We just got the Jillian Michaels exercise dvd, she's one of the trainers from the Biggest Loser series and I have long thought that she is hwat!! I don't normally do exercise DVDs but I figured that looking at her was a good way to do it.

Anyway, it's really, really good, three different levels of workout involving strength, cardio and ab rotations in short bursts. Just 20 mins a day and you get a really good all round work out. In combination with biking and playing soccer, I'm feeling pretty fit at the moment - I'll be showing off my new six pack shortly!

Six pac? Woo hoo! My wife is watching some Circus of the Stars show or something and the swimmer girl (Janet Evans) has a total six-pac and is in better shape than anyone else.

I went to spin class today and the instructor said it would be hard. And it was. Very good class. I had the HRM on 43 minutes in which time I went 417 calories and 144 av hr. The class was about 1:00 including warm up and down but I didn't want to lower my HR average.

I elipticaled for an hour this morning. I was quite exhausted since it's Friday but did it anyway. And quite a good workout. 481 calories. 129 av hr (only), 6400 steps, and 4.59 miles.

The exercise DVD is still going well, no six-pack as of yet but I'm sure it's in the works.

The DVD is actually a blessing because the weather has been so awful I havent been able to bike, walk the dogs and my soccer games keep getting cancelled.

Wow oh Wow. I just got home from the gym. I got to use the stair machine because it's the weekend and the gym I go to on the weekend has one. Kick ass. I went an hour. 304 flights! 6.34 miles! 734 calories! 171 av hr! Wow and also wow.

Now I'm on my way to try a pumpkin and crannberry cookie that Ash and Rachel made while I was gone.

Thank god the weather has cleared, today has actually dawned sunny and I was able to ride my bike to work for the first time in a week...although it was freezing cold and I wore two pairs of gloves.

Did another workout last night, using my 4kg weights instead of the 1kg ones, still no six pack but it sure hurt like hell!

I elipticaled today but I don't have the stats or anything. Basically it was about 55 minutes (I was running late) and over 4 miles and over 6000 steps.

I went to spin class today. It was a really good class with lots of breakaway intervals. 46 minutes timed. 467 calories and 153 av hr. Including warm-up and stretching it was an hour but I don't time those.

I got to go to the North gym today again because I'm working from home. Anyway, I felt kind of unfocused so it was a hodgepodge.

5 minutes treadmill to warm up
Leg press, leg lifts, leg curls (not many), lunges.
Then 35 minutes on the stairmill. 139 flights, 3.04 miles, 369 calories, 154 av hr.

I press (Bench, Shoulder, etc ;-)) on...

Maxes---

Squats: 160 lbs (8 reps)

Shoulder Press: 75 lbs (6 reps)

Calf Raises: 65 lbs (~40 reps)

Bench Press: 85 lbs (6 reps)

Leg Curl: 25 lbs (~32 reps)

Bicep Curl: 27.5 lbs (8-10 reps, each arm)

Tricep Extensions: 15 lbs (8-10 reps, each arm)

GG Finishing w/ crunches and grip strengtheners Out

Not a particularly good session (and it's been 8 days since I last lifted). Although I'm inside "in air conditioned comfort" now, somehow it STILL feels Hot! :tumble Oh well: at this time last year (in similar weather), I wasn't lifting at all! :spin

Not a good workout week. I missed Monday and Tuesday because I was up too late the night before (rotten reason Sunday night, excellent Monday night) and today I won't be going because the baby is sick so my wife and the baby were up all night so I'm watching Ash.

Still, yesterday, I did 5 minutes on the treadmill and then leg lifts, leg press, leg curls, lunges, and a ton of crunches. I didn't get back on an eliptical because, hey, I'd be spinning today, right? right? No.

Oh well.

I also posted a entry on my blog about heart rate monitors.

With the weather turning crap again (my last three soccer games have been cancelled), I've been forced to exercise indoors with my Jillian Michaels DVD, still going good, I did a session on the hardest level last night and pushed myself all the way through to do the full exercises, instead of the modified ones that make it easier...I'm still not so good with the press-ups!

Alcy - I think you have to do whatever you can sometimes.

Yesterday morning I elipitcaled for an hour. I don't remember all the stats. I think 6850 steps, 4.87 miles, 550 calories. I'm hoping to go for a bike ride later.

Another soccer game cancelled this weekend, four in a row grrr! What makes it really unbearable is the fact that the weather was worse on Saturday but all the men's divisions got to play, they ripped up the fields and then women's soccer was cancelled on Sunday. It happens all too often and it really gets up my nose!

Did two workouts on Sunday and another one yesterday to make up for the lack of soccer! Alternating between the 4kg and 1kg weights depending on the exercise!

I haven't worked out for almost a week now. That whole 'I'm going to run everyday' promise I made to myself didn't seem to come to fruition. I will definitely do something either tonight or tomorrow early morning. Either the elliptical trainer or the exercise bike. I really don't feel like going out. I will try to kill an hour and a half. We'll see if my lazy butt gets there!

i used to keep up with my exercise, but i have spent too much time watching tv & not enough keeping my body going, well ok looking good, i can be shallow.

however i have got back into the swing of things, nowhere near what i used to be, but im not doing badly. i go for walks/jogs (not really up to running yet)

i mostly do weight baring exercises, tummy, arms & legs are my main focus. My arms have already begum to develop more shape :party my tummy is getting a bit better, but my lega are being annoying; unfortunatly theyre are many leg exercises i cant due de to having a bad back :angry but im working around it.

im actually not doing to badly on the motivation front, i hope i can keep it up.

good luck everyone :)

oh p.s. i find it very annoying when peopel say im naturally slim & tonned, everyone has to work for a good body, even celebs lol

Light (non-squats) lifting day:

Maxes---

Leg Extensions: 85 lbs (12 reps)

Bench Press: 90 lbs (6 reps)

Calf Raises: 65 lbs (40 reps)

Lat Pull: 60 lbs (14 reps)

Leg Curl: 25 lbs (30 reps)

Shoulder Flies: 8 lbs (each arm, 10-12 reps)

Bicep Curl: 60 lbs (two-armed, 12 reps)

GG Finishing w/ crunches and grip-strengtheners Out

I'm fighting tendinitis in my left forearm (just below my elbow) right now---really makes those grip-strengtheners (left-handed) hurt! :happy

The whole family went hiking today. I wore the baby the entire time and Ash walked most of it which meant we didn't go that extremely fast. The dogs and all of us had a great time. I'd say that not going fast and wearing the baby the entire time cancelled out as far as the intensity of the workout. An hour and a half and very fun.

Did two work out sessions in a row yesterday because soccer was cancelled, I've definitely had my fill of mountain climbers and sumo squats for the week! I'm sure I will do another one tonight.

Hurt my back doing the vacuuming (sad I know) so that has slowed me down a little!

Today I took it pretty easy. Treadmill, leg press, leg curls, leg lifts, lunges, abs. Then done.

I went to spin (RPM) class yesterday. It was a good class and more importantly, we had a little baby shower for the instructor/her husband (who comes to the class). The presents and decorations were there and she taught and kept saying thank you and looking at all of them and then opened everything after class. I did two receiving blankets which I will have to post in hobbies. It was very fun. Oh, 52 minutes, 516 calories, 148 av hr.

I'm currently getting over the worst bout of flu I've had for years so the exercise regime has been interupted and my weight loss is not the good kind!

Played indoor soccer on Wednesday though and scored four goals so I haven't lost my touch. I hope to get back to my workouts tomorrow.
