I'd vote for Texas just because is very close and it would be the only of the places suggested so far that I could go, since money has been short this year.



Dallas has great bars and a very good Brazilian restaurant.

Hi all...sorry it's been so long....

Lei and I still want to throw out collective hat into the ring for anything California (LA or SF would be great with us). If we all did LA, we might be able to get a group discount at Disneyland... ...plus there is Sunset Strip and House of Blues, etc...(and Lei is even old enough to get into House of Blues this time!)...Not to mention the fun girlie bars...he he he...

Since I'm in Dallas anyways, I vote TX.... although I have one thing to point out. The first weekend in Aug is always tax-free weekend. So the state is really busy. I don't know if all the states with insanly inflated tax-rates (Tx is 8.25%) does this of not.



Just my thoughts.

Okay, I took the "evilness quiz" up in the humor thread and was disappointed that I only scored "accidentally evil" BUT....



One of the things (many things actually) Darcy and I do together is go to Science Fiction conventions. We sit around in panels, hobnob with authors, and generally buy way too much stuff. So this weekend we're in Toronto at AdAstra (very nice - we love Canada). Soooo, while I was listening to a panel (Vampire Citizens with one of my fave authors Tanya Huff), Darcy attended a panel on "Buffy from a Writer's Perspective".



So what does this have to with Kitten Gathering 2004? Well, it seems a flyer was handed out at that panel advertising WriterCon 2004 "FanFiction as Literature in the Whedonverse". It just happens to be scheduled for the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas 7/30-8/1 and Jane Espenson just happens to be Guest of Honor. www.the-sandlot.com/writercon



7/30-8/1 the same dates we selected for the Kitten Gathering. And I had this intriguing thought of Kittens in the same hotel wearing Got Tara shirts....
