I trust everyone enjoyed the Autumnal Equinox yesterday? With all the Wiccans around, I figure this must've been a big day. It's a national holiday in Japan, same in Spring, with a lot of towns holding their local festivals. Very fun time. The Japanese are big on festivals.

Though this day has no deeper significance to me, it's a day I always look forward to. I hate Summer; Fall is the beginning of my favorite time of the year. I love that stretch from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Year's. The first "official" day of Fall is cause enough for me to celebrate. Of slightly lesser significance, I'm a night person and from here on out the nights will grow longer than the days.

I was driving home from the grocery a couple of nights ago. The evening was cool, scented with just a touch of woodsmoke and the unmistakable smell of football (and marching band) in the air. I love Fall, too.
