I'll be at the convention all weekend, not sure about booking a room up at the hotel but it's an idea. After the convention though no plans so far, though hopefully something that all aged Kittens can do.

I think I should be coming if i can get these new jobs to let me off...lol but yeah...my only problem is...can anyone point me in the direction of either maybe someone to room wiht who i could help pay for a hotel with..or a cheap hotel to stay in over the weekend...and if anyone would be willing to pick up a lone kitten from the airport??? hehe... I want to come badly..but i need help..i'm to young to get a car to rent...damn age limit...

Welp everyone, I have bad news.... AGAIN . I just recieved orders back to my favorite place in the whole wide world. So, with that said, I just screwed myself $1100 bucks and I miss the prime and probably only opportunity to meet any of my favorite kittens. Just to tell you guys a little story... One day while I was sitting at work, I stopped, leaned back in my chair and started thinking about what the frilly heck was I going to say to any of the kittens I was planning on seeing. I mean, holy moly, "Hi, I'm Aaron?" That sounded such like a dork. So, instead of working those last 4 hours, I decided to do a full shopping spree on OldNavy.com and started working on my lines. I know, prepping for something like a gathering ever works, but I'm a dork, gotta do something to cover it up.



Anyway, orders came down from (probably the house that is painted white) for a selected group of people to head back out to *You know where* to do some work. THIS has being the only time I really stood up and voiced the fact that I did not want to go and I had arrangements already made. But, thinking that I am in my own little world, I kinda forgot that when they ask me to bark, I (instinctively) should ask what kind of dog and how loud. But, I leave on the second week of August and won't be back for a while. You guys have always been such a great family to me and I just ask you guys to keep a prayer around for me, =) . Anyhoo, for all you that do get to go to CHI, HAVE A BLAST AND TAKE TONS OF PICS!!! Take care all and I will talk to you's later. B-bye.



P.s. I will be on the board here and there until I leave and then it is up in the air from that point on... =)

Aaron, I'm sorry to hear that you will have to miss the Chicago Kitten Gathering!! And especially, I'm sorry that you have to miss it due to a recall to a very unpopular tourist spot. Look forward to meeting you.... eventually.



My tentative plans are to drive with GG to the Chicago Area on Friday & stay until late Sunday/early Monday. Exact times & dates have to wait upon my employment situation. I won't have to start work until late August/early September, but I have to do the moving thing..... no, I don't know where, yet... but... we'll see what happens...

Well, some kittens want to meet Friday night. Perhaps, because of time, and that some may not have transportation, we should meet somewhere in the environs of the 'con/hotels..... 5 or 6 o'clock?? later?? no endtime need be specified.



On Sunday, sometime around noon or 2pm we could meet somewhere else. Perferably, somewhere accessable to public transportation. I like Moody's, but I don't know what transportation is like around there. There's also the Lakefront/Downtown area... Millenium Park/Grant Park?



As far as getting there, if someone's really stuck, I'm sure something could be worked out.



Any other suggestions???

Well Grant Park is easily gotten to with transportation I mean you have the train as well as cabs, and The big Ol' Buckingham Fountain is there too as a land mark to meet up at. Otherwise Navy Pier enterance as a meetup, though there is the whole finding parking and all for those that drive. I'm up for any idea just giving you all some of mine.

Okay so I'm scrolling through the thread and thinking has anything been planned for next weekend say around 10/11 at night? I was thinking of taking the kittens on a tour of Halsted and N clark. As in tour I mean bar hopping the gay clubs. There are several. Feel free to PM me about whatever..



Uhm also if anything is planned for Sunday can it be after 2? I have the last wedding brunch before I'm free..

So if the club crawl idea is a go for Friday, where and when would everyone meet? Would getting together maybe at 8 beforehand at whatever hotel is near the con be a good idea and then go from there? Sort of get a head start on things as it were? Time is getting short so a good meeting place and time would be a good idea.

I'm actually thinking I might not be able to do anything untill sunday. The rehersal dinner is running later then I thought, and I have to be up at 7:30 the next morning for the wedding. If everyone is still doing the gay pub crawl, Halsted and Belmont is the place to be. If everyone is cabbing it, I would recommend meeting at Spin and working your way down halsted. Just follow the phalnax rainbow towers. It's an awesome street with many shops and things along the way.



Garner I believe has my cell phone number and hopefully I can meet everyone sunday afternoon after my brunch thing.

If someone doesn't choose a meeting place soon, I'm going to suggest Cracker Barrel!!! (& if you don't know why, slap your hand or someplace else of choice) [definite threat]



I don't know any of the restaurants or bars around the convention center... someone, even if you don't want to make a decision, give us some possible places.... no, you aren't going to make everyone happy, but if you start with some place names, then SOMEONE can make a decision.



Suggestion about TYPE of place... somewhere where we can hang from 6pm to ?? that has food, drink (booze & non-booze) and where under-21 kittens can join us. ALSO, someplace that is not too much of a walk for those staying in the vicinity of the convention center.



When we get there, we can discuss the gay club crawl.



TIM &/or WiccanIllusion: can you give us the names of some places as possible meeting spots?? It would really be helpful.

Okay, since no one else has set an exact time and place, let me try!



I am only going to set it for Friday evening and then we all can go from there!!



here it is...



FRIDAY: Meeting Place- Denny's, 17 W. Algonquin Rd. (847-593-3240)

It is only 5 miles from the Convention Center. I choose this location since it is open 24 hrs. We can all meet up there and then figure the rest out.



I would say a good time to meet would be between 8 and 9. This will allow for the Kittens coming in on Friday to get there ( Yes that includes me!)



I can email you the directions form the convention center to Denny's for those who need it, just let me know.



Well, I hope to see many of u there!!
