Salem Witch Trials, koala bears, SpongeBob: what's on TV and at the movies!

While, as usual, there was much to laugh at in tonight's ep . . . :-D

. . . I'm a little bit miffed that we never see Regina w/ a girlfriend (conveniently "broke up w/ Beth" just before the winter cabin-fever getaway setting tonight). :happy

GG And I'd really prefer to see her w/ a partner, if she's gonna have a kid. For us, the viewer's sake, as much as her's! Out

That episode was hysterical. Really, there isn't a weak member in this cast. Stockard Channing especially just kills me.

I thought the pregnancy test was Lydia's. Then Crystal could have joined the guys in their hysteria, since Lydia was last involved with Crystal's dad.

We finally got to see two women kiss. That it was two of Regina's ex's was pretty funny. Reminded me of my college days. Hopefully we'll get to meet one of Regina's girlfriends next (and hopefully there will be more kissing).

We have a Tivo with a DVD burner, and we burned a couple episodes of Ellen for some friends who missed a show they wanted to see. Since I still had room on the DVD, I included a couple episodes of Out of Practice. I mean, I had to. Friends don't let friends go through life without seeing Out of Practice.

Starting in about 2 minutes...

GG Eastern Standard Time Out

ETA (30 minutes later): . . . and still the best sitcom on TV! :lmao

Especially loved when Marion Ross arrived at Lydia's place (w/ her and Stewart pretending to still be married), and when Regina showed up (was clued in . . . and then rubbed it in! :lol)

This show better get renewed!

Ever notice how Regina always gets the killer lines? Could be cuz she has such great natural wise-ass timing...she was too funny messing with her parents tonight! And that line about the "spankable" sexpot or whatever it was...also the bit about her putting her Barbie's in such odd positions and the "we have more information on that" reply was awesome...if I hadn't been lying on my bed I would have fallen off my chair! All in all they definitely came back with a bang...and I would like to add my chorus to the when-are-we-gonna-see-Regina-with-a-girlfriend camp...although there was that one episode where all three of them were after the one woman...lets keep our fingers any other appendages allowing for semi-perpendicular arrangement crossed :pride Go Regina! Also I love that they have made her such a dog when it comes to women...ogling right along with her brothers...not that that's admirable behavior, but infinitely preferable to the asexual lesbians one generally gets on network TV...she also looks really great in a pair of jeans! :kdevil

Regina may have had the smallest role in this episode, but she definitely had the funniest lines.

One of my favorite - when Ben is complaining that all he and his new girlfriend do is have sex and Regina advises him to break if off soon before the girlfriend shows up with a twin and a pizza.

Stockard Channing was particularly funny, fending off the romantic :::snort!::: "advances" of Ben's (the youngest son's) friend. :lol

GG {sigh} Though I wish---for a Valentine's ep---that Regina had had a date... (she was still both funny, and touching, as she tended to her ailing dad in the ER) :heart Out

Oh, CBS: please, please, please, please PLEASE RENEW THIS SHOW!!! :pray

[I'm almost afraid to ask: anyone know how this show is doing in the ratings now---in its new day/time-slot?]

The show is going off the air--for now at least. From Zap2it (see especially the last two paragraphs):

'Amazing Race' Gets Fresh Start
Show moves to Wednesdays, bumping 'Alex,' 'Practice'
March 30 2006

'"The Amazing Race," which has been struggling a little in the last hour of primetime, is switching nights, bumping two underperforming comedies in the process.

Starting next week, "The Amazing Race" will air at 8 p.m. ET Wednesdays, a switch from its previous spot at 10 p.m. Tuesdays. The ninth edition of the Emmy-winning series has been averaging fewer than 10 million viewers since its Feb. 28 premiere, its lowest figures since the third "Race" in summer 2003.

The switch puts it into a fairly wide-open timeslot where no show has been dominant in recent weeks. NBC has had success there with "Deal or No Deal" the past couple of weeks, and FOX's "Bones" has performed solidly as well, but neither one dominates the hour on the level that "American Idol" or "CSI" does.

It also puts the family-friendly show in a timeslot where more kids are likely to be watching with their parents.

The move of "The Amazing Race" bumps the comedies "Out of Practice" and "Courting Alex" off the schedule; CBS offers only a vague "at a later date" as to when they might be back. Both shows have dropped precipitously since moving from their cozy Monday-night homes earlier in the season.

"Out of Practice," which drew 12.2 million viewers per week in the fall, when it was sandwiched between "Two and a Half Men" and "CSI: Miami," has averaged only 6.6 million since its Wednesday debut last week. "Courting Alex," which occupied the same Monday slot in January and February, has brought in 6.3 million viewers a week in its new home -- half what it was averaging previously.
