Interestingly, the armchair generals usually lose. Tonight there was a team of military combined sevices bods fighting as Alexander the Great against the Indian Emeror 360bc, and whereas Alexander beat the Indians, this lot were soundly thrashed, double quick.



It's on BBC 2 on sSunday nights, unsure as to whether it will be screened elswhere.

Which is ironic as the previous two weeks a team of vicars and a team consisting of a mother commanding her children achieved stunning victories. Also if you like the program try the game. The engine they use for the battles on the show is the one from 'Rome Total War' for the PC.
