Autocorrect cracked me up on Twitter today.

Me:It's nice to wake up to a massage from one of my favorite writers @antonstrout, saying I won one of his "Get Stoned" gargoyle buttons! Yeej!
‏@Soofelepoofel:@Fallon_Christy whoa I'd love a massage! My neck's a bit stiff... ;))
Me: @Soofelepoofel that was supposed to say message, not massage. Stupid autocorrect
@antonstrout: @Fallon_Christy @soofelepoofel I do a lot for my fans!

I don't want to go to work. I want to go back to bed. I couldn't fall asleep. Then woke up at 3:00 because the people behind us had their flood light on. Arggghhh. Tired.

I keep a notebook by my bed to jot down random ideas I have in dreams. Most of the time I'll wake up and have written something and can't remember doing so.

This morning I woke up to 'Half the gay' written big and furiously underlined. No idea what I should take from this.

I used to do the same thing!! Weirdest one I can remember (that's only slightly worrying) is when I wrote down, "Blue, Blue, Green, Blue. Better code."

My drive to and from work is a 12 mile stretch of semi-country road. I say 'semi' because on the west side is a back-woods rural community and on the east side is a super wealthy community. This particular road is VERY popular for cyclists because of the wide shoulders on each side and is especially busy on the weekends.

So, this morning I see a group of about a dozen riders. They were all fit and trim, dressed in bright colored uniforms and riding bikes that I'm sure cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Then, about two hundred yards behind them, I see this guy with a mullet on a rickety old Schwinn with a flower basket on the front. He was in torn dirty jeans, a flannel shirt, a tattered John Deere hat and smoking a cigarette.

Only in Texas people. ONLY. IN. TEXAS.

So I'm watching NickJr with my kids, and a commercial comes on for Dora and her Pony, or something like that. I had always thought NickJr was commercial-free, so it was kind of a surprise. Not sure when they changed, just seems to have happened.

Now, I'm not against anyone trying to make a buck, and I know times are pretty hard for a lot of companies. Still, I couldn't help feeling a little disappointed that even here, where they had always said it was "commercial-free," someone was trying to sell me something. Also, as I'm already paying for this channel, it's like they're double-dipping in my salsa.

I didn't post this in the Rant thread because, at the end of the day, this really wasn't such a big deal to me. Things change, and if a little commercialism keeps Dora or the Wonder Pets going then I don't really mind. It was just nice to go from kids show to kids show without a lot of interruption (although I suppose it could be argued all those Fresh Beat Band video clips were promos for their cd & tour ... which mrs. gorn & I went to see).

So now that we live in a state with gay marriage (woot!) we've been talking about last names. We thought about doing a "brangelina" type name and combining them, but one way sounds fairly Asian (nothing wrong with that, just false advertising) and the other way sounds like a dirty word no one had thought of yet.

After deciding to watch Warehouse 13 over dinner, we pulled up Netflix, Adam saw BtVS as the "most recently watched" item.

Adam: *Gives me a look*
Me: What? I needed to check something.
Adam: You were doing research.
Me: Yes! I was trying to see how Willow's skirt fastened.
Adam: *tips his head* Congratulations, your look has been upgraded to "over the glasses."
Me: Well I need to know! Not that I could see.

(Disclaimer: This post will not make sense to most kittens.)
I made a TARDIS cake for a coworker and worked really hard decorating it, but I suck at baking and it was threatening to fall apart, so I thought to myself, 'Worst case scenario, it can be a Pandorica Opens cake!'

I had a student association gathering thing with hot cocao and rum after college. Very cozy and funny, more and more funny the more the bottles of rum became less filled. I was talking to a fellow student that is in her third year and we talked about the course by the name of gender studies, and that there was a whole section about strong women in classic Hollywood films comparing to modern media. And then all of a sudden Buffy was a topic where the whole coversation led to. Turned out that girl was a big fan of Buffy, especially "Once More with Feeling", and she started to sing "Walk Through the Fire" (I blame the rum for that) So now we are going to meet up soon to watch the episode and eat some bad take away food. I really really really love my studies and its students.

My phone died. Just sort of randomly stopped working. At all. I called and went through a few people and yep. Phone = dead. They're sending me a new one Monday that should come in 7 days. I could have paid $19.99 for it to come in 3 days but I'm seriously not paying that. The rep kept saying she was so sorry and that she knew I was so upset and I was actually like... "sort of a first-world problem though..." I mean it will be inconvenient but it's not the end of the world to have no phone for a week. I posted it on fb and tagged my brother, sister, SIL, and 2 best friends. So ...

Today I met a real life Bambi Rae Swallows. Not kidding. Just substitute blonde hair for jet black with extensions and she was a total Doppelganger. Oh and she is a HORRIBLE parent!! If you read Racing The Rain, you'll totally get it, if not...sorry. :p

So, I'm upstairs putting laundry away and all is well. I go to use the bathroom and all hell breaks loose...dogs barking, kids screaming, etc. Apparently, the two youngest (7 and 8), of the 8 kids next door, got into a fight over a sticker or a banana or something. Anyway, the younger of the two decides that the best way to end it was to spray her sister in the eyes with 409. Then the older girls, in a blind panic, ran her over here causing my kid to panic. All I could hear from my position was, "eyes," "chemicals," and "my mom's gonna kill us!"

She's fine, flushed with water and good to go. But it left me wondering...why have all the 911 situations with the kids ALWAYS occurred when I'm using the bathroom? Seriously, can I just not be on the toilet the next time someone looses an eye?

One of my kids said my name today! Admittedly one of them has been saying it for weeks, but he talks like crazy; the girl who said it today only has maybe two dozen words, and my name is one of them. I was so surprised when she said it I even wondered if I'd misheard, but it was definitely "Jazzy."
On a related note, even though at work I go by Jasmine, not Jas, the boy who learned my name a few weeks back calls me Jazzy, so now half the time my coworkers do too.

For the last week we've been moving toward getting the children out of our bedroom. For nearly 9 years we've had children either sleeping in our bed or our room at minimum. Last week instead of moving Chiara into our room with Asher, we moved Asher into Chiara's room (queen sized bed) with her. They both make it part of the way through the night and then get in our bed which is a good step.

But you know what? Last night I put them in our bed and kept them there all night and plan to do the same tonight and for as long as I can see.
