Hey kittens,

I thought I would post another picture. I took this picture, as I did the other one above, at the zoo here a couple of weeks ago. I really love this picture. :heart

Great pictures Jen. I especially like the one of the tiger, very cute. :) I'd like to go to the local zoo here and take pictures but there aren't any cool animals like tigers and bears. We have some chickens and one snake, maybe if I'm lucky I'll find a monkey. Our zoo here is pathetic, I have better animals here at home. :lol

That tiger pic is especially great, how did you take it? It looks like you must have been lying in the grass close to it. Is it taken from behind glass? I don't see it, but I don't see bars either.

Greenneutron: Those snake pics are soooo gorgeous. I love snakes so much...I really want a Burmese or Royal Python, but my Mom won't let me get one, not any snake actually. she wouldn't let me get a girlfriend either, but I did that anyway... do you think she'd notice a bp in my little 6' by 8' room??? lol. please post more of the little ball python though, he's so cute!

There are some great pics here guys. Jenn: I love the tiger, he's great.

I'll maybe post some of my pics when I'm not so tired. It's a ridiculous time of day here in the UK, so I can't really remember how to access the ones I have on the web already. Maybe I should get some sleep....

Anyway, lots more pics, please.

Awesome pic's kittens!

I am very excited to announce that a) I'm going back to school and b) I was accepted to the photography program! There was a HUGE subscription (over 3000 ppl)and but they only took 59 of us! The beginning of the year will be film photography, but then it will focus mainly on digital, so I hope i get to share some funky pictures with everyone! (and share some cool tricks too!)

Long Beach Grand Prix

Postby BBOvenGuy » Sun Apr 18, 2004 12:58 am

Some shots from today's activities at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach:

Alex Tagliani locks up his brakes.

Justin Wilson gets used to "sunny California" weather. (ha ha ha)

Oh, and here's one of Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin in the Pro-Celebrity race, where he finished fourth among the celebrities and sixth overall.

I also put some shots of Toyota Atlantic driver Danica Patrick in the Motor Sports thread if you're interested.

More from Long Beach - I got my film back yesterday.

I was trying to use the water on the track to capture more of a sense of speed in the cars. I'm not sure how well I did. See what you think:

Alex Tagliani

Alex Sperafico

Mario Dominguez (1)

Mario Dominguez (2)

Ryan Hunter-Reay

Judging from the negatives, it looks like I got a spectacular shot of Danica Patrick, but it was the first frame on a roll of film that I hadn't advanced far enough when I loaded it, so half of it was cut off. :happy I may try to get a print of it anyway, just to see what might have been.

I have no idea where to put this. If I'm in the wrong thread or even the wrong forum, I apologize and hope that a moderator will move it.

I've updated my Location Shoot website, adding some new photos of places that were already on it, and also adding shots of various locations used on Charmed. (Yes, I'm branching out from those other two shows.) You can find it here:

some more pictures, yay!

Postby maudmac » Mon Apr 26, 2004 9:57 pm

Took these last Friday. Some are from an old cemetery (most of the headstones bear birth and death dates between the 1820s and 1900 or so, with a few death dates into the 1940s) and some from DeSoto State Park.

of such is the kingdom of god

Title taken from the epitaph on one of the (broken) headstones. Interesting. ;)

And don't ask what the purple thing is in this one. I have no clue and it showed up in more than one picture of that same spot, taken from a different angle. But it was blue and a foot or so to the right of this purple one. I'm going with the theory that it's some odd light refraction on a spider web, but after much close examination, I'm still not sure how that works. If anyone has an explanation besides that it's faeries or a ghost, I'd love to hear it, because I'm truly at a loss to explain it.

Interesting stuff Holley. But you need to stop taking pics of spiders :smash

As for the purple thing. There's something called Chromatic Aberrations (aka purple fringing) but this doesn't look like it. So I have no idea what that is? Very weird.

Hey again!

I've been using my camera a lot these past few days, so here's a few pictures of my beautiful city (click to enlarge) ;)

First, a panoramic view from Montmartre (Sacré Coeur):

On the right, you can see the Montparnasse tower sticking up... (the Eiffel Tower is even further right ;) )

Then, a panoramic view from the tower at theButtes Chaumont:

You can see the Sacré Coeur on the left! ;)

Pretty cool, huh? :)

Photos from Alabama

Postby BBOvenGuy » Sun May 02, 2004 2:00 pm

I spent much of last week on business in Alabama, and while I was there I made a couple of side trips and saw a couple of sights.

Here's the Irondale Cafe, the real place that was the inspiration for the "Whistlestop Cafe" in Fried Green Tomatoes. And it really is alongside a train station.

Here's an interesting-looking bridge that was on the golf course at the resort where my conference was being held.

And I don't know about you, but I thought these signs looked pretty scary. :shock

This is the beach by my school. Once I realized where we were (a couple of friends had driven) I saw this rollarcoaster in the distance and I knew that I had riden it as a kid. It was just randomly nice.

Garfield,

Quote:

:grin Actually, there is one side of the Tiger enclosure that does have glass, but the other side doesn't. There is a fence around the area, but no wire. It's just open over the top of the fence. I like it that they have it that way. I mean, the fence is tall enough so Mr. Kitty can't get out or someone can't climb over it, but the setup is nice.

And thank you all for the compliments on my pictures. I love taking pictures of the big cats. It's a passion, I guess you would say.

Here's some more:

This is our resident Bald Eagle. He's very pretty to look at in person.

How about a Lioness? I thought she looked very cute dosing off there. :)

And last but not least, here's a furry little Raccoon.

I have a couple more if you guys want to see them.

Let me know.

Re: Berlin Pics

Postby hellyeahallday » Wed May 26, 2004 7:29 am

I took these on my trip to Berlin in February. Lots of the Berlin Wall, a couple from Sachsenhausen and other WWII memorial type places. Some just of stuff I wanted to take pictures of, so there :p , hehe. I cannot express how much I enjoyed this trip. Most of them are awful, I know this :blush . But feel free to give them a slating anyway :) .

Photo Advice Needed

Postby BBOvenGuy » Mon May 31, 2004 1:33 pm

The Ventura County Fair is coming this summer, and I plan to enter this year's photography exhibition. There's a whole mess of divisions and classes, and at the moment I'm trying to figure out which of my shots I want to enter.

I've set up a website with my "finalists," and now I'm looking for some opinions on which ones look best. If anyone's interested, you can click below and check them out:
