It's April 15th and I'm NOT sitting in some random H&R Block office in the midwest trying to keep out of sight of the local morning news cameras showing all the idiots who are doing their taxes at the last possible moment. In fact, thanks to my lovely non-procrastinating wife, we already got our return back about a month ago. It's so nice that today is no longer a day for me to dread, instead it's a nice day to go on a hike.

I was at the post office to send some letters out to my woman. I was stoked seeing they're finally using a different international stamp. I was stuck with the Christmas reeves from 2014's collection. It only took 6 months. :P

I will travel across continents to see Amber Benson, but I really can't be bothered with the two hours it would take to see Emma Caulfield and Nicholas Brendon next weekend.

Last week one of my clients heard a light "tapping" at the backdoor of my studio. She said, "I think someone's at the door." It was early and the door was still locked, so I knew it was none of my employees, but there was definitely tapping. I shrugged, unlocked and opened the door. IT WAS THE DUCKS. ALL EIGHT OF THEM. They've followed me around, pecked at my feet and even quacked loudly for food, but never once have they even actually knocked on the door and tried to come inside. Surreal doesn't even start to cover it.

We have like close to a case of assorted Shiner leftover from the wedding (really we had way too much of everything and sent lots of stuff home with folks). So apparently Rachel just understood last week that I really only like pale ales and such. So there's like 20 beers I won't drink. And tonight she was like "hey! We could take all that Shiner to my dad this weekend."

Well... yes. We could take it to him. We could take it to him. Or we could give it to the across the street neighbors who stored a bunch of beer for us for 3 weeks in their frig. Or we could give it to our best friends who helped out in 23 ways for the wedding and who have babysat our kids many times for free. Or we could give it to my brother who hosted a rehearsal dinner for our wedding on like 8 days notice. But yes. We could take it to her dad who neither sent a gift, nor a card, nor a phone call for the wedding. That sounds perfect.

Sorry to sound so resentful. I find myself getting triggered when I think about Rachel's own parents not coming to the wedding or making any effort beyond saying they couldn't come.

A friend posted this on FB and it made me LOL, so I thought I'd share...enjoy!

Christian has been singing songs he has learned at preschool and will be performing next week at their Christmas Program.
I have had the pleasure of listening to a 4 yr. old singing "Hark the Hairball Angels sing!"

I found myself looking up Fried Green Tomatoes fanfiction today.

That seemed like a pretty random moment in and of itself.

My girlfriend is going to Stockholm with her best friend for a few days. Secretly I am looking forward to some alone time, but I also dread sleeping and waking up alone... So now I'm overthinking the whole situation..

My best friend was applying hair removal cream to her legs and when she was finished wiped her forehead, thus transferring cream across half of her eyebrow which she didn't notice for half an hour ImageImageImage

Postby gorn » Fri Jun 02, 2017 8:16 pm

Just walked into the kitchen and found Mrs. gorn sitting on the floor reading a magazine. I've seen her do this kind of thing before, but I asked anyway why she was sitting on the floor.

"I don't know. I'm Japanese, sometimes I just feel like it."

This wasn't the living room or the bedroom, mind you, it was the kitchen. And around 11pm at night. But she's right. We've been in the States for years now, but every so often I'll find her sitting or kneeling in a kind of weird place acting like it's totally normal ... and for her it probably is. Strange, but I get it. When we visit her folks in Japan it's the other way around - they always ask me why I'm always sitting in the dining room, and it's because those are the only chairs in the whole goddamn house.
I spent most of my money on liquor and women,
The rest I wasted.
