Chapter Fifteen



“…my always.” She cooed, as she drifted off to sleep in Tara’s arms…



Tara gently ran her fingers through the fiery red-head’s soft hair lovingly. There was nothing that she wouldn’t do for Willow. She had wandered through her life in darkness and now, everything had changed. She had changed. She felt like no matter what life threw at her, as long as Willow was by her side, she could handle anything…



This must be Heaven…



Tara thought, as she drifted off to sleep with Willow in her arms…



It was the best sleep that either of them had experienced in a long time…Willow finally feeling safe…and Tara finally feeling wanted…



The two lovers drifted off, each into their own dreamland…or was it the same?



…a long winding driveway through the woods ends in a knoll…a knoll so green and so filled with light, it could easily have been a faerie ring. Towards the back of the knoll, on the crest of a hill, sits a beautiful, yet modest log home. A beautiful woman with hair like sunshine and eyes as blue as the ocean tends to a small garden on the side of the quaint house…



A petite young woman with flowing crimson hair peeks from around the corner, seeing the girl-child with hair as fiery as her own…she smiles as she runs out after the child…



“I’m gonna get you!” She says…running after her. The little girl runs to the garden into the safety of the blonde woman’s waiting arms…



“Mama!” She squeals. Throwing herself into her mother’s arms. “Mommy was chasing me again – she says she’s gonna turn me into a rat if I don’t pick up my room!”



Tara looks at Willow, shaking her head. “The ‘Amy’ story again? Honey…”



“It’s the only way I can get her to pick anything up, baby…it looks like a hurricane hit up there!”



“Hmmm…I wonder where she got that from!” She said with a wink, turning to the child.



“Ashley, baby, you know Mommy would never do that…now why don’t you be a good girl and go pick up your things for Mama.”



“Oh, alright…but it’s not fair…it’s my room…and I like it that way…messy that is…well, not really messy…but cluttered…but a good kind of clutter…” Ashley mumbled to herself as she ran off into the house with a pouty look on her face…



Willow walked over to Tara, taking the blonde into her arms.



Tara chuckled.



“She may have my eyes, but there’s no mistaking that red hair and the babble…that’s pure Willow.” She said, smiling at her love.



“And the pout…you can’t forget the pout…” Willow reminded her.



“Ahhh, yes. We can’t forget the pout…you know how cute you are when you do that.”



“I try…” Willow-grin.



Ever so gently she places her lips to Tara’s…they fit together like two pieces of the most intricate puzzle, and when together, it appears nearly impossible to tell where one ends and the other begins…



Reluctantly, their lips part.



“Alright my beautiful, pouty red-head…how about you go in and get ready for dinner…I’ve got a surprise for you tonight…” she says, tapping Willow on the butt…



“Oooh! A surprise? Presents? You know how I love presents…especially Tara-presents! They’re the best! What is it?? Tell me…” Willow started nibbling on Tara’s neck “…you know you are powerless against my kisses…”



Tara giggling “…stop it! Behave…You’ll find out at dinner...”



Willow-pout.



“Oh alright…” she said…hands on hips…stomping into the house.



Goddess, I love it when she does that – she is so adorable…



Willow disappeared into the house…



Just need to get a few more things…



Willow and Ashley were sitting on the floor in a spacious living room, near the fireplace. They were busy playing an intense game of ‘go fish’ – and neither noticed Tara setting the dining room table…



“Willow…Ashley…come on – time for dinner!”



Both came running enthusiastically into the dining room, racing for the closest chair. Willow letting Ashley win…



The table was set with linens and Willow’s grandmother’s china…there were four place settings at the table



“Wow, honey, what’s the occasion? Is Buffy coming over?”



“Yay! Aunt Buffy!!!” Buffy was Ashley’s favorite Aunt…



Willow picked up her napkin, spreading it on her lap. There was something under the linen…



Two small stones lay where the napkin did just moments before…



Willow eyed them…as a look that could only be described as pure joy crept across her face…



“Goddess…Tara! Honey? Are you sure?” she said – looking lovingly at the beautiful blonde.



Tara could no longer hold it in – happiness overwhelmed her – as Willow ran over to her, throwing her arms around her…kissing her fully before realizing that Ashley was staring…



“What’s going on, Mommy? What are these?” she said, holding up the stones.



Willow took Tara’s hand, as they walked over to the small girl…pointing at the stones in her tiny hand…



“This one here, the one that looks like a pointy B…that is Berkana…and this one here – the one that looks like an M …that is Ehwaz.” Tara said, motherly.



“Ehwaz is the sacred horse, do you remember what the horse symbolizes?”



The little girl’s brow wrinkled, just like her Mommy’s when she was deep in thought…



“The horse means… something that we work at together.”



Tara smiled proudly.



“…and Berkana is the birch tree…do you remember the birch tree?”



“Berkana…the big B…the birch tree…”



“What does the birch tree do in the woods, honey?” Prompted Willow.



“It grows!” said Ashley, proudly.



“…but what does it all mean, Mommy?”



Willow squeezed Tara’s hand…



“It means that Mama is going to have a baby…”



“YAY!!!!” she squealed…dancing around the table singing “We’re gonna have a baby! We’re gonna have a baby!”



“Mommy – can I call Aunt Buffy?”



“Sure…go ahead baby…” Willow said. Ashley was already half-way down the hallway, heading for the phone…



Willow turned – gazing into Tara’s beautiful Sapphire eyes…



“I love you so much…” she said, placing her hand ever so gently on Tara’s tummy.



“I love you, Willow…my Willow…”



“Mmmmph?” Willow stirred. “…Tara? Baby? You okay?” She thought Tara had called her name….



“Willow?” Tara said, stretching luxuriously… I just had the most wonderful dream….

“Willow?” Tara said, stretching luxuriously “…I just had the most wonderful dream…”



“Mmmm….me too, baby.” She said, curling her body around Tara’s midsection. “What was yours about?”



“Can’t tell you…”



“What do you mean you can’t tell me?” Willow said, suddenly concerned.



“Can’t tell you…or else it won’t come true!” Tara said, smiling to herself.



“Oh come on…please? Just a little hint? An itsy-bitsy hint? Please?”



“Nope.” Tara said with resolve.



“Ok…guess I’ll just have to resort to drastic measures…”



“Oh no…not…”



“Yes…that’s right…tickle torture!”



“No!” Tara squealed…as Willow began assaulting the blonde’s ribcage and tummy mercilessly.



“Hahahhaahahhaa! No fair! No fair! Okay! I’ll talk!! I’ll talk!!!”



“That’s more like it!” Willow smiled, a sense of accomplishment spreading across her face.



“I dreamt….” She began.



“Yes…?” Willow said, waiting with baited breath…



“…that I was in the middle of the woods….”



“Yes….come on…!” Patience was never one of the red-head’s best qualities.



“…and you were there…” Tara said…knowing that she had Willow right where she wanted.



“…wearing nothing but your good looks…” Tara smiled, sliding her hand slowly up the inside of Willow’s thigh…licking her lips seductively…



Willow felt a wave of excitement flushing over her.



“Mmmm…” She moaned, closing her eyes and arching her back ever so slightly in response to Tara’s touch.



Suddenly, finding out what Tara had dreamt didn’t seem so important to Willow…which is exactly what Tara had wanted. She knew the power of dreams, especially those shared between soulmates, and even though she was unsure of what Willow had seen in her dream, she hoped it was one and the same with hers.



After all, this was not an such an unpleasant price to pay to keep such a wonderful dream alive…Tara thought, as she descended onto Willow’s chest…
