i think so. i mean, intuitive people are usually more sensitive to their surroundings than the non-intuative ones, so i guess their gaydars are stronger, i suppose. :p

wow after reading all this I know my gaydar is broken... usually what I do is send my best friend in ahead of me she is the best lesbian and bi girl attractant I have found so far.. send her into a room and if there is a gay women in it she will find her and be cuddling her with in less then an hour depending on the size of the room. me I have to resort to the old T-shirts saying "lets get something straight, I'm not" or lately its what part of "I'm not much one for the timber" don't you understand. I guess I'm just doing something wrong:kitty

My gaydar friggin' sucks. I have worked with this guy for over a year now, and I am still wondering about him. :hmm I suspect he is and others agree, but sometimes I'm not so sure. :confused

He's been playing this game lately of talking about a relationship, but never using a pronoun. *Hee hee I played the Pronoun Game for a while*I was so close to asking him the other day when we had a smoke, but I chickened out. I didn't want to embarass him or me if I was wrong or out of line.

It's just this nagging feeling....and his knowledge of musicals. I think I'll ask him what his thoughts are on Barbara Streisand. :kiss

hehe. I play guitar and in order to press down the strings i need short nails on my left hand and in order to fingerpick i need long nails on my right. I've had them that way for a while, i don't think many people notice though. It's handy, and fitting i guess cos I'm bi :)

oh c'mon you guys, your gaydars can't be that bad. just read the following: body language, eye contact, subtle flirting, elbow-touching, nails... and most importantly, the aura. there definitely is the aura... i mean it is not 100% accurate but somehow, you'd be amazed at the results. :p

slayes 747....

me and my friends (the girls - not gay) are all very "touchy".....

so that hole phisical thing doesnt always work , cause a lot of the girls ive met (work , Uni ) tend to be "touchy".....but not gay.......so even when im like..... " well she wouldnt touch me like that unless she was gay "..... i usally find out the next day she .... has a boyfriend are , moving in with her bf....are getting married to her bf (these all happened to me - well except the getting married one....lol)

so , i think with girls...its way harder to tell.....and i can "proydly " announce.........my gaydar SUCKS!!!!!!

btw... i have long polished nails.....what does that mean ???

i'm just saying that sometimes those things do work. especially when you're out yourself. and i never said that it is 100 percent accurate. :peace

anyway, as for long polished nails...please don't take it personally...but the first thing that will probably come into my mind when/if i date a girl with long polished nails is: "ouch." :peace

well u know when my gaydar gives off the right signals is at sci fi and anime conventions. place that are normally very gay friendly. but you know what kind of gets me in a bad way is that sometimes we get silly or other people get silly and start things like wearing signs that say kiss me I'm lesbian or Hug me I'm bi. me I prefer more random and bold things. but this seems to bother some straight people usually girls taht I hear comeplain about it either there at the con or later on there web journals. what I have to say to that is well why not give ur gaydar and other gaydar some help when u can.. so that not everyone walks around assuming everyone else is straight. but anyway thats just me and my friends so maybe we count as gaydar difficent or something:sob

minn, actually i get your sentiment. there are many signs and symbols that are associated with being gay. but i do agree that some of them are really loud. and yes, some of my friends (even myself sometimes) find them offensive. basically my gaydar rely on actions, not the flags/buttons. because you know, some people, even when they are straight, find the buttons cool and wear them without really knowing what the buttons stand for. anyway, i don't know if i made sense... so... there. :p :peace

slayer...

Think you are absolutely right about the fact that some people just display things without knowing what they stand for.

A friend of mine has a daughter who is 19 and cute. She fell in love with the rainbows that said things about "family" and diversity. She put them all over her car and at the last concert she went to, couldn't figure out why all these girls were coming up to her car and asking her out! :p

Had a little talk with her and she was like, OH!! She has no problem with gays, however she is not. Modified her choice of stickers, and all is well.

I think the best bet is going with your gut feelings, take a chance and ask while saying first "I don't mean to offend you" but....

Heh :rofl at the car story. And something a bit like that - about two weeks ago I saw a girl in my school wearing a pink top with a huge CHERRIES print on it. :grin I thought, y'know, 'bullseye'!! ... then the next week, the whole school is wearing them - it's a trend! :paranoid it was like a fashion conspiracy to drive my Gaydar bonkers.

My gaydar sucks. I can't seem to get a tuned just right. I know some people though who are really scary with it. Back when I was still in denial and married, my husband's best friend was a lesbian. He brought her home one time on their way somewhere and we met for like 2 minutes. He told me later that when they left the house she immediately asked him if I was gay. I wasn't even out to myself yet and she knew. And let me just add that the people who knew me the best were totally floored when I came out. I hid it well. This woman knew right away though. I haven't been able to talk to her since to find out what clued her in. I'd love to know.

"Ohhh I have this super-special-power: I wouldn't define that Gaydar, but it kinda work as a queerdar", my mother.

Whenever I find something interesting always homosexuality pops up.

I pick up a book from a library shelf (even if I don't know that) it is about gay things and stuff. So happens with music, cinema, an so on and on.

Marco (a friend of mine) always says I've got a magnet.

It does work with persons too. It's not a question of stereotypes as it always happens in the emotional sphere rather than in the rational side of me. I feel this sensation of companionship, and the guy/girl turns out to be gay.

But I've had an uneasy exp. recently about this. A person I knew very well, but never liked, turned out to be gay. You know: I heard it through the grapevine, a very trustworthy grapevine. Now when I meet him I feel confused, I know he's gay but I still find him annoying. He tries to get close to me because I'm very out-loud (even if I don't wear a Rainbow flag over my jeans) and I think he finds it "reassuring". But I feel stressed and less confident than I should: every time I meet him, my mind goes "how come you didn't get he was gay?", "why nobody of the two comes out to the other?", "why he always let discussion fall on gay issues, does he know I'm gay?". And things like this. It's upsetting.
