I was peeved! Peeved doesn't require a context! Peeve's are irrational things. Don't blame the younger generation because you're feeling out of date! :rofl

On topic: Late night TV. Why don't they put any good stuff on for us insomniacs?

when people at my work dont take the time to scrub the dishes, then they run them through the dishwasher (which is just meant to disinfect them), and then put the STILL DIRTY dishes on the rack with CLEAN dishes. washing dishes isnt freakin rocket science!

When you by chance notice a spider that has crawled onto your arm and you swat it off...but for the rest of the day you feel that crawly sensation in your hair or on your arms that makes you think there's another spider on you. *eek*

When you meet this really cool woman who is totally your type (tall, athletic, kinda nerdy in a big brain sexy way) and you fantasize about her from afar (my librarian) and what little talking you do reveals a lot in common (same taste in books and she loves baseball and brings her dog to work even)...then she turns out to be straight and it just runs over the fantasies like an 18-wheeler running over a slow squirrel

When a channel suddenly decides to put a program on fifteen minutes earlier than normal so people who don't bother checking the schedule miss the start :(

Being woke too early on a rainy, dreary Sunday morning for no good reason and being kept awake for no good reason.

Also: younger brothers and their very pregnant and hormonal girlfriends.

I have a theory, and this theory is that there's no such thing as completely straight. (IMO) I think you should get her cornered somewhere between the medical thesis’s and the books on horticulture, make with the flirty innuendos, and then give her your phone number... :flirt

insecure, narcissistic, control freak (I hate to add this next word, but it is relevant to my peeve at this particular moment in time) men who truly believe they are
1) better than everyone else
and
2) completely inadequate.

I'm fine with 1) or 2), just not both. Pisses me right off. Pisses me off more when I have to humor them for 40 plus hours a goddamned week.

Aaaargh.

Editted to fix typo.

People who are unnecessarily sarcastic and rude on message boards to people they don't know - a likely reflection of how they are in life.

That thing where you accidentally delete all your marked messages because the button is next to the one for saving them. Grrr.

There's no way to retrieve them, is there?

The cola wars. In movie theaters.

Forever, it was Pepsi. Through my early film-going years in my teens, in the 80s, it was all about Pepsi. Pepsi and popcorn.

A few short years ago the theaters switched to Coke. No more Pepsi. Just Coke.

I hate Coke.

I hate that the theaters don't carry my soft drink of choice.

I want my Pepsi, dammit.

People who don't respect the forcefield of privacy that should go up when the bathroom door is closed...do not talk to me through the door and for Gods sake don't open the door and talk to me or hand me the phone...I am sure it can wait! And on the same subject...people who talk on the phone when they are on the toilet...that is just nasty! :angry

I'm grumpy today...my peeve level is set to high.

1. Internet companies that insist on sending me "free trial" cds and toot their own horns with slogans like: We just keep getting better! No. uh-huh. sorry...you know what would be better...how about if you shut the f*ck up and stop sending me sh*t I don't need! :punch

2. being forced to empty the electric shredder just because it's too full for the last little slip of paper. I hate you, electric shredder. :fit2

3. the fact that my neighbor feels the need to tack hundreds of "neighborhood memos" to my front door each week. You know what. I'd like to stick a few memos to her door on occasion...but if I made a memo for every little thing that frolicked into my mind I think I would go INSANE!
