*edited to add* Aha, final destination 2, wasn't she a brunette?

Anyone else get a little wistful at the (5 year-old) music at the reunion? (Especially Fatboy Slim) It just reminded me of another TV prom five years ago . . .

OK, recently I volunteered to play Tru's love interest. Seeing as I have limited acting experience (like none), that may have been overly ambitious. My more modest goal: maybe I can be cast as one of Tru's tanktops? :p

GG Especially, like tonight, when WET! :thud Out

Generally speaking, I think I've noticed my appreciation of an ep pretty closely linked to the quantity of time Davis is on screen (and inversely related to the amount of time Luc w/ a c :yawn is on screen). So tonight (Fatboy Slim and wet tanktop aside!) wasn't so hot.

Lindsay the Airhead? You mean, where have you seen the actor on another show? (because I couldn't say). I'd say we see her character in about half the shows (more than Tru's sister, less than Tru's brother)

GG See, I envision this slight change to the opening credits: right at the end, where Eliza is looking all hot and pouty over her mother's grave, it would say "and featuring GG as Tru's Tanktop" Whaddayasay? :devilish Out

WOW... I knew Eliza works out and everything, but... damn! Did you see that six pack! :drool

:thud

The accented boob shot was nice, too. :heart

You know, when Tru was looking for... I can't remember her name right now... but, when she was looking for her former best friend and she ran into the teacher and they went their seperate ways, I kept yelling at the TV, "Turn around Tru!" I never suspected him before that scene, but something made me not trust him.

Next week looks good, too and GG, I have to agree with you about your comment about Davis. I really enjoy the eps where has a pivotal part in them. I was hoping he would have had more air time last night. :(

Oh, well. Till next week. You know, I really wish I would have started taping these eps. :rolleyes Hopefully they'll show them again.

Anyone have any ideas about that?

Postby Gatito Grande » Fri Jan 23, 2004 1:24 pm

Yeah well, another reason I wasn't so crazy about last night's ep, was the obviousness of the plot. When Tru was re-living the day, as soon as Candace said she'd "finished a novel," my mind said "Teacher did it" (though actually, I thought maybe she'd blackmailed him in order to steal his novel---because "Bitch Goddess the Great Writer" didn't seem so believable).

GG The eerie thing, is that I had an English teacher in high school a lot like Mr. . . . was it Curtis? Except him not being a homicidal maniac (I think!) Out

" . . . and in the next ep Tru (Eliza Dushku) wakes to re-live her day, only to find that her tanktop (Gatito Grande, in star-making performance) won't let her get out of bed. The solution is to call Davis, and let him deal with the crisis, while Tru applies every inch :drool of her creative skill on the demanding garment. Next week on Fox!" :p [OK, stopping now, promise ;) ]

Hi GG!

Um, it wasn't just the music that was reminiscent of a certain ME show, but also that fact that it was written by an certain individual named Douglas Petrie!!;)

the wet shirt was definitly the highlight of the show, :D otherwise it was boring and predictable

I totally thought it was going to be the little girl--cause she was hiding under the bed when the fire went on. The fireman one was sad, but I liked seeing it again.

Something interesting that I noticed on my second viewing of the fireman episode - Davis catches Tru looking up information on her mother's death, and then remarks that 1993, the year Tru's mother died, was the year that the death rate in town went way up. It made me remember the episode where Davis told Tru that he knew about her gift - he remarked that the death rate had gone way down.

Could it be that Tru inherited her gift from her mother? Could it be that Davis knew something about it?

I finally downloaded ep 6, the one with the lesbian couple. Great quality download btw, almost DVD quality, and great quality episode as well. Some nice twists to the story. Tru´s investigative techniques have fastly improved since the unaired pilot. I´ll try and download the other eps as soon as possible and catch up.

Thank you, sweetie. I'm DL'ing the episode now. :kiss

WOW... I can't believe I'm going to be the first to comment tonight.

I think and this is just my opinion, but I think tonight's episode was the best so far. Quite the adventure. The continued armed robbery call kind of got my attention. One clue that I should have picked up on earlier.

The ending was sad, but at least one life was saved.

That's all I'm going to say. I can't really comment on anything else, except that... next weeks episode looks awesome as well.

Now, I have a question for you guys. Am I the only one who would happily die to just run my fingers through Eliza's hair?

:thud

I kept thinking "Use your godlike powers, MuaDhib!" ;) (That is, the actor playing the desparate father was the guy who played MuaDhib -sp?- on the Sci Fi channel production of Dune . . . which was muy excellente).

It was a good show tonight: not great, but very good. Really liked Tru's growing alarm as the day kept repeating (Kudos Eliza!). As she kept slipping out on Boring Luc w/ a C, I kept hoping "Maybe she'll break up w/ him!" :pray But the promise to "tell him all, later" at least means this thing keeps on keeping on. :yawn

GG And gee, just when I'm set to get my Big Acting Break in playing one of those tanktops Tru sleeps in :drool . . . she stops wearing 'em! :happy (No, I mean she slept in a top w/ sleeves, not . . . :eyebrow ) Out

Re: Tru Calling

Physically, he's not my type (don't like those deer-in-the-headlights eyes) . . . but it's not as if I don't know that's in the eye of the beholder!

No, he's just B-O-R-I-N-G. He certainly seems convenient for Tru, but what does he really do for her? (OK, if you wanna assume he's G.I.B, fine ;) ) He's just not interesting. At least, he hasn't been written that way thus far (and I'm far from convinced the actor could play him interesting if he was, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt there).

Of all the people around Tru, the only one I like is her boss Davis---but at least her brother is interesting. Her sister is interesting. Even her airhead friend has a certain level of interest (if only because, how could Tru have a bestfriend who's an airhead? Plus, I'm definitely convinced the friend is written that way: the actress is just fine). But Luc? Not so much.

This may also just be a personal preference, but "nice" ain't enough to me when it comes to a romantic partner. It's a very excellent thing---maybe required---just not sufficient. How does he appeal to Tru's mind in any discernible way? She's both a pre-med, and an amateur undercover detective, f'Chrissake: Girl's Got Brains! (Inside that :thud -ful body: no wonder I'm in love! :heart )

GG YMMV! Out
