Hello Kittens



I hope that everyone who went to Vegas had a great time and got home safely. I wish I could have met you there but I'm not allowed to leave the state. That's a joke. Really. OK enough bad humor, let me thank a few people.



Katharyn I'm glad you liked them. I think I can promise you a "quiet" wallpaper will be in the near future. Thanks for your compliments.



SJ You are my most loyal fan. You always have an encouraging comment. Is there anything I can do to repay your kindness?



Cicca I haven't forgotten about your pics. I promise I'll be submitting something for your approval in the near future.



On to the new stuff. I whipped up a new wallpaper for myself. This one doesn't have a theme or story. It just displays some of my favorite characteristics of Willow(smile) and Tara(eyes). Not to say that Tara has a bad smile or vice versa. I simply made a paper that I knew I would love to stare at. Here is a link to my collection of wallpapers:

Hey Kittens,



I was recently restructuring my collection of uploaded Willow & Tara wallpapers and it occured to me that the name of my website is rather mundane. It is a functional name but devoid of any flavor. I want to find a name that gives it more meaning. Then I thought 'Why not let the other Kittens help me name it.' I get so much from this board. There are wonderful stories and great people to chat with. I've found a place that makes me feel like I belong. It just seems right to include the members of this community in naming the website where I keep my wallpapers. I know that sounds sappy but that is how I feel. So if you would like to help me name my website continue reading. If not, then I thank you for your time.



I think a simple submission process followed by a vote will work just fine. Name submissions may be sent as replies in my wallpaper thread or through private messaging. Submissions may also be sent via email or the guestbook of my website. I will collect submissions until March 17th. As people send submissions *fingers crossed*, I will collect and sort them while keeping a running list posted on my website. The link for the list is: name submissions There is no link to this page from my website in an effort to restrict voting to members of this board.

The deadline for name submissions will be March 17th.



On March 17th I will select 30(if I even get that many )and post the final list on my website. I will also post a message containing the list on the Kitten Board.

At this point the voting process begins. Votes will be accepted in the same manner as submissions.

After a few days of votes I will presto-changeo have a new name for my Willow & Tara Wallpaper website.



Submission Guidelines

1. Submissions must comply with this board's FAQ.

2. Submissions may be sent as replies in my wallpaper thread or through private messaging. They may also be sent via email or the guestbook of my website.

3. The name should refer to Willow & Tara not Alyson & Amber.

4. It should be no more than roughly ten words.(I think ten is more than plenty but I don't want to rule out a potential gem)

5. Since the only language I speak fluently is English, I request that the name also be in English.



Voting Guidelines

1. Votes will not be accepted until after the final list has been compiled. This is to prevent a vote being cast for a name that doesn't make the final list.

2. Anyone can vote. The only requirement is that you love Willow & Tara.

3. You may vote as many times as you like but only the last vote will count.

4. When casting a vote, please make your screen name known since I will be matching names to the votes. This is only to prevent a person's vote being counted more than once. I assure you that I am NOT collecting data or anything like that.

This one's larger than those of the past. Instead of 800x600, this one is 1024x768. A friend had asked me to make it that size so her computer wouldn't have to stretch the picture to make it fit. If you would prefer the smaller size just let me know and I will upload a smaller version.

Just thought you deserved to know how great I think your work is, the wallpapers are very creative. I instantly fell in love with your latest Tara wallpaper (green cardy over red top) ... WOW ... love turning my computer on even more now. It was a hard decision to make though cause I absolutely LOVE blue and the blue in Tara's eyes in the W/T one is wicked.

SJ I'm glad you like the orange. It's not a color that I usually associate with Willow. I tend to lean towards the greens and blues.

Blue77 Such enthusiastic praise is wonderful to hear. Thank you for taking an interest. I hope that my future endeavors will merit such accolades.



On to the update:

I just uploaded a new wallpaper of Tara to my website. I know the last couple of wallpapers were centered around Willow or Tara instead of Willow and Tara. I promise that I'll get to work on one that displays them as a couple rather than individuals. Any feedback and/or criticism would be much appreciated.

For this latest wallpaper, I must give thanks to Cicca for allowing me to use the image of Tara from 'Restless'. The way Tara is looking back over her shoulder served as something of an inspiration .

New Amber Wallpaper

My plan to ask Kittens to name my website has unfortunately fallen flat on its face. Alliteration aside, as of 3/17 I will not be asking for any more submissions. I will simply take those offered and let anyone that is interested vote. You may still offer suggestions up until Monday night via replies to this thread or email. (Considering there have only been two suggestions so far, I do fear that it will be a tie with one vote each.)

After Monday I will accept votes for a week via replies to this thread or email.

Great Tara wallpaper

Hi, I just looked through your collection, and some of them are pretty cool. Like the one you used part of for your avatar. The coloring is really pretty. But, the lines are kinda sharp and jagged where you I guess cut them out of the picture? That's the same for the "seeing myself in you" wallpaper as well.



I like the wallpaper with the picture of Tara from hush, but you put a picture of Amber on the side of it. This is probably just me, but when you write Willow or Tara on a wallpaper I expect it to be them, not Amber or Alyson. And I see you've used pictures of Alyson and called it Willow and the same with Amber and Tara. Again, this is probably just a personal thing I have about that. I guess I'd prefer if you mixed the pictures and labeled them that it be either Amber or Alyson on it.



Oh also, it would probably be better when you updated that you provided a direct link to the newest wallpaper. That way people wouldn't have to go through your site searching for it.



Overall I say you have good ideas, and pretty colors. Thanks.

kbk3022 Thank you Kasey for your well thought out comments on both the wallpapers and the layout of the website. I never considered a separation between Amber/Tara and Alyson/Willow. The distinction is significant but I'm afraid I have overlooked it. I will keep that in mind for the future.

Instead of giving directions I will provide a direct link to the wallpapers in future updates. That should make it easier for everyone to view the newest wallpaper.

I thank you for taking the time to give constructive criticism. The issues you brought up have given me new ideas that will hopefully make for a better experience.

Hello Kittens,



For those of you who enjoy my wallpapers I apologize that it has been a while since I last posted. Various real-world issues have consumed the bulk of my time and mental energies.



First I would like to answer some feedback:

Jennifer Thank you. I had great source material. It's not hard to make "gorgeous" wallpaper when Amber/Tara is the subject.



Cicca She makes me wish I wish I had a bigger monitor.





For those of you not aware, I sought the help of other Kittens in deciding a name for my wallpaper website. My thanks go out to those who took the time to voice their opinions. I especially would like to thank Pipsqueak for suggesting the name that I eventually decided upon. The new name for my site is "Insect Reflections." For me, the word 'reflections' connotes visual imagery. Since that is what wallpapers are about, the choice seems appropo.



I was very fortunate to have a set of buttons donated to me by another Kitten. Lily custom made these beautiful link buttons with the new name. Thank you very, very much.



I redesigned some of the graphical elements including a new splash screen. Someone emailed me saying it reminds them of the show "Charlie's Angels" but I had no idea what they were talking about. Maybe someone else can explain it to me. New Splash Screen

Hey Kitties,



What other graphics related items are you interested in? For example, would a set of icons featuring W&T be well received?

Would anyone be interested in a screensaver that features the wallpapers I have posted here? How about the start-up screen for your PC? Instead of the image currently installed you could turn on your computer and have Tara & Willow smiling back while you wait for everything to load. Perhaps you would like a new skin for WinAmp or Yahoo IM. I'm trying to find out if there is an audience for these items rather than making them first only to find that no one wanted them made to begin with. If you think you might be interested in any of the things I mentioned then just reply in this thread and I will make said item.





SJ - I'm glad that you like the new look. Thanks again for showing support when I was trying to find a new name.



Pipsqueak - Maybe Willow doesn't want her girl to fall off the swing. More likely, she wants to be there and kiss the bumps in case there is a fall. Either way, I'm glad you liked the wallpaper.

petal of roses : It's not your imagination. There is a picture of Alyson in the lower right quarter of the picture. In fact, unless it is a work in progress, every one of my wallpapers has something hidden or barely perceptible. It's kind of like an Easter egg. Some are extremely hard to find and some are much easier. The pic of Alyson falls into the easy category. I've got a new picture of Alyson to share. I would like to give notice that this picture is different from my past postings in that the image is not suitable for wallpaper use. Not because it is pornographic or anything like that. It simply is not proportioned in a way that lends itself to wallpaper use. I hope that you don't mind the slight departure from my usual contribution.
