i got some slippers, sweaters, a couple of dvds (the new harry potter and "knocked up"), a gift certificate to the place where i buy my buffy comics, and a cool bound copy of the declaration of independence and u.s. constitution. oh, and a monopoly set i plan to return (i loathe loathe loathe that game).
my brother took a look at his ginormous pile of presents, then looked at my sad little mound and said, "see, if you snag a wife and kids you get all this loot." yet another way single people get screwed at the holidays, i guess. i mean, I had to buy presents for him, his wife, her two kids, and my niece... yet i only got one gift from all five of them - there is something wrong with this equation. i really don't care about the presents, it's just the principle of the thing. mostly his comment just really irked me. it's bad enough being single all year but the holidays are the worst. if someone attempts to stick me at the kid table one more time i am seriously going to act like a five year old with the mouth of a sailor.
