Day of reckoning

Postby samiamiguess » Sat May 03, 2003 2:55 pm

So tomorrow it is then. Stoke need to not lose at home to Reading. Its gonna be tough. My nerves are already frayed and I've run out of beer. How I got into this mess I don't know. Its quite shameful.

As much as I enjoyed Man U's performance today it means nothing to me if Stoke are relegated. So please feel free to lend your support our way, I'd appreciate it.

So tomorrow I shall be attempting not to spend all my day watching football as I'm supposed to be moving house. We'll see how successful I am. If we lose I think I'll just head straight down the pub.

Sonya your loyalty and devotion to Stoke City have me inspired and although tomorrow I shall be on my own final nerve, I shall be cheering on Stoke as much as I can muster.

My fridge is already stocked with beer, well what is left of the 24 bottles of Stella that I started on today & the way things have been going this past few weeks I think I may need it.

YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!

*Sonya goes round hugging and kissing everyone*

I'm sorry, I shall go back to my usual demeanour but we did it. We won 1-0 and I can't believe it but Akinbiyi, Leicester's Panicbiyi was our saviour. So my lad I shall be eternally gateful to you. Thank you.

Right, 25 minutes until the Arsenal match. And I promised support so you shall get it love. Nothing could ruin this day. Dammit, why did I have go and say that?!

Life seems better at the bottom of a Stella Glass

Postby Zippy » Sun May 04, 2003 4:07 pm

Fuck!

I guess you don't need me to tell you what kind of mood I am now in, but I have been drinking for nearly 5 hours and the pain has eased a little and yes I am very very drunk.

If I was the sporting sort I would congratulate Man Utd, but I am not, So I won't bother. We lost it, they didn't win it, but in the end they are Champs and we are not. All of you who would like to have a kick at me when I am down will have to wait until tomorrow and I am sober, but be warned I am likely to throw up on your shoes.

Sonya I am so gald that things went your way today, I endured so much piss taking in the pub for cheering your team on I am gald things worked out. You know what this means though, trips to the Staduim of Shite. Oh and beer too!

The tragedy is that Leeds will not be relegated now unless West Ham win about 18-0. I like Sam Allardyce and I like West Ham...

Leeds... well not my fave team by about 18 places in the premiership.

:hmm somehow I don't think we're capable of winning 18-0 away at Birmingham....which leaves us having to do better than Bolton next Sunday. It's a shame, seeing as how I was looking forward to waving goodbye to Leeds, them being one of our many 'bogey' teams.

Champions:applause :applause :applause

Great result against Charlton, what a sublime striker Van Nistelrooy is, another superb hatrick.:bow :bow

I can't believe that I am saying this, but a big thanks to Leeds Utd for getting a result at Highbury.

Man United deserved this title and they WON it, Arsenal didn't lose it. They put a great run together from Boxing Day onwards and didn't lose one premiership match. They are worthy champions.:clap :clap

Zoe, I do know how you feel. I was at the match at Old Trafford last year, when Arsenal beat us one nil and won the championship. To say that I was gutted is a total understatement. My misery was compounded by one of my friends, Carl, (an Arsenal nut) who phoned me continually throughout the match to tell me how shit Man Utd were.

Carl, hasn't taken any of my calls this weekend, although I am sure that he has read my text messages.:wink

I am already looking forward to next season.

Well, Bolton are winning 2-0 and we aren't playing like a team that needs to win to have any chance of staying in the premier league. Trev needs to put a stick up their arse at half time. All the hard work they've put in for the past month will be for nothing if they just go back to being the crap West Ham of the first 3/4 of the season.

eta: Sonya, looks like we'll be joining you next season. On that performance, we deserve it. I swear if my Dad rings me to rub it in, he'll be told in no uncertain terms where to go.

Some say they're going to a place called Glory and I ain't saying it ain't a fact,

First off, Ha Ha Ha, sorry but Liverpool do not deserve a Champs League spot so Well done to Chelsea.

Also I a big well done to Bolton, I didn't see their game, too busy cheering on Birmingham City, but they really played their hearts out and deserved to stay put.

Gerrard is a dirty sod. He really is. He can play really well but his tackles just makes me cringe sometimes.

I now await to see if Di Canio's head can actually get any bigger now that he must surely believe he is God after scoring again.

So yes Poppy, bring on the Hammers next season. With our own particular brand of um flare, should be a classic. heh.

I don't think a player scoring 9 goals in a season makes them God. Maybe if he'd shown more spirit in some of our previous matches, we wouldn't have been in this position. Yes he has talent, but he spends too much of the game having no effect whatsoever. I think he'll have to be looking at a huge wage cut to get a contract anywhere next season, even if Harry does want to team up with him again at Portsmouth.

I think some of our players will be a tad disappointed when no one comes in for them, most notably, Trevor Sinclair. Yes I think he played well in the World Cup, but since then he's done fuck all for us. Given the current climate, I'd be very surprised if we managed to get rid of more than a couple of our players. Thankfully, quite a few are out of contract at the end of the season, so I'd be surprised if we find ourselves in the position that say, Leicester were in this season. Hopefully we can cash in on Jermaine Defoe and fund wages for the season from his sale without having to give too many players away on free transfers.

So, the season has just ended and already I'm wondering what I'm going to do with my Saturday afternoons now I won't be listening to the football!

My team, Aston Villa, didn't have the best of seasons, but next season will be our year! I'm taking the fact that Villa will be playing a couple of pre-season matches here in Ireland as a good omen!

I love my Love, and well she knows
I love the ground whereon she goes

I hope we get promoted through the playoffs this season! :pray :pray :pray - go Forest - kick Sheffield butt! I'll shut up now! :lol

I am going to chime in with my support for Nottingham Forest. I have already cried about the footy this season, I don't really want to listen to my brother cry down the phone because his beloved reds missed out on there long overdue return to the top flight.

The fact that I have money riding on the outcome of the play off's has nothing to do with this support at all. :whistle

Yet another one cheering for Forest here, my gf being a fan and all. Even if she wasn't I'd want them to beat Sheffield because Neil Warnock's a whinging git.

Ok, here we go again, one last time. Holy shit I am nervous, I have only just crawled out of bed so I could avoid worrying about the game all morning (and well I can be a lazy sod too).

Not long to go now and I am about to push off to the pub. I only have one thing left to say.

Ok...I just watched the last few minutes of some match (southampton & arsenal I think) - and there was a streaker in the very last few minutes. What side did he support?

Do they have streakers to come on to distract players from free kicks? And are they allowed?

And why do they never have them in darts matches?

Congratulations Arsenal, and Zoe in particular.

Glad the best team in England didn't finish the season without a cup this year :)

Of course, you'll have to watch out for the resurgence of Aston Villa next season, so don't get too complacent :whistle
