All Booked

Postby Darcy » Mon Jan 13, 2003 8:01 am

OK, Corky/Triscuit/Melissa and I finally got around to booking our flights: arriving 11:05 AM on 13th and departing 11:05 AM on the 18th. We're psyched. If anyone else will be coming/going around the same time, maybe we can coordinate transport to the hotel together?

And Nicky, fair warning - I understand that when members of the CompuServe LGBT forum had a gathering in Las Vegas that there were embarassing pictures of one of the attendees floating around for more than a year afterward. Suffice to say that one of the best/worst involved wearing the attendance stickers from the Liberace museum as pasties. In the parking lot.

Postby MadeinNZ » Mon Jan 13, 2003 3:01 pm

Thanks for the warning Darcy. I'll be sure to stay away from the Liberace museum and parking lots. And just to make sure, I'll be leaving the country shortly afterwards.

Re: Leaving the Country

Postby Darcy » Mon Jan 13, 2003 8:56 pm

Uh - you do realize that with the Internet involved, leaving the country isn't a sufficient safeguard, right?;)

BTW, thanks to relativegirl, who confirmed that a NJ notary would be acceptable, we got our California Domestic Partnership registration notarized this weekend and it goes in the mail tomorrow morning. I would have liked to do the whole "register in person at the county clerk's office" thing, but once I found out how far away from the nearest office we were it was obvious that wasn't going to work!

Ok, we're all confirmed up for our flights. Tiyodragon, me and my gf will be arriving in LV at 6:03 pm on the 13th, and we'll be leaving around 4:50 pm on the 16th.

I'll send you an email, Nicky, with the detail info for this.

Don't give away all my secrets please Xita.:wink

New Update

Postby MadeinNZ » Sat Jan 25, 2003 3:35 am

Ok - I'm probably breaking some rule by posting straight after myself (oh yeah - I'm bad).

Update#3 is done and winging its way to the Vegas Kittens. It details where to meet, when and gives lots of yummy stuff about the dinner. We've put together a shortened version of the full menu ( a special "Kitten" menu as it were) to help the kitchen cope with the numbers.

My exciting news of the week is that the national airline (Air New Zealand) has been given notice of an employee strike on the day I fly out. Bastards. I'm all for unions, as long as they don't inconvenience me. So I'm making some alternative arrangements (that hopefully don't mean a diversion through Mongolia or Outer Somewhereinthemiddleoffrigginnowhere).

As always, feel free to drop me a line with any Vegas related stuff.

Nicky

Would it be too much to ask that the Vegas bound Kittens give me a ring on my cell now and again to say "HI"? :pray

I just got all excited for a second because American airlines is doing a super-saver weekend fare from Boston to Las Vegas for a good price and I was thinking I might actually be able to go but then I looked at the date the good price is for, and it's the weekend right before the right one. :sob

Well you know, La, I'm sure Nicky could use the company seeing as how she's arriving in Vegas DAYS before everyone else ;) (you can thank me later, Nick :devilish )

Toni mate, are you saying that getting to the venue four days before everyone else is taking organisation to a new high (or low)? :laugh

Someone has to pace out the number of steps from the lobby to the bar. And work out whether you can actually get arrested for running naked down the strip. *Sigh* such is the burden of responsibility.

Nicky - Do we need to start a bail fund now? If you are running naked down the strip, it might be prudent. :wink

Four days early isn't bad.... just making sure that Vegas is ready for us!

As for how many steps to the bar.... when they are sober they aren't counting the steps and when they are drunk they most likely can't remember! *laugh*

I don't think we'll need a bail fund. More like a medical fund to reimburse people who sustain an injury by covering their eyes while running away screaming.

Hey Nicky,

We already have a kitten bail representative, Lael. She is the keeper of the bail money for the Dallas kittens...couldn't be in safer hands.

Are you going to do a spreadsheet listing all the room numbers? It would be helpful in case of extreme drunkenness. Kittens would have many landing spots to choose from. ;)

Well Nicky, yanno, one might think that's taking organisation to a whole new level....coughanalcough...:fallen . Or one could say that would give the organiser of such a grand even a little me-time to get a lap dance or two, check out all the hottie cocktail waitresses (and them outfits are SKIMPY...I said so in my fic :grin )...and of course there's the getting arrested before everyone else just so's you can warn unsuspecting Kittens before it happens....not that I've ever done that or anything :whistle
