MY NEPHEW'S ON THE WAY!!!!!!
I just got the call that my sister's in the hospital and has been in labor for about 4 or 5 hours. I'm about to be an aunt!!! No idea when I'll get to meet the baby since I have no car and my sister lives in San Marcos (about 30 miles away with no buses traveling there), but very very soon there will be a new baby in the world, and as my stepmom says, he will be ours cause we all belong to each other. I kind of feel like bouncing off the walls right now!

Jas - during the school year there is a round trip bus that goes to san marcos but I dont know If it runs in the summer

Unfortunately that bus isn't running right now, but my dad has said he'll take my brother and I along the next time they go see the baby, which may be as early as tomorrow if my sister and nephew are released by then. I had thought I might get to go today, but My dad and stepmom had a long day yesterday, and between that and the absurd number of people planning to meet the little one today (my sister and her husband both have divorced parents, 3 of whom are remarried, so families are HUGE) they decided not to make another trip today, since they were at the hospital for the birth last night.
Anyway, I'm happy cause my nephew (despite not nursing yet) is strong, healthy, and 23 hours and 2 minutes old, and one way or another I will get to meet him soon.

Despite the recent awkwardness between us, I'm excited to see my best friend tomorrow, PLUS she's looking to get rid of most of her books as she now has a Kindle and has a *humongous* stack for me to take.

I finally got a second job to help me pay for my trip to London this year for Hallowhedon 2011, baby!!!!





SOOOO EXCITED!!! My first trip overseas is actually coming to fruition!!

I met my nephew today, and he's pretty much the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I got to hold for a long time and feed him a bottle. It had been way too long since I'd held a baby, and it was the first time I ever held a baby that little, but best of all it's a little baby that I'll get to love and watch grow for decades to come.

Last year my mom passed away and while looking through her address-book I found the name of who she said was my father. I decided to send him a notification. He answered me with a very sweet condolences card to which I never knew how to answer. I wanted to say so much.
I wrote him many letters in my life with never knowing where to send them, and over the past years even more but without the guts to send them.
Two weeks ago I wrote one and decided to send it.
I got a very nice answer today in which he says he was happy wen he received my letter and he wanted to get to know me and meet me.
Plus, in my letter I had said I had a girlfriend and so that I was a lesbian (because I didn't want to have chances of a relationship and then have it ruined by rejection) and in his letter he said he was open-minded and not at all shocked by my sexuality.

I have a father. After 24 years, 7 months and 4 days, I have a father. <3

I took an old friend to the movies last night for her birthday. It was nice to see her, and nicer still to see two amazing Hitchcock movies on the big screen. It's was a good night

This week has been AMAZING. Work was great: I actually worked a nearly full week for the first time all summer, the little one was awesome despite her mom being out of town, we went to the park 3 days which was loads of fun and included teaching her to yell "whee!" while sliding, and while she slept and I had no work to do I read Harry Potter and watched Doctor Who. School's gone well: I turned two assignments for my Children with Special Needs class in on time and feeling pretty satisfied with them, and got an extension for a 3rd; I got my test grade for Philosophy changed from a B to an A, and made a 100 on a pop-quiz; and best of all I got full credit for two major assignments in Theater, totaling 50% of the course, which I got the due date wrong on and had to do in less than an hour (which makes it a little sad that I got 100s, but I'm SO not complaining). I have awesome plans with my best friend: swimming at Barton Springs today, then cooking dinner, watching movies, getting up early tomorrow to go to Enchanted Rock, then getting lunch before she brings me home. Best of all, this week I made plans to move next week! I'll have a bedroom instead of a cubbyhole, proper a/c, a closet, my own bathroom, and an awesome roommate. Excitement galore!!

I had a WONDERFUL time with my best friend, even though we canceled our hike cause we got up late, swimming, watching movies, and playing games, tomorrow I'm gonna have brunch with my family and get to see my nephew (squee!), I got an unexpected babysitting job for 4 days next week which is perfect cause the family I usually nanny for is out of town, and my mom and I have plans to move my stuff Thursday. Hurray!

The love of my life slept almost on top of me all night. I got to wake up with her in my arms. It was the most wonderful experience ever.

I had a truly FANTASTIC day Sunday, starting out with a great morning run (super hot, but I finished with a good time so I was happy), then chatting with my parents for a bit, getting to see one of my sisters, holding my nephew way more than I had before, and hearing my sister and brother sing together for the first time in a year.

On a completely unrelated note, I found out tonight that the premier of Doctor Who is a week earlier than the last estimate I'd heard, which means I'll still miss it cause I'll have my sister's bachlorette party rather than her wedding, but I'll get to see it a week earlier than I would have, or maybe even the same night it airs if I blow off the bar-hopping portion of the evening (which I probably would anyway). So excited for the second half of the season!

You know what's nice? Having a cute girl hit on you. Kind of makes the whole rest of the crappy day seem insignificant.

Pried myself out of bed, shower, and clothes - hurrying to a friend's house to take care of cat & dog. Then sat on a bench with a view over the valley: all pearly mist and luminous, swirling beauty. I prayed, just felt such joy and spirit rise up in me. How grateful to see so much loveliness.

This is gonna sound weird but... I really like my brain. It keeps me guessing and almost never makes sense, and it's fun. It makes me happy to enjoy being me.

I moved today! I have 2 closets and combined they're nearly as big as my whole "room" before. I also bought a new bed, which seems really comfy so far, and my roommate's kitties seem really friendly. I think I'm gonna like it here

We have Niels until tomorrow night and today was a blast. Heck he even went to bed rather easily (compared to what I was expecting). It makes me feel so happy to see my girlfriend behave with her godson, it assures me of how good a parent she'll be. <3

I'm an aunt! My oldest brother just sent me a text message with a picture of my brand new nephew, Patrick. I didn't even know he was expecting! Apparently he and the baby's mother are no longer together, and really didn't tell a lot of people. But come on. Tell your own sister, would you?

Sunlight on the leaves and grass, beautiful day and got to see my sister. She and her wife rolled their car (defective new tire blew out while turning on mountain road)! Glad and grateful they're alive!
