Ohhh Sarah Waters is awesome - are you enjoying Tipping the Velvet? Have you read Fingersmith? I just got Affinity, but I have a stack of books next to my bed that I have to get through before I'll let myself start Affinity. Currently reading Atlas Shrugged (Ayn Rand), Horse Whisperer (Nicholas Evans), and The World is Flat (Thomas Friedman).

I just finished rereading The Blue Sword and Hero and the Crown and am reading Eragon for the first time. I was rereading Fellowship of the Ring but I set it aside for my new books.

"So This Is Readin'?" by Tripp Underwood. It's a book written by the bass player from the punk band The Unseen and it's all about his life on the road and the rise of the band from one that played in people's back gardens to a band that has their own tours around the whole world. It's not been proof read or anything so it has some spelling and grammar mistakes - so cute!

I just finished Eragon which was good but quite longer than I thought. Next is a book my wife wants me to read on parenting. I forgot the name.

Have just finished reading Flags of our Fathers by James Bradley - a fantastic book with strong personal stories coming through, highly reccommended.

Am reading at the moment Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman. I thought I would read the series before the first movie comes out (I'm looking forward to it because of that great combination of Eva Green and Danial Craig!) It's an impressive read, I can see that the movies may have a very dark tone indeed. I don't enjoy the books as much as Harry Potter though, J.K Rowling's world feels as though it has more depth.

Just finished The Night Listener, by Armistead Maupin.

It's a good little read. Kinda like popcorn - nothing filling, but you just keep eating.
Didn't make me like Maupin any more than I did before (which wasn't much), but I have to give it credit for real world weirdness/creepiness.

Have you read the sequel? It's called Son of a Witch...Liir being the main character

Right now I am reading Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore
He is a deeply twisted man and I find him hilarious...after this there are only two more of his that I haven't read...

And waiting on deck is Warrior Queen about the awe-inspiring Boadicea (or Boudicca if you prefer) hoping the fact that it's a novel doesn't make it suck like the Masterpiece Theatre travesty that I couldn't even finish watching despite the luscious Alex Kingston

I'm currently reading Witch Child and Tomorrow when the war began since my English students are reading those, and a bunch of Astrid Lindgren's books since I'm tutoring a student who is writing an essay on her books.

I don't think I've read that a thousand times but probably a hundred, easily. I sometimes just pick it up to read over the course of a day. I love it.

Oh, Annie on my mind, I love that book. I'm reading it again for about the hundred time, this time for English class and I have to write book review of it.
Oh, and I like very much poem that's in it. I can't remember who wrote it, Someone Henley.
I write about leaves falling like snow//darkening the ground//About escape to despair//grief so essential//
Sadness greeted with tears of joy//
So I could dwell in my own pain//break through the bottom//and get saved from the light

Ooo yes. I really enjoyed Annie on my Mind. Loved it actually. Sat in Borders for a whole afternoon to read the book twice lol.

And the poet is actually William Ernest Henley, with his poem Invictus.

I've just finished reading Enduring Love by Ian McEwan and am just starting on Mrs Dalloway, Virginia Woolf.
