Who's watching Weeds on Showtime? What do you think?

I've been watching it since it started. It's interesting. I like the sort of comedy-drama mix. I'm always shocked when the episode is over, because it really feels like it ought to be a one-hour show.

The whole premise is kind of challenging, I think. Is Nancy justified in doing what she does? What's the harm in it? But is it the best way to support a family? Interesting.

Anyone seen the movie Saving Grace? One of my favorites. I thought this was going to feel sort of like a rip-off of that, but it soooo doesn't.

Elizabeth Perkins is pleasing me as Celia. I never really liked her much, but I love her in this. And I see my Angels in America boyfriend Justin Kirk is joining the cast. Nice. And not once has the tip of Mary-Louise Parker's nose annoyed me so far!

I have been downloading the episodes and I have to say, I love this show.

I agree it feels like it should be an hour long show, but the 30 minutes we do get is great. A very funny show.

Elizabeth Perkins is great as Celia. And Mary-Louise Parker is just hot :eyebrow

I am really enjoying the show. I agree, it feels like it should be a full hour, so I feel short-changed when it's over after 30 minutes.

I have mixed feelings about the 'rightness' about the drug thing. I myself, don't smoke, and don't like when my friends do, but for her it pays the bills. It's a little overwhelming that so many characters in Agrestic actually do that, and also, in real life. But, whatever floats your boat.

I really like this show, but it doesn't fit the hole in my heart that Queer As Folk left. ;-)

I watch this show because Mary-Louise Parker is one of my favorite actress.
Is it right what nancy is doing. Well she did not scope out the risk /rewards of her new profession. Is it right that she might leave her children orphans, or that she could go to prison for the rest of her life? People die but you do not have to go out of your way to increase the risk of it.

I was actually surprised that I liked this show. Mary Louise Parker is just yummy! I always wondered what I would be willing to do if I was in a similar position. I think it will be interesting to see how she handles the conflict with in herself. She knows its wrong and she does draw the line (for example not wanting to sell to kids) but she also feels the pressure to support her family. I wish it was longer than a half hour though. I also like how it kind of pokes fun at itself and sterotypes. What really gets me is the theme song, it cracks me up each time I hear it. I think thats why I really started watching it in the first place, that and MLP and EP. Yum

Mary-Louise Parker being in Weeds was a big draw for me to want to watch this show, so our small group that gets together at the one person's house who has Showtime to watch The L Word decided to start watching Weeds as well.

And I'm so happy we did because I think the show is good, and strong. It's such a fun mix of drama and comedy and the situations that people get themselves into - heh.

We talked about whether it was right or wrong, and what options did Nancy have. Get a real job? Well, would she make enough money to keep her family in that house, what skills does she have, has she always been a stay-at-home-mom, etc. I don't know what I think. I suppose some of it goes to whether you think pot should be legal.

I'm actually liking it that the episodes are only 30 minutes because it's not such a huge time commitment to watch the whole thing, and since we don't get together every single week for the show, we can watch two or three without blowing 3 or more hours.

I get the episodes at TorrentSpy.com

The last episode was great. The opening scene with the vibrator was funny. Then Celia (and her breasts) cracked me up :lol

Brooke Langton is in this episode. So damn hot. As is Shoshannah Stern (Megan), so many hot women on this show :eyebrow

From Yahoo...

'Weeds' scores second season on Showtime

By Cynthia Littleton Wed Dec 14,

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - When the stuff is this good, you've just got to have more. That's what Showtime brass have said to writer-producer Jenji Kohan and Lions Gate Television in picking up a second season of "Weeds," which earned three Golden Globe nominations Tuesday, including one for best musical or comedy series.

The series will begin production in the spring on a second season of 12 episodes for debut in the summer. "Weeds" stars
Mary-Louise Parker as a recently widowed soccer mom who resorts to dealing pot in her suburban community to make ends meet. Parker and co-star Elizabeth Perkins also earned Globe nominations for their work in the first season, which bowed in August to strong critical buzz.

For Kohan, the experience with "Weeds" has made her feel like "an overnight success after 15 years." She wrote the pilot on the rebound after having a rough experience with CBS on her short-lived 2004 sitcom "The Stones."

"I just wanted to do something that really existed in the gray areas, where everyone wasn't black and white," Kohan said. "You trade money for freedom in a lot of ways when you go to cable, but it's worth it. It's about your quality of life and the quality of your creation."

Kohan also said she has been pleasantly surprised by how "Weeds" has been received. She was anticipating more of an outcry from anti-drug watchdog groups and the like about her protagonist and her unorthodox profession.

"I guess it goes to show that (marijuana is) more acceptable than we realize," she said. "We were all geared up for a fight, and nothing came."

This show is really funny. A new season should be starting in August or something.

I loved how they ended it with Nancy starting up her own pot ring or whatever they're called. Should be interesting to see what they pull off this season.

I love all the actors, they're great.

I detest this show, I like the actors, i like the acting though some of the kids are too "cute". I think the writing is competent, but the attitude behind the writing is detestible. Corrupt psuedo-intellectual commenting on the nature of corruption. I sure i am hyper-crictical and maybe a little irrational , but i just really don't like paying even a little for this tripe.

The season premiere is tonight.

I really like this show. Happy to see it back.
There's a moment when I look at you. And no speech is left in me.
My tongue breaks, then fire races under my skin.
And I tremble, and grow pale. For I am dying of such love.
