I'm Turkish but I've relatives living in the UK.

The road where my summer school located was blown if I'm not mistaken, ..The underground train which my surrogate aunt was in was blown up. She got cuts on her hands because everybody broke the windows trying to get out. IT's horrible what's happening.

We've 5 or 6 of those competitions running here in Turkey and a bag of totally unnecessary, brainwashing, culture and development stalling TV shows.. and they get the highest ratings.

I'm a UK kitty, but my home resides 4ish hours away from London. I'm in Canada at the moment and heard about this horrible tragedy on the news, i freaked out and called my family to make sure they're okay and they don't even live in London, so i can only imagine what London kitties are going through right now. My thoughts are with all of you and i hope you and your families are okay.

I'd like to take a moment to talk about something that's happened lately. I'm also in love. It's a very special thing and I'm really rather proud of it. Yes, I'm in love with my own breasts. I feel no personal shame about this; in fact, I think this is the one. It's going to last. ~ From the Kitten Board days of old, tommo/Ruth

At the moment in the UK (Saturday 9th pm) we have Birmingham being evacuated. That's a big city centre with over 20,000 people there tonight partying and visiting the concert halls and bars. Looks like a package was blown up by our bomb disposal guys. Birmingham had received threats and they were taken VERY seriously. Hopefully, fingers crossed, they might just be false alarms. I think we're going to see quite a few more of those for a while yet.

I'm a UK kitten. I live about half hour from central london and where it all happened. I walked into class at 9am and everyone was staring at the TV with looks on their faces. I looked and saw 'London Bombed'. Felt like i was in a movie.
I was ringing by BF straight away, he was terrified I was caught up in it all.
It was so scary to see pictures of Kings Cross Station on TV...because I had only been there the weekend before with my BF and running all over the place on the tube. :| I got a lump in my throat from it. That and I had been on a bus only 10 mins before finding out what happened o_0
Hope everyone who also was travelling or lives in the London area at the time is alright.

One year on...

From For The Fallen

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

Thank you for posting that, I too have spent a moment in quiet reflection for those that were affected by the events of last year.

It seems odd that a year has passed by so fast but I took a moment of reflection today and it still seems so fresh. My partner was on duty on the day last year and was right in the heart of it in Camden, and still to this day can't talk very much about what she saw at Tavistock Square. She's on duty again today so I'm hoping she's ok. I know a few of her colleagues are dreading today, but I for one am proud of her and her colleagues dedication to their jobs and serving the city and communities.

I cannot believe it's been a year already. It's gone by so fast.
It still makes me sad when I think about it and what happened.. it's not fair and not right.

Well its been a quick year!

As a london kitten, I am thankful that my friends and family travelled into town the day before and those who work in town were having days off.

But to all other london kittens who lost or had friends or family members injured, the thoughts of everyone have been with you all day!

London and londoners today are bigger, stronger and tougher than we all were this time last year. You can knock us down and we'll get right back up!

Sweet dreams to all those who lost their lives so needlessly.
