I got invited to an Honors programme at my college. Not sure if I'll join, but it's kinda cool, after so many years of academic underachievement, to qualify for such a thing :)

I got my tax refund direct deposited today. It's not super exciting because it's just going into (our depleted) savings but still cool so see a big number when I logged in today.

The girl I nanny is potty training, and she hasn't had an accident with me all week. She's not even been peeing in her pullups when we go out. I'll only be work with her a couple more weeks, but even so it's very exciting :)

Just got done seeing The Heart of the King (yes I'm a dorky Elvis Presley fan) with my amazing girlfriend. What a wonderful anniversary gift.

I have been awarded a grant for this school year, on top of my extant financial aid, that entirely covers the cost of the braces I need to get. I didn't apply or anything. Financial aid just contacted me to say it was mine, then dumped the money in my bank account.

I received the money yesterday, the same day Adam found out he has a job interview next week.

Today I went out to a ranch and photographed a high school senior and her horse. She's a petite girl and was wearing a pretty flowery dress and cowboy boots. For those of you that follow Racing The Rain, you'll understand why it was sorta surreal and fun! Anyway, I got some beautiful shots of her lying across the back of the horse with the sun shining through the trees. Kind of a life imitating art moment:)

It's been a nice lazy Saturday. I've watched loads of Doctor Who, played around on facebook, watched an episode of Castle, collaborated with my roommate's son on a story we're trying to write, did a lot of knitting (even if I did lose yet another knitting needle), and went for an evening walk during which I saw the gigantic full moon. I'm just feeling generally chill, which is so nice after the last few weeks of job-related stress (which admittedly isn't entirely gone yet, but I'm getting a nice weekend-reprieve).

This girl just... makes me so incredibly happy. I was in a shitty mood, having a shitty day, and she turned it around so easily. I was telling her I wanted to run away to England, and suddenly we were talking about how someday we'll work in the same hospital and share a house or a flat, and be each other's family so that it won't matter that she doesn't get along with hers and I feel constantly out of place in mine. I can see it; I can see us having that life someday. And it's wonderful. I know we're young, and England is 4 years away for her and at least that long for me, but I can imagine it all someday. "It was the expectation of happiness that is happiness itself." Even if the dreams never come true, the dreaming itself is like magic. Dreaming by myeslf is good, but dreaming with her just makes everything marvelous.

It has been a long road with many twists and turns but this past Sunday I finally walked across that stage and received my Bachelors degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. An added bonus was that sitting two seats to the right of me was the girl I have been crushing on for the past couple of semesters. I never had any classes with her but it seemed to always make my day whenever I would see/pass by her in the halls.

My little sister flew in from Arizona to help me celebrate and although she was only able to stay for a couple days I am happy that she was here to help me celebrate. My dad, step-mom, and step-sister also drove up from Texas to help me celebrate. They will be here for a couple more days so I still have some time to spend with them before they drive back.

I will also start working full-time starting tomorrow. This job isn't in my field but it IS a job. I have been working part-time since the last week of November and since I'm such a good worker they told me that after I graduated they wanted to hire me full time. The pay isn't awesome but I will be getting benefits.

This past February I also started driving by myself. I had always had someone to drive me wherever I needed/wanted to go and if I did drive (which was on rare occasions) there was someone else in the car, usually just my mom. I was super nervous but since I started working and since I start earlier than my mom does she thought it would make sense for me to just start driving myself to work instead of her getting up earlier than she needs to and taking me to work. I even have my own vehicle to drive. My mom bought herself a newer/used car and gave me her old one. The car isn't in the best condition but it gets me to where I need to be and little by little my family is helping me fix it up.

I'm hoping now I will finally be able to catch up on all the awesome stories that I haven't read/left feedback on.

Life is good. Life is really really good. I have someone, I'm starting a great job, I have amazing roommates... I have love, and more than ever before I feel like I can achieve my dreams.

when I was five years old I had a huge obsession with disney's cinderella so for my birthday my grandma got someone to dress up like cinderella and talk to me. I was off the walls and it was by far the most amazing birthday I ever had. Today I experienced the same ecstatic feeling. My friend form philadelphia was at a comic con and saw a Buffy The Vampire Slayer booth so she went over. We went to pre-college together last summer in Rhode Island and she remembered how I wouldn't stop obsessing over Tara. So she goes over to Amber Benson and put her on the phone with me. The conversation went like this:

Amber Benson: "Hi Savanna, do you know who this is?"

Me: "Uh... wait who is this?"

Amber Benson: -Laughs- "This is Amber Benson, your friend said to talk to you"

Me: :shock :thud "Ohmygod.... ohmygod"

Amber Benson: -Laughs- "Well I can't talk long but it was nice talking to you"

Me: "Thank you" (In a very high pitched squeaky voice because I could hardly speak)

This is by far one of the best days of my life....

We went out to dinner with my brother's family for his birthday. And after went back to their house and borrowed a bunch of books for Asher to read and like 10 CDs to copy. Dude. My brother just let me look at his CDs. I could have brought home like 60 but I was trying to be reasonable. I brought home like 10 instead.

Today was Asher's first day of "summer camp" meaning he goes to a class 9-12 4 days a week for 2 weeks. that's good for him. Anyway, he played with other kids! And right now he is across the street playing with the new neighbor (an 8 year old boy)! I know it sounds silly but he doesn't play with other kids much or well so this is very exciting.

They are seriously mad for doing that. And the weird thing is, it's still in production in Belgium and Germany. Like, what the hell?
