sorry to double-post, but I just had to post this one. Very appropriate for me right now.

"You think you're the only person to ever get overwhelmed by life? We all feel like that. Everybody else seems to be smiling and happy and in control and you look in the mirror and see the failure of the century. It's the ten thousand all at once."

"Huh?"

"Old quote.... When faced with ten thousand opponents, fight one at a time. First one, then the second, the third, and so on until you get through 'em. Don't try to fight 'em all at once, you'll be defeated by the odds before you start. One at a time makes it a lot easier."

This is a quote from a short story I read recently, it is called "The Voyage" and was written by Katherine Mansfield. (I keep the caps like it is in the text)

Set with Sixty Diamond Minutes
No Reward is Offered
For It Is Gone FOR EVER

I thought it was wise.

Go out and download yourself a free copy of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. A jewel of a program. I've had some odd things happening lately - Yahoo and The Kittenboard not remembering me, for instance, and having to re-log in each time I stopped by - and then I had a pm crash on me twice in a row each time I pressed "submit." My spidey-sense now tingling, I ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and sure enough, it found EIGHT nasties that somehow found their way through McAfee.

You would be wise to listen to my wise words - the program is free and it works like a champ.

gorn...buddy...thank you so much for that. My Yahoo! and KB were squirrely as well, so I jumped on your advice, ran the scan, and found 12 nasties (including 2 Trojans, which always makes me laugh because apparently I have the sensibilities of a 13-year-old-boy). Whatever.

My happy hard drive thanks you.

It's a good program, isn't it? I have yet to encounter a nasty it can't handle.

"Why don't you think of it this way? It's a long vacation."

"Long vacation?"

"There's no reason to rush. There are times when no matter what you do, it doesn't work out. No matter what you do, it's no good. At times like that, it may sound strange but.... Why don't you think of it as a vacation from God? Don't force yourself. Don't rush. Don't try harder. Just let everything take its natural course."

"Then?"

"Things will improve."

"Really?"

"Probably."

Does your roommate have really loud, obnoxious sex when you are sleeping three feet away from them? Have a week-long orgy of unspeakable sexual acts with totally random dirty people you find on the street. They will be so grossed out that they'll never want to have sex again. Problem solved.
