Hey! Advice Please

Postby idontlikejam » Thu Feb 23, 2006 4:14 pm

Well hi there, im a serial lurker :-D and i need some advice with my love life

Ysee theres this girl who I have a pretty big crush on but i generally only ever see her when her band plays shows which isnt that often. last time (sunday) they had a show i went up and talked to her and did that fun thing where you dont remember how to speak properly, but i mumbled out some sentences and she spoke back and said she remembered me from ages ago and, well, basically i want advice on how to pick up girls cus i really dont ever do it, and i want her to like me, so how do you impress them? is it just an individual thing? is it cute when people come and babble at you or slightly scary? shall i give her my number or wait and see what she does next time i see her?

i could ask my friends but this is less embarrassing. and advice would be most appreciated

It's really corny, but what I would suggest is that you just be yourself. Women, in my opinion, don't generally like people trying to pretend to be somebody that they aren't.

As discouraged as meeting people on the internet is... maybe you should give her your screen name. The internet takes the pressure off. Of course once you start talking to her I strongly suggest the phone number bit.

My advice would be: try the direct approach. You'll never know if she's open to diggin' ya if you don't ask.

ETA: try slipping her your number all suave like. And then say something like "Hey baby.....(something smooth)" then wink at her and walk away.

Emms is right.
Maybe you could, I don't know, during her next show have a drink with her or something and just talk? Make it clear that you like her. What's the worst that can happen? That she'll say no? It'll bruise your ego a little but hey, that's life. At least you'll know you tried...the way I see it you don't have much to lose.
Good luck! :-D

I'd totally say you want to be direct and ask her to do something with you. Something that requires talking and having fun. What does she like to do? Drink? Drink coffee? Listen to music? Go hiking? Whatever it is, just ask her, "hey. Do you want to go get coffee sometime? How about Tuesday?" If you don't know what she likes to do, just go with something that most people like: food, drink, going to the park. Make it clear you're asking her to do it with you and try to set a time and way to contact her. You don't have to say, "man, I really dig you..." Just ask. Good luck.
