For All Kittens - The One shot thread

Postby maudmac » Fri Dec 27, 2002 11:30 pm

Here's a thread for you to post your short fics, poetry, videos, screensavers, wallpapers etc. So you don't have to start a thread for just one or two poems or a really short fic, if that's all you want to post. You can still start your own thread, though, if you plan on writing many poems or short fics or if you want to write a longer fic.

Anyone can post! This thread is for all Kittens!

Please make sure to read and follow the FAQ. Also, please read about what you can post on Pens. Make sure your poetry includes a description of how it applies to W/T.

Little haiku type of thing, going by the syllables anyway, heh. Was thinking of Willow and Tara's freaking hot Entropy kiss.

Forever in love

They pull each other closer

Breathless from kisses.

I feel the sudden urge to watch a certain MPEG I downloaded a few days ago courtesy of Xita. Yum. But seeing as I was going into town like half an hour ago I guess that'll have to wait. :happy

Good idea Maudmac! :grin

Here goes; this is a poem I wrote a while ago, came across recently and realised it how it was appropriate to our two lovely lasses :willow :tara

It's called 'Soulmates'. I hope you enjoy it...:shy

Like the wind that blows across the sea,

My soul had wandered from place to place,

Never resting for one moment too long,

Until the day my eyes first glimpsed your face.

I could feel my pulse skip and quicken,

Double thumping as you returned my gaze.

My mind clouded and my vision narrowed

As you floated into my heart and through the haze.

We lifted our hands at the exact same time,

Needing to check that this magic was real:

And when our fingers touched, the world stopped moving,

Pausing in response to the love we could feel.

Each day that passes from that moment on,

Is a voyage of discovery that shall never end

And though the winds still blow, they carry not my soul,

For it's united with yours my love,my friend.

:blush

Snuggles,

Pillows xxx:love

...there's a moment when I look at you, and all thought within me is lost; my tongue breaks and fire races over my skin, and I grow weak; for I am dying of such love, or so it seems to me...

Kathy! I had no idea you were stuffed full of haiku! That was really good. I hope there will be more someday.

cesario, that's nice. I like that bit about how their loved made the world pause. And how, no matter where one goes, the other is with her. Soooo true.

And here's my offering. Just a snippet, Willow and Tara in the morning, any morning, every morning.

Willow woke with a smile tickling her eyes. Insistent, hot, the sun picked its way through her freckles and settled against her eyelids.

She turned away and into the warmth of Tara's body and curled against her. Skin to skin, their hearts in tandem, Willow felt Tara slowly rising upward from sleep. Tara wound her fingers into Willow's and sighed, a cat full of what she loves most and purring with the understanding that everything is perfect.

Warm, rich silence filled the space between them. And the time between them lingered lazily before stretching, yawning, and meandering slowly toward forever.

Okay, I was bored and trying to overcome my writer's block and after all, I am a :geek so I tried to make a screensaver. It's kinda big and you probably need a decent graphics card to run it smoothly, but here goes...

www.gotlicky.com/fun4Setup.zip

It's set up as an executable file to install as your default screensaver. There are a couple more at the site but this was my favorite one so I thought I'd share.

good thread

Postby nika » Wed Nov 19, 2003 12:16 am

What a great idea. Lately I've had alot on my mind and here are two reflections of those thoughts. I have to say they remind me of Tara and the terrible fate she was subjected to on the show. They're originally penned in spanish so a lot of the rhyme is lost upon translation, sorry about that. I'm hoping they're not so bad.

Ausente

Me baño en sombras tangibles y en lagrimas de una tenue tristeza

He vivido mi muerte a través de la tuya.

Absent

I am bathed in tangible shadows and in tears of a soft sadness

I have lived my death through yours.

Recuerdo

Memory

I suffer from hunger pains and anxiety since your imaginary death within me.

I feel the despair of an insomnia inhabited night

I cry until I erase the blue skies from my sight

I bury my hands within the human clay and stone

I lay here with out you

Aware and awake, mourning in your grave, not alive and not quite dead.

Mi hábitat

Hello Kittens-

This scene didn't really fit anywhere but I thought some Kittens would like it.

“You’re leaving me?” Willow asked in a small voice.

“After last night?” Tara retorted tiredly.

“I’m sorry,” Willow said softly.

“That doesn’t help,” Tara snapped.

“Sorry,” Willow said. “No I’m not!”

“What?” Tara asked looking at her redhead.

“I’m not sorry!” Willow said firmly. “You recite Avogadro’s number like its erotica and you were swaying before that.”

“I’ve got a Nineteenth Century Music final with the Chemistry final, Willow,” Tara sighed. “I’ve got to study, not come screaming like a banshee for an hour. My God, Will, people were-w-were giving me thumbs up and really leering smiles this morning. Julie asked if I had anything special in my diet. I’ve got to get good grades for my scholarship. I’ll be back after the finals.”

“I’ve got something might help,” Willow said holding up her iPod. “I’ve recorded all the pieces you had on your computer and interspersed them with me reciting your highlighted Chem notes.”

“But…” Tara said hesitating at the door. She turned around.

“It comes with these study aids,” Willow said holding a scarf. “This closes your eyes so you can concentrate and this one-” Willow opened her robe to reveal a barely leather clad torso, “-Makes sure you get the right answers.”

Tara dropped her bag. Willow took that as a yes and walked up to her lover. She gently put the headphones on Tara after she covered Tara’s eyes with the tied scarf.

“You’ve got a lot of studying to do,” Willow said firmly. “Let’s begin.”

this was inspired by the lovely dancey scene at the end of 'family'. its not really a poem but its not a fic either its just -- errrm..a thing......(oh - and i kno the song i put in wasn't actually in it but thats justa feature of my strange imagination. :p hope u like. :pray

It was the two girls which caught you’re attention. The room was full and bustling with people, sitting, drinking, dancing and chatting. People weaved in and out of each other and jostled for seats and spaces at the bar. Conversations flowed freely aided by the same motion of the alcohol and electricity passed silently between the many couples who were flirting and dancing and tossing around their young affections. Yet it was the two girls which caught your attention.

Near the centre of the dance floor they swayed in perfect unison with each other to the slow enticing beat of the music. The singer’s powerful yet somehow, gentle voice called out the lyrics of the song;

“…and I—I will always love u----“

Their hearts reiterated the words to each other as they silently swayed among the many moving bodies. To even the most inobservant onlooker it was blatantly clear that this was an honesty beyond all others

Tara wallpaper

Postby Artemis » Wed Jul 21, 2004 2:39 am

Hello Kittens :) I've been indulging my meagre photoshop abilities lately, and managed to alter one of my favourite pieces of Warhammer 40,000 art into a sci-fi Tara wallpaper:

home.swiftdsl.com.au/~ott...xodite.jpg

The wallpaper shows Tara Songrider, an Eldar Exodite (think 'elf in space', and you're on the right track). Behind her is her jetcycle Songbird (that being the 41st millennium equivalent of a trusty horse, with the bonus that it can reach about 700mph).

Credit goes to Mike Richardson (wherever he's got to) for the original black-and-white art 'Eldar Pirate'; I did the colouring, and the alterations to make it Tara. I hope you enjoy it. I have occasionally given thought to writing a Warhammer story, with Tara as an Exodite and Willow as... I don't know, I haven't figured it out yet. I expect it's a long way off, if I do ever write it.

Awesome, Artemis. I know it's months and months after you posted this, but I've come to rather envy your art talent.
