10 years after I graduated high school, my little sister STILL doesn't have to buy any school supplies because my stack of different colored pens/markers/notebooks/binders and other generic school-items hasn't run out.

This is 6 years of college, 2 siblings with a combined number of 7 high school and 4 college years later in which all of us have barely bought anything new for home or school uses and even my dad grabs pens and notebooks from the box. We're down to a shoebox size now though :haha

That's what you get for giving a nerd a budget for school supplies each year and telling her that whatever is NOT spent on that has to be paid back :geek STOCKING UP ENOUGH SCHOOL SUPPLIES TILL THE END OF THE WORLD!*

Football tickets for our club got even more expensive... It's ridiculous. There go all my hopes to go as many times as I did in the 2011/2012 season. Well, at least I'll get a chance to see them play our biggest rivals in 6 weeks. :)

My best friend and I once again talked on the phone so long, we got disconnected (happens automatically after two hours)... It was fun and made me realise, how much I actually miss him. Can't believe we haven't spoken in so long.

Last night (completely sober and wide awake) I had trouble remembering what age I am. My birthday was over 9 months ago.

I know an absurd number of birthdays (family, friends, former-friends/exes, kids I've worked with, even a couple actors), but I managed to completely forget my sister's last weekend.

The only thing I can remember from college oceanography is the bizarre and random phrase, "There are salicious spicules in the mezzagleam" no doubt spelled incorrectly, too. Class was once a week for three hours - 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. and I could barely stay awake . . plus my first lover to be was in the same class . . .

•Great Britain was known as the land of Albinos and hence its name was Albion. Britannia, the word used by the Romans for the British Isles, gave rise to the name Britain.
•The word 'great' was prefixed to the word 'Britain' to name the political unit of Britain. So Britain is an island while the geopolitical unit is referred to as Great Britain

I don't hate recordings of my voice anymore (at least not singing), but I don't know if I'll ever be able to like it, cause it sounds so completely different from what I hear in my head.

Burmese cats have very strong voices and are very affectionate, forming a strong bond with their owners. Other characteristics of Burmese cats include an inclination to climb curtains and sit on doors. These cats are easily trained to use a scratching post to help conserve the owner's furniture and carpets. Burmese cats are also very friendly and curious even towards complete strangers. Some are athletic, brave and humorous, and may show remarkable ingenuity, particularly in finding warm places. These cats tend to follow their owners everywhere, even to the point where they may become a bit odd.

Except the strangers part that describes my kitty Lilly!

Her name was actually 'Margarete Steiff' and Steiff bears and other stuffed animals are still very popular, at least here in Germany, even though they are very expensive (30 € for a small turtle, I considered buying one just a few days ago). They are not very cuddly though, they are traditionally pretty hard (to keep the posture I guess), which is funny because 'steif' is the German word for 'stiff'.

Wow yes that's expensive Margarete is the german version of Margaret and sorry I spelled steiff wrong! :)

And I was wrong as well, I have a Steiff teddy bear here at home which is very cuddly. I guess they are doing a retro thing with the current models.

OT: Portuguese traditionally eat Bacalhau on christmas, which is some kind of dried fish. I learnt this from one of my elementary school kids a few days ago whose family is from Portugal. She doesn't like it though, so she gets fish sticks. Close enough :)

Fact: "Winter Song" was released (and being played constantly) at the exact same time I discovered the KB and Willow/Tara fanfiction.

Accompanying ramble: Now every time I hear it, I get this wonderful feeling of nostalgia and joy and love for W/T and you guys and realise how lucky I am to be part of such a fantastic community. There's a commercial over here which is shown very regularly that features the song, so I've been given a lot of opportunity to get with the good feelings. It's really one of those little moments I truly treasure.

Happy Holidays everyone :)

I went cross-country skiing for the first time today. It was utterly terrifying at first, but after an hour or so it didn't feel like torture anymore, and after two it was almost okay. I only fell 3 or 4 times, but that's mostly cause my best friend kept catching me when I was trying to go downhill.

Yesterday, I had a long walk from the animal shelter toward work. I spent the entire 3 miles that I was walking on the highway listening to the Once More With Feeling soundtrack, dancing and singing along. In addition to just loving the songs from OMWF, it made me damn happy to know I was being extremely weird :D

As I was peeing I discovered One Direction looking at me. They are on the cover of Colgate toothpaste that one of the kids have. Are you serious??? :eyebrow

What's funnier the kid with the messy hair going all over the place is sooo me. My hair is the same way. :P

One more random fact...in Penn State I took a picture of a marquee outside a dentist office that read this: Justin Bieber Tickets with a full set of braces! LOL. I have the picture to prove this.
