Black Mirror

So pretty much every episode of this show is just so wonderfully crafted and told. I so highly recommend it, and probably spacing out the episodes to give yourself a chance to reflect on each one.

But San Junipero has to be one of the finest pieces of television I've ever watched.

Spoiler:
The 'shock factor' being that there was in fact, no shock and we just got to see them 'living' happily at the end is like the exact anthesis of bury your gays trope. It literally turned it on its head.

Plus Belinda Carlisle's 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth' was a genius, inspired choice. I've been listening to it ever since.

The acting was some of the best of the season and how they staged the backgrounds through the eras was just so pleasurable to watch.

Please tell me some other kittens are as obsessed with Yorkie/Kelly as I am??

Are there any San Junipero fics out there? That should be a thing, if not.

I'm shocked, shocked to find a happy ending in Black Mirror.

The production design for this episode was top notch. Really well done.

I thought some of the writing and direction was a little sticky (could have been the editing--it was a lot to pack in one episode). But, such a good episode--the ladies really sold it. Thematically similar to the Hayley Atwell episode with the dead husband, but so much more hopeful in its outlook. This was a good one. So good.
