Monday night, Cowboys vs. Eagles ... that was the worst rendition of our National Anthem I've heard in a long time.

This totally cracked me up!

Seen today in my local Target store. Keep in mind that I live in Virginia, about two hours outside of Washington, DC.

I have to wonder if there is a Target in suburban Seattle loaded down with Redskins gear. Any Kittens in the area want to look around?

Oh, and the Bengals suck. Again. Oh, well.

Well, I can't say the same for the Bengals. 0-6. Crap.

I thought to post this in the Crappy Feelings Thread. Most of the folks who post there have deep genuine Crappy Feelings, though, and I don't want to make light of that. That's not to say my personal feeling right now is any less Crappy - to me - but in the larger scheme of things I know I really shouldn't complain.

But I will.

My fantasy team lost in the semi-final round this weekend.

I won the league last year, bought a Nintendo Wii with my winnings, and pretty much dominated the league again all season long this year. I was in first place for all but two or three weeks. I was beginning to think dynasty. And now I've been brought low ... eliminated ... taught a bitter lesson in Humility.

This reversal of fortune is due entirely to three men - Reggie Bush, Tony Scheffler, and - dare I say it - T.J. Houshmandzadeh. These three excuses for real footballers let me down at the time I needed them most. Neither one of them scored me more than four points, collectively the three of them didn't even get me eight. Tony Scheffler (curse his name) had the audacity to earn me negative points.

I realize I have no one but myself to blame. I am the leader, the manager of this team, such as it is. The buck stops here. That I mistakenly relied on three such losers is my own fault and no one else's. I will eat my humble pie and slink off to the off-season, where I do not doubt many a long night will be spent in bitter contemplation of what might've been ...

Damn you, Reggie Bush. I hope Kim Kardashian gives you crabs.

Damn you, Tony Scheffler. I hope your "lingering groin injury" earns you a spot in the next Cialis commercial.

Damn you, T.J. Houshmandzadeh. I will no longer be naming my first born after you.

I'm going to cry now.

Woot! Niners vs. Saints. Now, I know the Saints are the champs, but hopefully we'll give them a challenge tonight. Go Niners!

I had been betting on quite a few games for weeks now and got killed! Dude! I was becoming such an anger ball with all the money I was losing. I had to put myself in check. I did that by betting on games I knew I would lose on purpose. Losing more money actually made me relax. (LOL. If that made any fucken sense.) The game that really outraged me was a few weeks ago. Giants and Eagles. Anyone who saw that game knows what the fuck I am talking about. I was just as red and pissed off as Coach Tom Coughlin. Mind you I have a tan so I was an interesting shade of red. :P

Anyways just my luck I didn't bet on any games this past Sunday. I knew the Bucs would win because of the way the Saints have been playing. I knew the Cowboys would win because of the way they've been playing. The last game against the Eagles was close. I knew they would get this one. Go Coach Jason Garrett!!! What a great guy. I am not a Cowboys fan but I was happy to see how they turned it around once he took over.

The Seattle Seahawks whoa!!! I didn't see that coming. I thought the Rams would get that one fosho. The Hawks played better football, but if they have any chance of beating the Saints they have to score touchdowns. Field goals isn't going to do it. I think the Saints will win, but you never know with this game. Just ask the Chargers when they lost to the Bengals. I was like are you serious????

Here is how I see the playoff games:

Colts over the Jets. Despite how Manning's been playing you still have to respect him. He is a force to be reckoned with.

Ravens over the Chiefs. I really really would love to see the Chiefs win this game, but I give the Ravens the edge.

Packers over the Eagles. Although this past Sunday wasn't their best game offensively, but the defense should keep the Packers in the game.

I look forward to game time. :D

A lonely, desperate plea ...

Aside from having to start at 6:45 in the GODDAMN morning, I've found something else to dislike about this otherwise great job - they have no fantasy football league. What the hell? There are a few people semi-interested in it, but fantasy football is not something you do half-assed, goddamnit! You gotta be hardcore with your football jersey, beer & wings, and laptop at your side for those instantaneous updates!!

To be fair, I was not as hardcore as I should've been this year. The August birth of our latest gornling took priority, and now I find myself without a league to play in ... less than a week before the season starts.

I'll probably be signing up for a Yahoo league with a bunch of strangers, but it's not the same talking smack to people you don't know. Are there any Kittens out there that still have a spot left in their league that would be willing to take in a stray?

There was one in 2007 actually, it was a MKF one that ran from 2007 to 2008.

There was an earlier one in 2003 as well, but it was soccer.

Yeah yeah, lets just hope next year they'll be playing all the way home to another Superbowl title. (Superbowl is in New Orleans next year)

There is a sort of zen calm with following the Lions..The season has a definitive end (the last regular game) and after 0-16 its all sort of good by comparison.

Or not catch the fucking punt? Jesus when that ball rolled away and they reviewed the play . . . I had to stop my partner from jumping into the TV and strangling the guy.

So who had a crappier day: Kyle Williams or Billy Cundiff?

Ugh. I feel bad for Williams. He was a back up, and apparently nobody told him, "Just catch the fucking ball and fall down on the ground, man. Don't be a hero!" I wouldn't want to be either one of them tonight, though, that's for sure.

That was CRAZY! He needs to be run out of town on a rail! The first was one of the biggest bonehead moves EVER! What killed me was that he KNEW that ball hit him and he just stopped and allowed the Giants to pick it up. He didn't fight for the ball, try to make a tackle, nothing. IDIOT!

I don't feel bad for him at all.

The Dolphins won AGAIN yesterday! It was an early Christmas miracle! Hopefully they will continue to strengthen their game and at least end the season over 500.

On to more important matters...the TEXANS! Game on in 28 minutes. Thrilled to see them undefeated and hoping they route the Jets. I'm not a fan of any team in the AFC East (aside from Miami, of course) and automatically become a fan of ANY team playing them:) But since I live in Houston...GO TEXANS!
