can you provide some details on the BTVS game?

There's BtVS: Chaos Bleeds which comes in 3 formats. XBOX, PS2 and GameCube which was released in 2003. That is the one most kittens here have played cos it also features the W/T coupling.

But back in 2002... there was another BtVS game. Which if i'm not mistaken... is only released for the XBOX. Apparently that Buffy game isn't a failure... rated 8.3 out of 10... making it a reasonable action game to get your paws err... hands on. :wink

Hmm...I don't know if I could call myself a gamer, necessarily...well, maybe a casual gamer.

I'm not a big TV sports fan, but I love playing sports video games. I've been playing Hot Shots Golf 3 (love it!) Madden 2004, ATV Offroad Fury 2, Tony Hawk's Underground, SSX 2 or 3 and a street racing game (can't remember exactly which at this time).

My guilty pleasure, though, has to be WWE Games. I adore wrestling games. I have all the WWE games for PS One, Dreamcast and PS 2 with the exception of the latest one because I refuse to pay $50. I can wait a year until it goes down to $15 or $20.

As for non-sports games, I play Buffy: Chaos Bleeds, GTA III, Simpson's Road Rage and a couple others who's names escape me at the moment.

I am horrible at most video games except for sports. But, in those really pissy-angry-would like to beat the hell out the world moments, GTA III and its mass arsenal of weaponry really serves a purpose.

Edited because of spelling.

I'm not Shinnen, but maybe I can help.

In the first Buffy game (the XBox exclusive), you play only as Buffy. But you do talk with Willow, Xander, Cordelia, and Giles (all voiced by the actors (except for Buffy herself)) regularly during cut scenes.

In the second Buffy game (Chaos Bleeds), you play as Buffy, Faith, Xander, Willow, Spike, and even Sid the Dummy. It's not a co-op game, so you can't switch between players at will... on each level you have to play a certain character.

The game play is part exploring, part puzzle solving, and large part fighting. I highly recommend them.

I love playing as Willow. Once you have all of her spells unlocked... she's a blast. Equip her with a shovel and she has fun! :laugh I still can't get her to do the Homing Missile. Anyone else have problems with that spell?

And Faith... she kicks ass as a playable character. I almost like playing with her, more than I do Buffy.

I love playing just for the dialog. There's some hilarious lines in that game. Even though it's not Sarah's or Alyson's voices, they've grown on me. Buffy's voice is similar. You can tell the difference with Willow's though.

My favorite Willow line: "A see-cret. I found a see-cret." :lmao Buffy line: "Buffy Smash. Grrr." I also like: "Little pigs, little pigs. Ah, nevermind. I'll find another way."

Vamp Tara: "Hi, sweetie. I've been waiting for you." :shock

:drool

Has anyone heard her say, "Now that's a kiss?" I have yet to have heard her say that.

wow guild

Postby demelzie » Sun Jan 23, 2005 2:57 pm

yey a whole thread about games! and i was just gonna start a little one about WOW as well...

does anyone here play world of warcraft? (or will do in the future?) - im in the UK (will be out some time in feb over here), gonna get it as soon as it comes out :D looking to join/form a guild and i dont wanna be stuck with a load of perverted horny guys :crazy

not sure where else i could find people to form a guild with!

nb it'll be a while until i get the game...well, however long it takes to be released! some people have said the 15th of Feb, some have said the 25th so im really not sure how long it will be!

hopefully soon cause im really excited to play!

anyway, going back to what was previously being talked about

im not too keen on the FF series...i think its very good but i personally dont like it that much...having said that, i do think aesthetically its amazing and im pretty sure im gonna get FFXII when it comes out purely because of the looks! :D

however, after reading all of these posts, sounds like FFX-2 is good ^_^ might consider that one

one game that all rpgers (and everyone else too ^_^) MUST get: star ocean : till the end of time.

fantastic game!!! absolutely amazing :D ive almost finished it atm - i averaged at 6 hours playing a day in the first week :p

shall move onto legends of archadia when im finished with star ocean :D , thats also supposed to be very good (dont know if anything can stand up to star oceans wonderfulness tho...hehe)

my favourite game is zelda OoT :D then zelda MM - they are just soooooo good :D ive gotten right to the end of both of them, before the final bosses and left it at that cause i never wanna finish them!!

next best game = grandia II

i like this rpg even more than star ocean - not half as good, not by far, but its just so fun and likeable!! something so lovely about it :D

okies i think ive said plenty...

and anyone in the UK who isnt already planning on getting world of warcraft, get it! :D we can form a cool guild!! ^_^

The FF games were great for their time. I'm not saying that the new ones aren't great, just that in the old days the FF were simply lots better. I mean FF 6? Great stuff. Even FF 4 was ok, despite a somewhat sucky story for the FF series.

demelzie, think about FF X2 in these terms: all female cast? check. fan service? check. nice gameplay? uhmmm... LOL. j/k, I think FF X2 is just peachy. It's more real time than I'm used to, but I'm ok with it.

I'm playing Grandia 2. Doesn't the whole experience for every weapon/magic get kinda repetitive?

WhiteSkyFire
mentioned Legend of Dragoon, I truly like that game. Overall best cast in any game I've ever played.

And just cuz PC games haven't been mentioned lately, Anachronox rules! It plays like a console RPG though... lol. And it's another of the nominees for the Best Cast Award.

shinnen, I'm gonna try that out. My fingers are itchin' to play a Buffy game.

some dark thing: yeah the all-female cast thing does seem very appealing! i hope they do the same for the next game 'cause i think i shall be getting that one...

i dont find grandia 2 repetitive!! i think its like, super-good! :D but then im not at all the type to get bored...especially when ive got sexy milenia on my team instead of elena :p

her move where she spreads her wings and theres a picture of the moon = *drool!!*

oo im being inspired to play it again...i think perhaps i shall...

where have you got up to in the game?

Well... now that you've mentioened characters... I think I've been playing the first Grandia. Is that where that awesome Feena is? :) Forgot about the 2nd, I mean I saw Grandia Extreme, I just didn't burn that DVD.

The next one? Like that game rumored to be centered on Rikku? FF X3 or something?

ive never played the first grandia but i guess it must be ^_^

i dont know if the next FF is focused on Rikku, it just looks pretty from the screen shots ive seen...

unless, of course, the screen shots im talking about were for the newest FF thats already out, i just saw them a while ago :hmm dont suppose you know if they have release screen shots of it yet do you? i could just have my versions mixed up :p

Wizard Magazine #161 pg 98:-

BLOODRAYNE Director Uwe Boll solidified his reputation as a master of the horror game/ horror flick transformation with film adaptations of "House of the Dead" and "Alone in the Dark" under his belt. His big-screen take on Majesco's bloody action title BloodRayne promises to be his biggest flick yet, with "Terminator 3" star Kristanna Loken playing the sexy vampiress and legendary actor Sir Ben Kingsley playing the vampire king Kagan. The Brightlight Pictures production is currently neck-deep in filming in Romania.

Unfortunately our fave redhead beauty wasn't cast as BloodRayne. Maybe someone should have sent a photo of her to the director. :sigh

I'm probably going to ruffle some feathers here, but I don't think Alyson would have done well in that part. I know the videogame quite well, and while Alyson does have excellent range and is a very good physical actress (I personally think she's better than SMG), I don't think this would have been a good part for her. Yes, she has red hair, but there's more that's needed for the role.

On the plus side, Uwe Boll is an absolutely terrible director. I've been unfortunate enough to see both films mentioned in the article, and they're two of the worst films I have ever seen. "Alone in the Dark" is possibly the worst film I have ever seen. I'm not kidding; I'm not being melodramatic. I'm quite serious. I'm quite happy Alyson is going to have nothing to do with this movie. I feel sorry for those who are in it. And I honestly have no idea how Uwe Boll keeps getting work. It's astonishing.

I've just gotten Resident Evil 4 (for the game cube) and so far it seems to be a pretty good game.

You're playing as Leon (from RE2) who since escaping from Raccoon city has joined the Secret Service. It's his job to protect the President's family, which would be okay except before he's even started the president's daughter has gone and gotten herself kidnapped. Following a lead he's gone off to a remote village somewhere in Europe, which is when the fun begins.

There are a few changes from the earlier games

No more auto aim, you now have to aim for yourself. Though it's made easier by the fact that all the guns have a laser sight, it can still be tricky.

There's no zombies in this game. The villagers have turned into mindless monsters but they're faster than zombies, and have weapons. Most are armed with farm tools, but a few are carrying sticks of dynamite. Actually the monsters in this game are reminiscent of the ones from Forbidden Siren.

As a purely stylistic note, the music that starts playing when there are monsters nearby sounds a lot like the music from Silent Hill.

You don't need an ink ribbon to save, though you do still need to find a typewriter

There are people that you can buy weapons from

If you're a survival horror fan, then you'll probably like this one.

Following Microsoft's announcement of the Xbox 360, Sony and Nintendo have also announced their new consoles...

Sony Playstation 3

Nintendo Revolution

When I read the specs for the Xbox 360 I was blown away, and then, the PS3 comes in and blows all that away :thud

I cannot wait to see the games (in action) that will be on these systems. The graphics are going to be amazing!

Re: Video Games

One interesting fact (well to me anyway) is that all three are using IBM processors. The XBox 360 and GC Revolution are both using PowerPC chips, whilst the PS3 is using the new PowerPC based cell processor.

The specs for the Playstaion 3 say it can manage 2 terraflops.

To put that in perspective BlueGene (the world's fastest computer) can manage 70 terraflops. The PS3's performance puts it in the top 150 supercomputers on the planet.

There are rumours that the PS3 will include motions sensors. I hope that that's true as it will take the window cleaning game up to a whole new level :)

Out of the three the GCR looks like it's going to be the least powerful. But Nintendo are being pretty secretive about it's specs and, in particular, what will be so revolutionary about it.

Hello kittens!

I'm doing research for a friend (honest) and was wondering if you know of any gay themed video games. I'm not just talking about a video game with a gay character but an actual game with gay characters and themes. if there aren't any out there would you buy a game like that? it could be action, adventure, detective, etc... what would it need in it for you to buy it? gay characters in acutal relationships? Settings in "gay" cities like San Fran or Fire Island? like two super hero girls in san fran that save the city and go home to bed at night together? lol.

i know nothing of video games so any input would be much appreciated.

thanks!

Gay themed Game... Hmm (in no order):

1. Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines - you can be a girl and you can seduce all the girls you like, and they will treat you as a woman as well (like you know some games will use "he" even though you're female character)

2. Arcanum - I think you could get some female prostitutes! woo. But that's about it.

3. The Longest Journey has a side character who's lesbian... but it's a great game.

4. Morrowind - if you download a couple of mods for it, you can have same-sex relationships.

5. I found this link which is pretty intereting: Link

Now to your other question, of course I woudl buy a gay themed game. But girls only represent like 10% of the gaming market - so they wouldnt bother making a game like that.

Well, I don't know if it completely qualifies, but there are two lesbians in the newest CSI: Dark Motives computer game. They are actresses. It's the 4th case that you have to complete. You partner up with Nick.

The reason I wonder if it doesn't completely qualify is because both of the actresses are having an affair with each other. One of them is killed by her jealous husband, so it's kind of cliche, but it's humorous none-the-less when Greg finds out about it. :lol He's very funny in the game.

Hope that helps.
