I ellipticaled today. I normally would spin but a combination of I couldn't find my HRM strap (found it later) and not wanting to talk to people got me on the elliptical. So one hour. 7100 steps. 4.70 miles.

Miller - sorry to hear. Take it easy. Maybe some yoga.

Yesterday I did stair and elliptical. Stair 15 minutes, 55 flights, 1.14 miles. Elliptical 45 minutes. 4000 steps. 3.11 miles. 476 calores. 131 av hr.

Today I went for a good bike ride. 58 minutes. 643 calories. 151 av hr.

Yesterday we got the clipless pedals put on. I rode around the block clipping in and out. Then came to a stop clipping out but leaned the other way and fell down. Boo hiss. Did fine today.

Thank you mate - just checked out the spelling on my last post - Christ I was in pain...Feeling a bit better and a friend taught me some pilates-type exercises at the weekend which, along with the exercises my physio taught me and the spinal manipulation/accupuncture I'm feeling a bit better - not kick ass better but better.

Hope you have a good week...

Millerchip77 - awesome. Cool to do it yourself.

I ellipticaled yesterday. 60 minutes. 7175 steps. 4.77 miles. I forgot to turn on my HRM to start so in 50 minutes, I did 463 calories and 140 av hr.

Miller - how about swimming? That's very very low impact but a good workout. Anyway, I've hardly gotten my own workouts in this week.

I went down the gym that's open early today. Used a very hard elliptical machine. 60 minutes. 4.11 miles. 4100 steps. My HRM battery died so no stats on that.

Just spoke to my physio - I'm 90% better but he said I'm not allowed to train until next week! Boo! I'm allowed to stretch and do low impact stuff so thanks JustSkipIt - I'm gonna walk today and swim tomorrow and build up to a run and some shadow sparring by the end of the week. I'm so pissed off - I feel all squidgy and I haven't been punched in the face for two weeks :happy

Miller - Well next week is better than three weeks from now or something. Low impact is not bad either. Hope it gets better.

I ellipticaled today. I really wanted to make it 5 miles and did. 8100 steps. 5.05 miles in an hour. Unfortunately my battery in my hrm died and I have one but I set it somewhere (in the house) so I could change it and can't remember where (believe that this is entirely and highly common). I just kept saying to my wife, "I put it somewhere." And she said, "Yes, honey. I know you. I'm sure you did." I should have given it to her yesterday when I got it out.

BTW, I'm on Facebook if you want to friend up. Anyone, not just Millerchip.

Last month I left my wallet on the roof of my car and drove away while visiting the in-laws. A woman found it and sent it back and the day I got it, I lost it and my cell phone for another 20 hours until my wife found both of them.

I went to spin class today and it was really great. It was a new release and was harder than usual. No HRM so no idea on that but an hour of hard workout. Tomorrow is a day off for me.

I decided to ride my bike around 10 miles to get to and from my voting precinct. I was pumped to vote and to exercise! Florida has redeemed itself (except for that little issue of amendment 2.)

Today was a lifting day. Believe me, I'd rather cardio but I know I need to lift. So I did 20 minutes treadmill, leg presses, leg lifts, lunges, ham curls, lat pulls, db press, shoulder press, db curls, tri kicks, and abs.

Miller - so awesome to hear. Smoking is bad! Hear?

I worked out on Saturday morning. Stairs for 20 minutes. 71 flights. 1.51 miles. Then ellipticaled for 40 minutes. 4775 or something like that steps, 3.10 miles. I finally got a battery in my watch so I should be back to HR tomorrow morning for spin.

Oh Sunday, I walked around Ren Fest, part of the time with Ash on my shoulders so that counts for something.

I know, I know - and believe me it'll be a while before I do it again - I felt like someone had stamped on my chest the next day...

So went training last night - we did leg work. I learned the half moon kick. This morning I can barely walk!!

My partner has begged me not to circuit train and kickbox today on account of my back - grr - she's right though (as usual ;-) )

Miller - did she want you to do any workout? Just not those two? Plus, didn't you wake up with a headache? Or something.

I ellipticaled Tuesday. Um. 4.84 miles. I remember that. Some steps. Some calories. 560? something? Today was spin class. It was a different instructor but I really liked her. Very perky. Really. Especially considering that it was a 5:30 am class. I timed 40 minutes and got 414 calories, 150 av. hr. Very good day.

Hey mate - she didn't want me to do both circuits and kickboxing on the same day as I usually do on a Wednesday...I should really ease back into things, it's hard though when you've been out of a routine - you just wanna get back into it as fast as possible.

I can't believe you went to a 5:30am spin class - you have won my undying admiration. My gym doesn't open till 7am and I don't usually make an appearance until lunchtime.

Last night kickboxed again, learned the 'overhand' punch - was tricky. Today trainig again or maybe going to gym - haven't decided which. I stall can't do both.

Lol. You haven't gone back and read old postings here have you? And why would you? What could be more boring? That's rhetorical. When I get to workout it's because I get up at 5:00 to do so. First, I'm a morning person. I can't sleep past about 6:00 or maybe 6:30 even if I tried and I honestly don't remember the last time that I even had the chance to sleep in. I either get up and go to the gym or I get up and play with my son (also a morning person) so my wife can sleep. Basically, part of the deal is that I can go workout as long as I do my best to have my workouts not interfere with out life. My gym doesn't open until 8:00 on the weekends which pisses me off but I just started going to a branch that is farther away but is open 24/7. It's not as nice but it works. Today I set the alarm for 5:30 to sleep in but got up at 5:20 because I was awake anyway.

While there I did 19 minutes on the stair machine (I was dying and the air was really cold so it was hurting my lungs). That was 70 flights and 1.50 miles. Then I did 41 minutes on the elliptical which was 4700 steps and 3.07 miles. Then I stretched. Total calories burned was 604 and av hr was 144.

My normal weekday goes like this:

5:00 get up and dress quickly, feed the dogs, let them out and in.
5:20 - 5:30 arrive at the gym. Do a spin class or elliptical or lift.
6:30 shower and dress at the gym.
7:00 catch the bus downtown.
7:30 arrive at work and eat breakfast and lunch there.
3:50 leave work to catch the bus home. I should work until 4:00 but it would make the bus a 1/2 hour later and no one notices.
4:45 get home, clean the kitchen or fold laundry or do laundry or play with the kids or cook dinner or all of the above.
6:30 - 7:30 put my son to bed.
7:30 + hang with the wife and baby, do a craft or read, pack the multiple bags I need for the next day.
10:00 go to bed to do it again.

Crazy, huh? Last year while pregnant, one day my wife said that she knew I would have an affair. A good friend said that she had never met anyone who had a schedule less compatible with having an affair. LOL.

I ellipticaled yesterday morning (yes, at 5:20). I wanted to go 5 miles and made it. 60 minutes. 7970 steps. 5.05 miles. 563 or 583 calories, 145 av hr. I think I'm going to start working at a higher crossramp or resistance because I don't think I can run faster for an entire hour.

Today is a day off because I gave blood yesterday.

Wow mate you are going for it - I have to. Am throwing myself in at the deep end and starting up sparring again tomorrow night. I am going to Australia next April and can't be near a beach in my current state!!!

Don't know where I got your 5am gig from - must've clicked on an old page by mistake. But wow - 5:20 this am - I was awake then but that was because of the neighbor's dog not my regime...

Training tonight too - it's arms this week which is good coz it was legs last.

Miller - no. You're right on about my workouts. Usually 5:00 or 5:30. Today I didn't get up until 5:30 but was at the gym right around 6:00. I've had a very bad week of not getting to workout due to various and sundry kid-not-sleeping issues.

But today Stair 71 floors. 151 miles. Elliptical. 5000 steps. 357 miles. 686 calories. 164 av hr. Very good workout. I'm planning to go tomorrow morning as well.

I had a good week. Wednesday - went to circuits class (1hr) then kickboxing training (45 mins); Thursday - Kickboxing training then a sparring class - I got punched in the nose - ouch!; Friday - played badminton with my dad - he won but only just and in my defence I wasn't wearing my glasses so could barely see the shuttlecock!

Miller - that sounds good although ouch for your poor nose.

I ellipticaled today while watching Sports Center. 60 minutes. 7970 steps. 4.99 miles (boo hiss for not making 5.00). 588 calories. 146 av hr.

Thursday the family went to the Turkey Trot. We only did the 1 mile but I walked to and from as well as running/walking/doubling back to go with my son. Then I carried him on my shoulders for a good part of it.

Today I did cardio. 20 miinutes on the stair machine - 68 flights, 1.something miles. 41 minutes on the elliptical. 3.38 miles. 5770 steps or something like that. Total was 663 calories, 155 av. hr.

Had a good week - circuits last monday (and again today) then kickboxing on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday and a mega 2 hour work out on Saturday at the gym. On Sunday I had a grading - which I passed - yaay! So I now have 2 tags on my yellow belt and will go up to orange in 2 weeks (if I pass). So excited - still can't do the really cool backflippy thing that Buffy does, but I'll get there ;)

Yesterday, an hour of DDR at a very challenging level for me. Then afterward an hour of... another physically strenous activity.

Gonna have to work out today, or tomorrow I'm not gonna be able to move...
I'll be everything that I want to be,
I am confidence in insecurity.
I am a voice yet waiting to be heard,
I'll shoot the shot, bang, that you hear 'round the world.

Sounds like fun

Did an hour's kickboxing training last night - 15 mins warmup then 45 mins shadow sparring - it nearly killed me. Still, I kicked imaginary butt - grr!

I've got a new toy! :party

After feeling my existing work-out equipment wasn't working my lats enough, I shelled out $29.95 (please don't tell me if you got one for less :paranoid) for an Iron Gym pull-up bar.

Now, I can't do a REAL pull-up to save my soul, but I also purchased a plastic footstool, so I can do cheater pull-ups! (Y'know, w/ a little assist from one leg? ;-)) Maybe one of these days, after enough cheaters, I'll be able to do 'em for real? :pray

GG I used it for the first time today, and I'm starting to feel the onset of DOMS . . . ergo, it's working! :smug Out
