Wow, cool. "The Wall" by Kansas

"Again the morning's come,

Again he's on the run,

Sunbeams shining through his hair,

Appearing not to have a care.

Well, pick up your gear and Gypsy roll on, roll on."

More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly. Woody Allen (1935 - )

Ooh, ooh! This one I know by heart. 'Melissa' by the 1st version of The Allman Brothers Band.

"I awake to see that no one is free

We're all fugitives, look at the way we live

Down here, I cannot sleep from fear, no

Oh, which way do I turn, I forget everything I learned"

Or finding better words" These ideas never lasted long

The way is up along the road, the air is growing thin

What I am to you you do not need

What I am to you is not what you mean to me

You give me miles and miles of mountains

And I'll ask for the sea

And extra points if you can name the babe who also sings on this song (hint: she shares a last name that is very popular around here ;) )

That's Volcano by my new favorite singer-songwriter Damien Rice w/ Lisa Hannigan. After only hearing the last 45 seconds of this song I bought the cd the same day. I only recently came upon the hidden track which is my favorite song on the album now.

"Consequences of Falling," KD Lang

So it's these women

They keep coming into my life

And they've got the same damn story

Yeah they're living in my strife

Yes and we know how to play this game

"No Rain", by Blind Melon.

Though I was never a fan of the group per se, I always did like that particular song. Plus, hearing it on the radio just two days ago helpfully jogged it for my memory.

So now that I have a legitimate excuse to post on this thread, here's something for all the folks here to wrap their heads around:

"But she's not afraid to die

The people all call her 'Alaska'

Between worlds so the people ask her

Cause it's all in her mind.

It's all in her mind."

Edited to Add: ARRGGHH!! While I was typing this, Warduke beat me to the answer first. Ah, well..

This is to answer Warduke's entry.

"Because The Night" by The Boss, Bruce Springsteen.

Though it was more of a hit for both Patti Smith & 10,000 Maniacs, the song's his and his alone.

I have no idea about Munchkin's entry so I'll let someone else take a crack at it.

Munchkin's song is Stephanie Says by The Velvet Underground.

Because the Night was co-written by Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith.
