I had a great weekend. I celebrated a friend's 39th birthday. She wanted to go miniature golfing. Omg, I was like really? We ended up having a blast. I hadn't been in a go kart or played arcades in a long time. I didn't even know the place we went to still existed. It's called Camelot but we call it Scamalot. Oh man, did that bring up some childhood memories. I was 13, good times, good times.

US District Judge just struck down Utah's ban on same-sex marriage, based on 14th amendment grounds. It'll likely go to higher courts after this, but it's a move in the right direction.

I feel ridiculously full of squee right now, cause my new ship are actually being friendly with each other! I've got a new TV obsession (I'm on episode 41 and started 5 days ago), and first episode I fell for a very unfortunate ship, cause they didn't have a single positive interaction until episode 30. Now this episode, they're acting actually attached to each other! *happy dance* I don't think they'll ever actually get romantic on screen, but it feels wonderful to have them acting all sweet...

I am healthy and able bodied. I have a strong will and mind. Almost everything I said I was going to do this year, I did. There is only one thing I didn't get to do, but it just means I'll get to complete that task in 2014. I am alive and have heart. I am alive and surrounded by love. I am alive and live life abundantly. I am alive and not angry or jealous of anyone. I am alive and realize I do an amazing thing everyday. I walk on a planet called Earth. I am very happy to be going home tomorrow! I have spent the last couple of weeks with my family for the holiday (which has been great) but I am so excited to be returning home. I miss my other friends who I haven't seen (and the cooler weather!).

I've had a *really* good few days. I spent last weekend at an awesome Con with an awesome friend, going to fantastic panels and meeting two of my new favourite actresses from Babylon 5. Then Monday I babysat which was loads of fun, in the evening got to hang out with my nephew, then spent hours with my little sister watching Supernatural and talking. Yesterday I saw my best friend, then little sister and I watched telly again, and now today I'm getting ready to babysit again which I can only hope will be as fun as Monday--and at the very least will put a few extra bucks in my pocket. After a lot of ups and downs this trip, it's feeling really awesome to have a few good days-- and I'm still sort of riding the high from the Con and my new Babylon 5 addiction!

I'm reading fanfic at 2am with work in the morning, and it feels oddly good. Haven't stayed up half the night reading a fic in years! I might regret it in the morning, but after the news I got today I have the right to be irresponsible and just enjoy my crackfic. Even though the story infuriates me more often than not, I'm loving it

Best. Snow day. Ever! Everyone got to sleep in, then the kids left to hang out with friends. My wife and I had the house to ourselves and spent the rest of the day under a pile of blankets...all warm and snuggly.

The little ladies alma mater, the Alabama Crimson Tide hosted fan appreciation day for softball yesterday. It was great finally meeting Coach Murphy. Perhaps this is the year Bama makes it back to the WCWS. I am very very happy that they are doing well, and that the time for travel will be over soon. I really miss her.

I've been a member of this board for over 10 years. Maybe 12 or so. And I love that in that time so many of the people I have come to know have become parents or are becoming parents. It is just joyous!

This really has been a year of surprises. Really really has. In keeping with the current theme a player I already knew was returning to the Racers released the official announcement today. I knew weeks ago, if I'm honest with myself months ago, or even always. She's a longtime veteran. And of course my wife's best friend. So so happy that announcements are starting to come in, means only one thing. Softball is getting closer!

I made an 84 on my first exam! Normally, this would be a pretty bad score for me, but it's my first Nursing course and proving a lot harder than I expected, so I was ready to be happy as long as I passed. The teachers said the first test is the hardest for most people, so maybe I'll do even better next time! Woooo!

Not sure why, but I'm in a really good mood tonight; actually, I've been pretty cheerful for a couple days now. Something I was looking forward to tomorrow got canceled and I'm not even bummed about it, which I always take to mean I'm having an awesome day. It's the weekend with no test next week and my lab skills 90% mastered, so I get to relax! I even got most of my errands out of the way today since I have Friday mornings free, so all I have to do for the whole weekend is go to the post office, read my textbook, and work on a project, which should leave lots of time to write, read, and watch way too much telly. And there might even be snow! Woooo weekend
