My friend Jay made me watch Resident Evil with him! he got it from a friend on some kind of vcd, it's horrible! i spent the entire time cowering under the bed! i never noticed any subtext... not that i saw a whole lot of the movie, lol. i kinda remember vaguely noticing some little bits like that but nothing really stands out.

QAF = Queer As Folk

Was originally a UK show on channel 4 that caused a whole load of controversy... was a brilliant show tho'.

It's now been turned into a US version and seems to be doing really well. Season 1 is now available on Region1 DVD. I'm tempted to get it if I can find out if it will play on multi region.

There are also more US eps than the UK had.

Lesbians on TV!

Postby oneinten » Tue Apr 02, 2002 8:58 am

Well had a nice surprise yesterday. Got to see Jessie and Katie again on Once and Again - not much screen time but they are definitely still together and shared a quick kiss. They are so cute! Also just watched March 28th episode of ER and Kerry kissed Sandy the firefighter again! That may be old news to some but I never knew about that. Woo hoo! Here's hoping they're back together...then Willow and Tara get back together....

In the end, Milla injects the anti-virus into Michelle, hoping she won´t become a zombie. She holds her gun to Michelle´s head, but Michelle opens her eyes and says something like: "I´m not dead yet."

Milla looks at her joyfully and says : "I could kiss you, bitch!" To bad she didn´t come through with it. :(

Completely edited this post. It was about the TV show At Home With The Braithwaites and developments with their lesbian couple Tamsin and Virginia. Great couple, they screw up just like all the other couples in the show and are treated in the same way. No special kiss episode. Most of their scenes in the early eps done while they were lying in bed. *sigh* If only all shows had this level of maturity.

Anyway it contained massive spoilers. I did not realise this series was shown outside of the UK. As it is I've removed all the important plot details of the post. So I hope all the Aussie kitties enjoy the show unspoiled.

Grifter no need to cower, I have done it before, it happens.

I am going to go see this tonight. Cheap Movie Tuesday it is. Hell, it's still $7.50 a ticket and I'd hardly call that cheap but it's better than having to pay $12.50 on regular nights. Where's the

movie goer love eh? Theatres need ‘Frequent Viewers Miles’ or something. [/offtopicrant]

Lily Tomlin is kind of like an out of the closet, closetted lesbian. Recently the media has been more forthcoming with her but she has never denied and everyone pretty much has known for like forever.

For you UK Kittens who might be interested there is an interview with Francesca Gregorini (Portia De Rossi's partner) in the "Night and Day" magazine part of The Mail on Sunday.

Don't expect revalations about their relationship other than she says that she is "blissfully happy" and that they are house hunting. Mainly it is about her coming out and growing up in Ringo Starr's (her step-dad's) household.

EDITED TO ADD: this is the sort of interview that you can respect. Despite the most obvious reason for the interview request she keeps what is private (that is to say pretty much everything) firmly private and isn't selling anything either.

For British people we have

Ronna cameron (donna mcphail ex) - ( I spent an intersting hour with them stuck on a train between Pride March and festival one year)

Sany Tosvig

Miraim Margoles

I'm suer I can think of a few others but I dont want to take up to much space

No idea, Enigmatic, I remember reading about this a few months, maybe 6 months ago. :smokin

edited to add: she never "officially" came out, I believe the story came to light when she was "busted" (pun intended) with her g/f. Good for her, though!

Re: Lesbian 'love scene' on Lexx

Postby TaraWannabe » Sun Apr 07, 2002 5:06 pm

That reminded me of Lomea, another lesbian on Lexx in episode 13 of season 2. Unfortunately, she got eaten (and that in a literal sense) by Lyekka, a human-eating plant in the form of a beautiful woman (oh, ya), because when the two of them were talking about 'eating' (and Lomea got more and more excited, and me) they were both talking about something different actually. The whole scene was so hot though, I almost wanted to die with Lomea...

For an episode analysis with a detailed description of the 'love scene,' check out www.sadgeezer.com/lexx/lexx2-13.htm

lily tomlin

Postby theatremouse » Sun Apr 07, 2002 5:22 pm

lily tomlin was kinda always on the same page as rosie o'donnell (until two months ago that is) in the way of never denying anything, never hiding anything, but never saying the sentence "i'm gay". lily sorta amused herself by people asking and being all intrigued, and lily's just sitting there enjoying her life. and jane wagner has always been referred to in press, and by the two of them as her "partner" the thing is that they have a production company together, plys wagner write most of lily's stuff. all her one woman shows etc. so it was a double meaning thing, and all intentionally vague and whatinot, so the bigots could lie in their little shells and never know, and people who pay any attention get it, and move on with the so not a big deal-ness.
