when I spend ages painting my nails and they look mega good and then chip within a day for some reason moreso with the darker colours...petty but a little annoying.

My stepmom swears up and down that sometime within the last 3 or 4 years I got dragged by her and my sisters to a nail parlour and started to get a pedicure but then hated it and went off to a corner to read, until we all walked back to she and my dad's house.

I have absolutely *no* memory of: ever being anywhere with my stepmom and all my sisters with no else around, ever getting dragged anywhere by any of them, ever walking anywhere with either of my two older sisters, or having even the start of a pedicure. Somehow I really think I would remember at least one of those vaguely; either my stepmom's crazy or I am.

feeling very lack lustre re my writing as regards some very non constructive comments. I don't like this feeling of being useless. I know I am a good writer if you have constructive criticism sure I will take it but if you don't then just please shush and let me get on with it don't sh*t all over my dream and a project that has taken me a majority of this year to complete. I can't fail in this. I just can't.

First Random Moment: Joe Flacco is a seriously handsome man. If I wasn't gay...

Second: I love when football players are interviewed and credit the winning catch or whatever as "God's Will." As if there were nothing more important to God than them scoring a touchdown. I mean, do they really think that?

My random thought - So when Chiara takes a bath or shower (which is frequently) she fills up all the little plastic toy cups and pitchers and stuff in the bathtub before she gets out. I asked her why once. So the ducks (rubber duckies) or dolphins and whales etc. have some water to drink. How cute is that?

sometimes I find book shops overwhelming because its like oh my gosh it would literally take more than a whole lifetime to read all thats out there. I wish that I could read all the books in the world, so much more knowledge and everything... I am such a book geek I am really glad I kept a book diary so I can add up all the books I read this year :D

At dinner tonight and my 12 yr old daughter says, "Hey guys I have a joke! Wanna hear?"

ME: OK Shoot!
J: Ask me how my unicorn is.
ME: Ok, how's your unicorn?
J: Horney as ever! :rofl
MY WIFE: *sighs, shaking her head* Wow, you ran straight into that one.

I had a professor in college who would rant about people saying that kind of shit: he said if God wasn't going to intervene to stop the Holocaust, he didn't give a flying fuck about a stupid baseball game. Those are more or less his words, actually. He was a . . . different kind of professor. Awesome, though.

My random moment:
I'm in the elevator at work, reading Tipping the Velvet when someone from HR on my floor notices me reading.
Her: Liking your book?
Me: Yes, very much.
Her: You must, to be reading it in the elevator.
Both: *chuckle*
Her: So, what kind of book is it.
Me: Historical fiction
Her: Oh, I love historical fiction! When is it set?
Me: England, 1889
Her: My favorite. Do you think my book club would like it?
Me: *thinks* Maybe, it depends. Does your book club like lesbian fiction?
Her: Not so much.
Me: Well, it is more explicit than general fiction might be.

At this point we went down different hallways. I wish I had come up with something better to say. Something about how it's an amazing book, and that they should give it a try.

May I ask why? I've read Tipping the Velvet at least a dozen times but Affinity only twice. It just never took hold of me. Surely you must have a good reason, perhaps something I'm missing...

I got a check for $15 from my dad for my charity run. I e-mailed him to say it arrived and thanks and he said my step-mom is sending one as well. She did. $25. This is weird. First off, they have separate money and separate charitable budgets? Second, I've known her since I was 8 years old. I that time, I've probably gotten 3 pieces of mail from her and this is the first time she's ever supported anything I ever did. Like it's not like she bought my girl scout cookies or anything. I'm grateful but also sort of stumped.

Driving to work this morning and saw two small animals in the road. At first I thought they were opossum's, but upon closer inspection I realized it was two small pigs. Well, that was a first.

I was at a restaurant and needed to use the restroom. My god some woman in there was taking forever and I said fuck it and couldn't wait anymore. I ended up using the mens room. LOL. I have never done that before, especially in public like that. Good thing it was a fancy place cos the restroom was quite nice actually. :P I snuck out hoping nobody would catch me coming out of there. Mission accomplished! :D
