ooh, ooh, i know. it's dave carter and tracy grammer, "farewell to fiddler's rim." i love them. i was at falcon ridge the week he died and tracy came anyway and played "gentle soldier of my soul" at the beginning of the tribute set, and it was just so incredibly sad. his music still has such an amazing presence at that festival every year since his death. it's funny, today i was filling out one of those silly surveys on myspace in which you finish a sentence. one said "love is..." and i wrote "a tanglewood tree" and linked to the lyrcis. such an incredible songwriter that guy.
okay, here's one that just popped up on my playlist:
she says, "come on grow old with me,
they say the best is yet to be.
i ask you to hold my hand, put your arm around me, help me understand.
dependence is new to me.
completeness, a wonder to see.
something comes inside of me,
and i, i have never, never felt so free.
i'll tell you once.
i can't do it again.
i love you more than i can comprehend."
this was an independent girl.
