I received an unexpected call from a person that has so much significance to me. I might be seeing her next month. It will mean a lot since it's been 4 years since I've last seen her.

Yesterday my nephew, niece and daughter were involved in a car accident. Everyone is fine, although I can't say the same for my nephew's car. Coincidentally, my youngest nephew (brother of the one here) was also involved in a car accident yesterday as well. He's in Tennessee visiting his father for the holidays and they got into a parking lot fender bender. Seriously, what are the odds? My sister is driving up tomorrow and I'm already a nervous wreck.

The amazing fanfic author Lisa Countryman wrote great stories. Most people seem to like Unexpected Consequences best, but my favourite has always been Tears of the Goddess. I've read it over and over, but didn't figure out until the 2nd or 3rd that it's a crossover between Buffy and ER, or rather has a characyer in it from ER. Eventually, it was one of thw reasons I started watching ER last year, but I kept getting distracted and haven't seen that far in the series. I hadn't thought about that story in a while, but today I was watching an episode from season 3 and I squeed to the point of bouncing in my chair when Dr. Doyle came along. It's Dr. Demon Cousin Lady!!!!

Over this past weekend we saw the movie Argo, it was fantastic, especially if you're old enough to remember the Iranian hostage crisis. Our daughter wanted to see 'Mama,' which neither my wife nor I have any desire to see. We told her she could go if she found a friend to go with her and of course none of their parents would let them.

Anyway, there was a scene in which Tom Lenk played a Hollywood reporter and my kid decides at that quiet moment in the theater to yell, "OMG (literally O.M.G) MOM, IT'S ANDREW!!!" Embarrassing much? Y.E.S.

Heard Goody two shoes by Adam Ant on the radio today.

When I was in high school there were two lesbians at the school and my mother said that was because they listened to Adam Ant.

Hey wait a minute... I listened to Adam Ant too.

Suddenly I realize I feel liberated. Though I might not be at the place in my life where I thought I would be when I pictured my future when I was twenty. But I got through my depression that I was in since puberty. I am standing on my own two feet. I made the decision to go back to school and attend the best University in the country. I've cut off all contact with my dad after too many attempts to try to get to know him and forgive him for what he did to my mother, my siblings and myself. Only to find out he still only thinks about himself, so all the years I've infested in that was for nothing. I am renewing my bond with people I've lost contact with in the past, but still want them to be a part of my life. I am working out four times a week and I'm losing weight and I feel great. People are flirting with me again because my wall has dissapeared. And somehow everybody around me says I am special and talented, and life is good. The only downside in my life right know is that I live on 200 square feet and sometimes don't even have money to buy coffee.

I am going to my mom's now for 5 days, and I am so excited. Not only because I haven't been there for a while, but because things are different now. She lives on the countryside, so I am going to run in the morning and enjoy the surroundings. Spend time with my sister's little son and write a lot. And I know that everything sounds like a cheesy Lifetime movie. But I am nowhere near where I want to be, but I am on the right road and I am doing it all by myself, and I am happy. I am turning thirty and I have survived my teenage depression and my quarter-life crisis. So, suck on that, life!

And sorry for the whole ramble, but sometimes things need to get out. And it's easier to ramble about these things to people you don't know very well :)

Spent some time with my bff and went to go see Identity Thief last night. I'll support anything Melissa McCarthy is involved in. She is hilarious, not to mention great. I didn't know she had another movie coming out soon with Sandra Bullock.

Today this big burly guy stopped by my studio to drop of a flyer for his roofing business. He asks if I photograph anything besides people. I said yes and asked what he had in mind. He said that he really wanted to get some nice portraits of his dogs. Now, I'm thinking Doberman, Shepherd, Rottweiler....uh no. The guy then says, "Would you like to see a picture of my babies? Aren't they just the cutest?!" That's right, the man actually squealed while showing me at least a half dozen pictures of his tea cup Chihuahua's.

lol chihuahua's can have that effect on a lot of people. My ex and I had a little chihuahua/jack-russel mix. I'll admit she brought out my inner squealer quite a few times. Damn, I miss spoiling that dog...if ever there was a Daddy's Little Girl...
If you really want to know a person on the deepest level, watch them interact with their pets. Growing up, (and still sometimes now) people used to tell me I always looked like I was about to go kick someone's ass, but anyone who saw me with my dogs knows just how soft my soft-side really is.

Anyway, my random statement:

Once every few months I watch "Seeing Red" all the way through hoping the ending will change. Then of course it doesn't and I have to come here and read lots of fluff. Today was one of those days.

From 1999 until 2009 I had a serious Angelina Jolie obsession. The obsession has become way less, but I still thinks she rocks and I'm looking forward to Salt 2 and Maleficent!!

Pets are awesome. They're always loyal, no matter what. They don't care if you're gay, straight, or bi; white, black, brown, or other; republican, democrat, or liberal; whether you follow the judeo-christian God, Buddha, or nothing at all; where you come from or where you want to end up. They don't care who your friends are, what kind of music you listen to, what kind of clothes you wear, or what you do for a living. As long as you love them, they'll always love you back.

Why can't more people be like that?

I remember finding a website a little way back that told me the name of Schrodinger's cat. Apparently he actually had a cat, but not the hypothetical one of the quantum variety, and now I'm sitting watching a re-run of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon uses Schrodinger's Cat as a way to explain things to Penny - my random is:

Did I imagine the website that told me the cat's name? Cos I have searched repeatedly for it and have never found it again.

Maybe if I had never looked for it, the website would still exist, or not!

I drove around a corner in our neighborhood this morning and startled a bald eagle into dropping a road kill he'd gotten about four feet off the ground. At least, I think/hope it was road kill, (it's pretty common for us to see dead opossums there), I was looking much more at the enormous bird than what it dropped. The next time we foster a small dog I'm probably going to be keeping a better eye on it when it's out in our yard.
