child of Tara's be anything else, right?
I have to agree there
Quote:
Her ex though? A very complex character there, capable of inspiring intense dislike and abject pity simultaneously. Sure, she's a crap mother, and hello? Cheating on Tara? What kind of mental defective would do that? But I can't help but feel a bit sorry for her. Which is probably what you were trying to do, so I hardly need to tell you that, now do I?
Yes, it's true. She hasn’t exactly presented herself as an exemplary mother...but I think she's like a lot of people; in the way that she's at least making an attempt (okay, so it's a drunken attempt) to have a relationship with Spencer (some of the time)...and she hasn't exactly made any right decisions thus far...but I sense change in the air.
Quote:
Your version of Willow here is her usual quirky self, but with her you're also painting a detail portrait of loneliness. That scene with her alone in her penthouse staring out the window? Classic.
Thank you.
Quote:
This Kirkland Jr pillock? Definitely not liking him. I'm getting the urge to kick him hard in the goolies, but I suppose every story needs a bad guy, right? Well, he seems to fit the bill, from what little we've seen of him.
Yes...poo-poo on Kirkland Jr. I'm sure Willow's going to end up kicking him, (as you said) hard in the goolies before this story is over.

yes...I'm quite certain of that. hehe

Quote:
She had always gotten the suspicion that he wanted more than a professional relationship with her, which was so totally out of the question that it wasn’t even a question anymore. It was a Picasso painting.
I loved the way you phrased that by the way. A Picasso painting?
Thank you.
Quote:
Nice way to portray the instant connection between Willow and Tara, with both of them covertly eying the other. Then the casual first meeting that goes nowhere? Nice way to ramp up the tingle of anticipation. And the way you closed off part two, with the reveal that they'd both be at the sidewalk show? Great cliffhanger. Though does it really count as a cliffhanger? Maybe it should be more of a hillclinger?
Yes, I like that. Hillclinger, it is.
Quote:
Then, in this latest update, you show that Tara, despite having Spencer, is just as lonely as Willow is. Hmm, I wonder what could fill the void in both women's lives? I wonder .... Nope, haven't a clue.
Quote:
Okay, I have to ask, a stuffed dog? We are just talking about a stuffed animal right? Nothing taxidermy related? Cause that would be just ... eeuglh on so many levels.
No, no, no...definitely stuffed in the cuddly way...there's nothing taxidermish going on....yet. hehe. But seriously though, remember that big dog Willow always had on her bed during season four?
Quote:
Hmm, I have my suspicions about what Spencer's wish could be. I'm going with either making his Mum happy ie bring the Willster into their lives, or something about Logan. That being said, I've probably just jinxed myself into being completely incorrect.
perhaps incorrect isn't the right word....
premature, maybe. Spencer is very much fixated on Logan right now, so it wouldn't surprise me if he's writing to Santa in order to get his missing mommy to return. But then again, it could be something else all together

(I'm evil)
Quote:
I loved that little detail about how Spencer knew not to go wandering off. I know I did enough of that as a kid. The whole bit where Tara stood on his shoe? I don't know why, but I just really loved that.
I'm so glad you loved the stepping on the shoe. I actually went back and forth with that more than a few times...I very much wanted to get across that the stepping on Spencer's shoe was a maternal thing and not a reason to call Child protective services. LOL
Quote:
finally, that bit where Willow's trying to cajole Spencer into taking payment? Fantastic.
Thank you so much for leaving such detailed and wonderfully thoughtful feedback. I really appreciate the time and energy that must have taken.

But oh such a lovely update this time Lil Spencer is so cute, wanting to give his paintings to Willow for free, and being this little man. So far so good, the little boy seems to like Willow a whole lot So there shouldn't be too much trouble over accepting Willow being around, cuz she's gonna be. Wonder what's gonna happen with Logan though...
Oh my I'm hooked Can't wait for next update!
Oh, I'm certainly glad you're hooked *laughs evilily*
Thank you for leaving feedback.

Ooooh, they're already going to lunch. Things are moving along quite nicely so maybe a little isn't too far off? Love this fic! Tara would be a good mom and Willow would look hot in a business suit.
Hi there Amy! Well, I’d say there could be a little kissing soon….and I agree Willow would look hot in a business suit.

Jeanne, I've been sitting here for ages trying to create a reply that would equal your wonderful thoughts. I couldn't. I just want you to know, I think you're great and I very much appreciate your support and kind words.
I don't pretend to be the best writer...or even a good writer, for that matter, but each time I get a few words from you (or a ramble, usually right?

) it makes all the heart I put into writing, worth it. Thank you.

Another loverly (spelling intended) story for us to follow ... two lonely women wanting to find their soulmate, but what trials must they go thru' first? Will W & T fall in love, will they be happy ever after? Is this the Kitten Board? Thank goodness, yes to all of the above.
Love your setting and your OC, especially lil' Spencer. He's a very talented little boy to be able to paint so well ... he probably gets his talent from his Mom. I bet I know what his Christmas wish, and I bet he gets it, one way or another.
Thank you sweetie, I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. Yes....definitely a happy ever after

errrrrrrr you excite me with an update and then you leave me hanging!! Oh well ill deal but what a wonderful update!! Willow and Tara meet again! Yay!! ....and is this little get together a date????..... my one prediction for the day is that spencers wish was to get tara to find someone (like willow) haha well thanks for the update!!! Please continue!!...
Hi sweetie...wow, well....it's been too long since I've updated this fic, I'm looking forward to getting back to it though.

Thank you for the kind words...and yes...I guess the little get together could be considered a date...which might eventually lead to an even bigger date. There could be cooking involved even.

Y'know, I had a sneaking suspicion early this chapter that it would be Spencer's art, not Tara's, that caught Willow's eye - not that Tara's art isn't eye-catching, I'm sure, but I got the impression her work wasn't going to be on show today, what with the general uninspiredness. Yay me
Yeah, I figured a lot of people would suspect that, because I practically said as much (with out actually saying it) at the beginning of the update when Tara asked Spencer if he put his canvases in the car.
Quote:
I loved the image of Willow and Tara, separately, wondering about their lives. Tara sitting there, with the music on the other side of the window, the barrier between her and life-going-on type things. And Willow with her stuffed dog That's very cute - I hope the stuffed dog doesn't get booted out of bed once Tara takes up residence. Willow/Tara/stuffed dog is an allowable threesome on Pens, right?
Probably, but it's kinda oookey, if ya ask me.
Quote:
I too am curious about Spencer's letter to Santa - will it prove to be "Please being Lee-lee back?" (heartbreak, angst), or "Please send Mommy a hot redhead for kisses and gay love, whatever that means, I heard it somewhere and it sounds like Mommy's kind of thing," (joy)? If the latter, well, lunch is a start
I hope it's the latter, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, a new update. Thank you Emms!!! Yet again great & I love that Willow and Tara are taking things slow and not rushing into anything sudden. Spencer is still so cute & I love Willow's interaction with him, what a great family the three would make!
Thank you. I'm so glad you like the story!

Okay....that is the first bit of feedback, but since the gremlins in this board frown upon longer posts, I'll be inserting the rest of the feedback momentarily, once I get this first bit posted.
