Who the hell cooks an entire dinner consisting of roast lamb, mashed potatoes, yorkshire puddings and three veg in the middle of a freakin' heatwave?

My deranged aunt, that's who.

Actually I had one yesterday, which was the first in about 6 months. :p

Yorkshire pudding is a batter that rises wen cooked in the oven.

Some people have actually have them as a pudding but most people have them with a roast dinner.

Apologies KTV not the best desciption in the work but gives you an idea. Oo try this website its a bit better.

Yorkshire puds are GREAT! ...but as a pudding..? ew lol =P How would that work? Put jam in the middle or something? lol *is clueless*

I don't have sunday roasts either.. =D My mum's too lazy to cook actual meals anymore Lmao

You put syrup or sugar on them, like pancakes, its bests if they are abit soft. I'm not to keen either as I like yorkshire puds to by crispy.

You can stick jam or melted chocolate on them too. And they work well as dessert when they are crispy too, because you can pick 'em up and eat 'em with your hands.

Okay i have a question! Who buys them ready made (eg Aunt Bessies) and who makes them from scratch?

Everyone i ask usually buys them!

I tend to make them from scratch cos then i can make both pancakes and puds at the same time :laugh *notices you all staring at her* what its normal... :blush!

I prefer to make them from scratch but as I don't generally drink milk I never have any in the milk and they take longer to cook. I'm a bit of an impaitent cook and Aunt Bessies cook in 4 mins, so there is little contest.

It's Wednesday but tonight I'm making dinner with a side dish, rutabaga, that I associate with "Sunday Roast" type dinners since it takes about an hour to prepare it the way that I intend to (boiling for 45 or more minutes, mashing with butter and brown sugar). Chicken breasts instead of roast, though. Maybe I'll go all out and grill them instead of baking them, though!
