What kind of vehicle does everyone drive?

Postby jeepchick scully » Fri Jun 06, 2003 11:42 am

Sorry guys, just wondering what you all drive or what you wish you could dive. I drive a jeep grand Cherokee Laredo, a red one. BUT, I'm so going to trade it in for a wrangler I think-a green one. How about all you?

Take care,

Shanna :pride

Can't afford anything faster than my feet. They do work well: they run, walk, kick ass, and a lot of funny things. I'd like to get a driving licence as soon as I graduate, I'm 25, and I'm getting tired of being without wheels.

I drive a P.O.S. It's a 1990 Chevy cavailier with no paint on it to speak of that isn't chipping or rusting off. The transmission is questionable and I thought I saw the muffler jump the other day when my mom started it. Eek.:spin

Hey All,

I drive a brand spanking new 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT. The color is called "Polo Green" but to me its Hunter Green which is my favorite color. After driving an SUV for so long, I didn't think I'd like a car, but I really love it.

My daily driver is a red Saturn SC2. My toy is an '84 Mustang GT convertible; it's medium red, with a black top.

Both cars are pretty thrashed, and it's getting to be time to replace one of them. I can't justify spending the money for a brand new car when I need to be spending money on a new flute and, possibly, a new piccolo. So, I'll buy something "pre-owned" that I think I'd have fun driving: maybe a Mitsubishi 3000GT(or its corporate twin, the Dodge Stealth,) or an entry-level BMW. I would love to buy a used Corvette, but the gas mileage would be abysmal; since I drive at least 20,000 miles per year, owning a 'Vette would put a big dent in my bank account.

It'll be the train, Walter, just the way you want it. Straight down the line.

My baby is a Metalic Blue 2000 Chevy Cavalier, 2 door with tints, a kick-ass system to rock out to, a fuzzy white leopard sterring wheel cover, and lil Superman hanging from my rear-view mirror. Hopefully I can do a little upgrade with some new rims, ground effects, and some new subs...well I can wish at least.

My vehicle I want when I'm older is a Deep Blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, with a nice system put in...and maybe some other custom things.

She's my girl, she's my everything.

I drive a 2002 hunter green Nissan Maxima - fully loaded, purrs like a kitten, fabulous machine, great gas mileage, comfy comfy roomy roomy happy happy. :laugh

I love Nissans - been driving them for a bit and I've never had issues with them. I highly recommend these puppies!

That said - oil and the car industry is evil and I wish they'd make better electric cars! :grin

Um, didn't we do our cars (ooh, not *that* way!) a few weeks ago? (Heh-heh. Checkie, I see you de-lurked re: your cars again! ;) ). Oh well, as "Rebound" has been very cooperative of late, I'm happy to praise my intrepid lil '88 Honda Accord again! :applause

I had Rebound's oil changed (I regret not being butch enough to do it myself :confused ) this week, and in the process, one of the early 20-something grease monkeys actually attempted to hit on 41 year-old GG! :p I was too busy being flattered by attention from someone young enough to be my kid, to worry about a "Sorry, wrong gender" brush-off . . . :lol

GG At the same time, said "GG-enthralled" mechanic nevertheless lectured me on the state of Rebound's oil (OK, it had been awhile---I'm poor y'know?). But Rebound keeps on keepin' on, despite its neglectful (but apparently still appealing!) owner. Luv ya Rebound! :kiss Out

I've got my dinky little '93 (?) Toyota Corolla hatchback. It's been passed on from my dad to my brother to me and it's still running pretty well. My friends have dubbed it 'Panda Lightning' or something like that. The Panda part 'cause it's white with black bumpers. :lol Just something they came up with on a whim, 'cause I'm always driving 'em around in it. :D

I really like my cute, little car, but it's getting replaced soon by the other white, Toyota Corolla in the family. Yeah, my family seems to really like the Toyota brand. My mom has an Avalon, my brother wants a Lexus, and then there are the two Corollas. There's only the Lincoln that's the oddball, but it's being given away soon, since it's so beat up. :D

Usually I'm mild mannered teacher type person driving my mums Ford Fiesta (complete with scrapes and dents) but at weekends and on sunny days I turn into Biggles the demon kitcar driver.

I drive a plastic car, with no roof or roll cage WAY TOO FAST!! :jho It is an NG TA (based on a 1930's Aston Martin)

There's nothing better than putting on my goggles and flying jacket bombing down the street only to stop at traffic lights, and have some bloke gawp at you when they realise (and I quote..) "ooh you're a girl!!"

Then you can roar away whilst giving them the finger...not that i would do that at all of course..erhem :angel

I drive a 1998 Plymouth Neon, in Bright Platinum Metallic. It's not Sliver. It's Platinum. I paid extra for it, so it's Platinum.

I've always been a car nut, and right now the one tickling my fancy is those brand new Ford Thunderbirds. I'd want one in that Aqua blue 50's retro color. I love old cars (almost anything pre-1970), and would jump at the chance of owning one. Or at least one that looked like an old one. But with a base price of over $37,000, I don't think that will be happening anytime soon.

I drive a lovely forest green Peugeot 206 by the name of Velma, which I love.

Little Velma's been at the repair shop for three weeks because she was bashed into by a drunk driver.

Now she's back almost as good as new. How I've missed her :)

I don't have a car at present, but I've had a couple in my time. My first car though, was just the most wonderful crappy vehicle in the world. I had a Skoda Rapid (yes yes, I'm aware of the irony there, humph) that was kind of orange coloured. I have fond memories of when I lived in Liverpool and used to go to school under the Mersey in that thing. God bless it. The engine stopped working though. Which is, I believe, pretty severe if you want to drive a car. Ahem.

And, talking of names, my car was called Sonia. Because it was ginger, a bit tacky, and lived in Liverpool. ;)

I drive a beaten up old VW Golf. Supposed to be red but has now gone a pink shade, complementing nicely with the rust that is starting to take over rather.

At the moment said piece of metal is stranded at work with a flat as a pancake battery which due to the crappy weather yesterday i never got sorted.

The inside is um, well not exactly tidy and the boot is full of sporting equipment. *shrugs*. So thats my pink machine.

Evening all,

I have a lovely white Nova called Gloria, without whom I think my world may fall apart. She is the replacement of my first love Boris, an old red Nova who sadly I had to put out to stud because his brakes were, well frankly, non-existent :sob Made taking my mum to the pictures fun tho :grin

My car is full of maps (Christ knows why, I can't read the bloody things and rely on my erstwhile gf to point me in the right direction (ish ;) ), various fluffy toys that my friends have bought me (I would like to point out very few people have a vampire cow called Flange and a Loch Ness monster in their side door pocket - I'm so proud :p ) and small nodding dog who I at first loathed because I hate the things, but now Mungo must live in every car I possess (somebody shoot me - I have an emotional attachment to a nodding dog :blush )

I think perhaps the most bizarre thing I have in my car is a pair of feet stuck to the dashboard. He once belonged to a swinging Hula man named Eric who was lopped off at the ankles within the first 2 days of being in my car (I would like to point out that Eric was a present and I did not go and buy him myself!) by my bestest bud but also the most accident-prone man I know whilst moving the car seat forward. Some people think it strange, I like to look on it as an eccentric British quirk *he-hem* Feet and a nodding dog - yes, yes I need help :grin

I must also give a shout out to the penguin in my door pocket just because he's called Weezy and he rocks. Shoot me, for the love of god shoot me :rolleyes Sometimes it's not so much driving a car, as taking a stuffed animal zoo to work :grin

Best thing about my car is by far the stereo tho - cd player and surround speaker set up. I'm such a girl racer :blush

Have a good evening kittens,

~Lou

PS. Shit, I just realised, I'm dating Biggles :laugh

When I was 15 I got my first car, an orange 1974 VW SuperBeetle. It was one of those wacky "automatic stick shifts," you know, the kind where you shift gears but there's no clutch. I've been reminiscing about it a lot lately since my friend just bought a new orange bug. Mine was waaay cooler. It could travel up to 10 miles from my house, melt hard rubber with its heater (which was perpetually stuck in the "on" position), and would randomly fail to crank. God, I really miss that car.

Then I got myself a little metallic black/shit-brown/greenish Saturn. It was a real 5-speed, and it had the weakest body of any car ever. My best friend drove a bronco and managed to punch quite a few holes in it with his spare tire latch. Heh.

Then I got my current gas hog. A green Nissan pathfinder. It's also a 5-speed, but the thing gobbles up gas like there's no tomorrow. Oh, and the CD player wont work when it's hot and/or humid. How nice. I can't wait to get rid of it in lieu of a nice, older model silver or black VW jetta, 5-speed of course.

And now it has occurred to me that my obsession with driving stick is ... ahem ... troubling, to say the least. :|

Oh not true, meine Freundin. You're just wanting to heed the call of true German engineering and drive a vehicle that will make you wish you could cruise as fast as you can on the Autobahn without having to pay $30K or more for the perks! :grin See, my problem is, my dream car is a BMW and I've been driving the poor local dealer mad with coming in to test drive his new vehicles. Sadly, he just keeps on giving me the keys so I just keep on driving :eyeglasses. Driving a manual is the only way to drive a car IMHO. Automatic is just so.....boring.
