With all the talk on the other board about Buffy's birthday, it occurred to me that Tara's birthday came and went without any notice on the show this year. Fortunately in my Simsville, Willow and Tara had a proper celebration of this important occasion. Hope you enjoy!

Okay, I've uploaded the portrait I made - the painting's called "Tara's Grin"

For the birthday gallery pic you saw earlier, I actually tweaked the easel image in Photoshop - that wasn't an actual object because I wasn't able to get the Sims Art Studio to work on either of my computers. But tonight I downloaded the Sims Transmogrifier and was able to create a portrait from that pic. I think all you need is to download the IFF object file, so I've put up the link to it (it's in a zip file). BTW, the portrait looks fantastic on their bedroom wall!

You should be able to right-click the link and choose 'Save Target As.' Let me know if you have any problems downloading it.

Wow, you guys rock. I love seeing pictures of other people's sims. I've been playing with my Buffy sims forever. I just bought Hot Date this weekend (yes, finals next week for me too, buying a new game is obvious a great idea). So I moved my Willow and Tara into a nice little place fully equiped with all the new "romance" items. It's great fun.

I decided a while back that I wanted to learn Flash over the winter holiday, and now I'm getting an evil idea that I will make flash movies with my Buffy sims! Muhaha.

Well, the girls had their combination Xmas/Hanukkah celebration and it was very romantic. A cold front suddenly swept in from the north and Sunnydale even got a little snow. Enjoy!

Thanks for the links Scout and have a very happy holiday.

I just got off the phone with a kiwi friend who just returned from a 3 month stay in Darwin Australia. We got to talking about things and then our favourite topic came up...video games. While in Darwin she discovered The Sims. She loves the game as much as we all do. I told her about Hot Date and I think she was headed out the door to buy it as soon as we got off the phone. She couldn't wait. I'm going to have to give her all the wonderful links that have been shared here.

I am so late to this conversation, it's kinda sad. Just waded trhough 26 pages of comments ... but I have to say, and I think I'm the only person on the planet, but I actuall like Hot Date.

I haven't had any major problems ... unless you consider trying to get the Object Organizer to load my pride flag downtown major (which I did, don't laugh ... stop it).

Anyway, I'm working on a little W/T story now -- in the midst of creating new 3D stuff with Blueprint.

I'm hoping to add some pics here Monday ... hoping is the operative word.

Same-sex couples cannot officially marry in the game, so it's just like real life!

I think that's my one major complaint with the game. Of course, if you were creative enough, you could always download wedding clothes and use 'House Party' to throw your own W/T wedding.

Does this suggest what I think it suggests?

I have not been to this thread in a while and look at all the nice posts. I have pre-occupied with doing research for a new toy I'm about to buy...a windows 2002 PDA. I'm having trouble trying to decide which one I want. I have it narrowed down to an ipaq 38xx or a Jornada 568...but then again the Toshiba e570 looks really good, but it's their very first PDA etc tc etc...

So yes I have been distracted from my Simmies.

If you need reference pics, the Extra Flamey site has episode shots under 'Eps and Caps." Also, Stain and Varnish has Amber pics under "Multimedia/BtVS." There are some good moon jammie shots in the "Weight of the World" and "The Gift" cap collections.

Speaking of entertaining, has anyone been able to use the hand puppets? I keep reading about characters entertaining each other with hand puppets in Hot Date, but I can never get the option to come up. It's supposed to be funny when the hand puppets fight.

As for the moon jammies, my original plan was to do what some others have done and add them to the lingerie selection downtown, so you could keep your OMWF Tara skin and just have her go downtown and buy the moon jammies, then she would change into them at night. That was the plan, but I haven't gotten very far with it. Sounded good at the time, though.

I got the Sims, Hot Date & Living it Up. I got W & T dating &i got them using the Hand Puppets . I think you have to either have a high Playful Score. Ialso used sim edit to increase all of there personality traits!My Willow Isent a flirt but if Tara invites her downtown shes always the one grabbing Tara & Kissing her its funny!But they havent got to the moving in together stage yet im still working on that!

I'm attempting to create a W/T/F triangle, but that doesn't work in the sims . See, the Hot Tub and Love Bed only accomadate 2 people. And, when Faith sees W/T kissing, her relationship score with one of them drops like 70 points. BUT, when she sees them ummm "playing" in bed, her score rises to 147.

the only one that i still have to find is c303fa.bmp



i got bored with it, so i tried just deleting the cmx file that it's attached to... but it turns out that tara needs that cmx file... and without it... her head doesn't load properly... so that blew that plan out of the window - had to put the cmx file back so tha tara could be returned to her former glory.



so, it's back to the drawing board... i can't find c303fa.bmp at all. *sigh*



nevermind... i'm the strong type - i'll figure something out.

my sims are doing excellent. i actually have two different willows and taras, one set on the computer here in the big room and one set on the computer in the bedroom.

willow got an Imbolc altar and refuses to stop worshipping the goddess. If I can get her to leave the altar, she'll go to the woodworking bench. She has 8 zillion lawn gnomes in her inventory so any Sims that visit leave with several.



Tara has been making quite a pile of dough for the family with her preserves and painting. Everyone loves the way she plays the piano and Willow cannot get enough of vibrating with her int he lurve bed. it's kind of disturbing, that family.

There are still OMWF skins up at Sims Resource. I can try to find the link to the correct page if thats what you all want. There are pretty far back...probably around the 30th page or so. I had to re download all my skins when I got my own computer. My brothers computer went boom. Or if you want...I could probably email them to someone. Just let me know.

Well, Tara hates Willow now! They're still in love, but Tara keeps trying to fiery kiss Willow and they end up with double Minuses each! Then they slap each other. I'm not sure what's wrong. It's quite frustrating.

They don't have any family friends yet, which is kind of sad. I'm working on their job skills and interests (using those awesome magazines). I want them to be interested in the same things, but Willow hates reading. She just won't quit making those mofo gnomes!

Well, according to the ‘Hot Date’ strategy guide, a ‘Fiery Kiss’ recipient needs a love and mood rating of 40 or higher. Maybe their moods are a little low?

You might toss ‘em into the heart tub for an afternoon and then try the kiss. The heart tub usually puts the girls in a very good mood.

I made a house with Willow, Tara, Buffy, and Faith in it, and I got W/T and B/F to fall in love in no time. I'm trying to find my Livin' Large so I can get Willow a job as a Hacker, Tara a job as a Paranormal, and a Love Bed/Tub. I downloaded the Faith skin in her "Bring it On" outfit and I put it in my GameData/Skins directory, but I can't use it in the game. anyone know why?

Some files will be put on your hard drive, but you will need the CD to play.

Livin' Large and House Party had a lot of pretty weird stuff. What's Vacation going to be like?

Vacation will be about your Sims taking a well earned vacation. Everything in it is designed to make your vacation interesting and more fun for both you and your Sims!



Can you play without some of the new objects if you want?

Yes. Just don't buy them for your Sims' home.



Will each neighborhood get its' own Vacation Island, or will all neighborhoods have the same Vacation area?

Each neighborhood will have its' own downtown area.



Will there be any new interactions?

Yes, there are lots of new social interactions with children.



I've downloaded lots of stuff for The Sims. Will Vacation be compatible?

Vacation is fully compatible with the existing Maxis downloads.



Is it compatible with Windows 2000?

Vacation is not officially compatible with Windows 2000.



Will any cheat codes be added or removed?

No cheat codes will be changed or removed. We may add one or two, however.

Damn, Looks like GODisTigger got to it before I did. But then again I misplaced theis thread. Oh Well. At least were getting a new expansion. Just hope that it is not JUST for XP. That would suck. I hope that we all can use it. I think it is going to make even better W/T goodness stories.

To GODisTigger. I didn't mean it in a bad way. At least the rest of the Kitties know now.



Reading the last post again (from Scout), why do I get the sense that someone is going to make a 'Buffy Survivor'. Well, actually. I guess that this will at least allow many W/T outdoor 'smoochie' piccies.



And that's not bad at all.

The Vacation add-on sounds like a lot of fun.

BUT 700mb??!!??

I am waiting for them to announce the SIMS PC. All that is loaded is the entire collection of SIMS add-ons.

The original love bed came with the Livin Large expansion pack. You can download additional love beds at Sims Resource, but I believe you have to own Livin Large for them to be fully functional (meaning if you want Willow and Tara to crawl under the sheets and do their thing).

And yes, Paula, every time one of these packs comes out, I dread having to clean up my hard drive to make room. I'm thinking this is the last pack I'll be able to squeeze onto my old desktop hard drive.



I think Vacation holds some definite promise - W/T camping under the stars or honeymooning at the ski lodge...oh yeah, definite possibilities.

Note that it says “not officially compatible with Windows 2000.” I think that means it will probably work fine, but they won’t take responsibility if it makes your system crash and burn.
