I am new here, and don't really know if this is the place to put this or not, but i thought that more people should know about this.
I live in a very prejudice town, Clarksville TN. I'm 10 minutes away from Fort Campbell Kentucky and the army base. There has been alot of "gays" outed on base lately. The local newspaper is full of "gay bashings" going out in the middle of broad daylight on BASE!
On April 25th 2005, a 16 year old lesbian girl at my High School, was jumped in the bathroom and beaten by 2 other girls claiming "Being Gay is unnatural and it wouldn't matter if the girl was beaten or not, she would go to hell anyway"
I asked one of my teachers what would happen to the girls who did this and he said that "Without valid proof that they did it, such as a videotape the girls would probly only be suspended for a few days"
This is really wrong and i just needed to kind of tell someone about it, because all my friends are tired of hearing about it from me, and i can't really talk to other lesbians or bisexuals about this because most people here are too afraid to let it be known that they are homosexual.
