Any Colorado Kittens here?

So, i'm writing a story for Pens involving marriage and children in the great state of Colorado.
Willow and Tara (Surprise) live in the state and are looking at getting married, as are Buffy and Faith (Shameless Fuffy shipper).
Are there any kittens here from Colorado, and if so would you be willing to discuss what it's like 'on the ground' ?

I mean i can look up details of the laws in wiki, but i'm interested in in what it's like to live there.
or even from people who have heard stuff about what it's like there.

I live in New Zealand, so this stuff is like the dark side of the moon to me.

I worked in Colorado for some time actually.
What would you like to know?

Its a mix of the culture wars. Denver is very cosmopolitan. But Colorado springs is the head of a lot of anti-gay, far right groups.
I remember feeling agoraphobic in Denver, the skies were so wide. You could see mountains in every direction but so so far away.
I had a mild head ache for the first few days of every trip there, from the altitude.
The airport had guides who wore cowboy hats, but Denver could be a California city.
The people were nice, but not distinct if that means anything? You can tell someone from NYC and someone from Texas and so on..
But I doubt anything about someone in Denver would give away their home state.

Just what i was looking for.

Seems like gay characters in Colorado could receive the full spectrum of responses, which is awesome for a story.

Also good to know: Denver = Accepting, Colorado Springs = Not.
