Haiti

Postby EasierSaid » Wed Jan 13, 2010 10:00 am

By now you've probably seen that Port-au-Prince, and many other parts of Haiti, have been destroyed by a massive earthquake. The devastation is almost inconceivable. If you're in a position to give, Doctors Without Borders is accepting donations for their relief work there now. All donations to the Haiti fund will be used in Haiti; if they reach their goal, they'll let you know and offer up general fund donations instead. Please help if you can.

Bumped for a good cause.
I spent most of my money on liquor and women,
The rest I wasted.

Want to donate to Haiti relief (or any other cause) but don't want to give out your personal info or e-mail? http://www1.networkforgood.org/help-haiti-quake-relief . Network for good will let you donate to almost any charity you can think of, and acts as a middleman so that you're not directly giving out your info.
It's easy to use for a one time donation, but you can also make a profile page, easy for tracking your donations for the year come tax time.

I just went to the red cross site (www.redcross.org) and donated. You can direct it to international efforts at disaster relief including Haiti. Another good one is Oxfam.

I also heard a cool story on NPR about the texting donations and how easy and fast it is and that it's changing the face of fund raising.

More ways to help..

Amber Benson launched a charity/contest to raise funds for the ASPCA. I'm mentioning it here because the ASPCA has teamed up with the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti.
