I’ve been playing this game on another site (thanks to KerochanNoMiko for starting it up), and thought it would do well over here. Here’s how you play:
I'll post a few lines from a song. The next person posts “Linked word = [linked word],” and a new lyric snippet, which must have at least one word in common with the previous lyrics.
Rules:
- Please use bold tags on your linked word so they stand out.
- Don't link words like 'and' or 'the.'
- Don't quote the entire song, just several lines (enough to give the next person an adequate buffet of vocabulary goodness).
- Don't use the same word as a link two times in a row.
- Please wait for at least two other people to post before you post again.
For example, if I post:
I’m in so deep.
You know I’m such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger
Do you have to let it linger?
“Linger,” The Cranberries
Then the next person could post:
Linked word = Linger
Sometimes I feel so happy,
Sometimes I feel so sad.
Sometimes I feel so happy,
But mostly you just make me mad.
Baby, you just make me mad.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.
“Pale Blue Eyes,” The Velvet Underground
And so on...got it? Okay, here we go:
Saw your exhibition happening,
You looked like a movie queen,
Acting out your finest role,
Acting like you didn’t know your
Lines by heart, so you could please
The voyeur in the balcony.
“Voyeur in the Balcony,” The Catheads
