THANK YOU J uk! :bigkiss

Tru's mom was killed 10 . . . no, I think make that 11 years ago now (IIRC, the pilot said 1993).

GG Was anyone else thinking "Just 'bring on' Kirsten Dunst and Tsianina Joelson, and get that Kick Ass cheerleading squad back together again!" :bounce Out

this was a interesting episode. i liked seeing Clare Kramer again, her character reminded me a little of the one she played in Bring it On, and Eliza look great in that red dress. i wonder what the connection between Davis and Tru's mom is, did she work in the morgue too?

looking forward to next weeks show with Jason Priestly on it

Marc Caine and Donna at the Tru Calling Yahoo! newsgroup have had e-mail confirmations from Sky that Tru Calling will be shown this April! The series will begin Tuesday April 13th on Sky One, at 8pm just before Angel. It’ll then be shown every week at that time, with repeat showings on Saturdays at 6pm.

Tonight's ep

Postby Gatito Grande » Thu Mar 25, 2004 10:37 pm

. . . was sadly predictable. Who didn't smell her scumbag father a mile away (certainly no later than his chilling "Don't get boxed in" urgings to Harrison). Tru needs to answer the Clue Phone, and tell her stepmom to grab the kids and run.

Old mystery: why doesn't Tru sit down w/ Davis and say "Tell me EVERYTHING you know about me, my mother, our powers, etc. etc." There's obviously still more there at this point.

New mystery: Jason Priestly, of course. Did he not like being brought back (like one of those "Wrongful Life" lawsuits one heard about a few years back, by patients who had had their "DNR"s ignored)?

Oh well, guess you can't have ED in a red dress every week . . . (but why not? ;) )

GG And lookie: It's "General Forehead Guy" again! :rolleyes Out

it was an ok episode, i hope it comes out why Tru's dad wanted her mom killed, did he know what she could do

Jason Priestly's character seems interesting, i wonder if he is going to interfere with Tru trying to help people

4/1 Episode

Postby Gatito Grande » Thu Apr 01, 2004 8:56 pm

Awright, excellent episode! Actually, several times I thought "Hey, where's Eliza?" but the plot was so good, that I enjoyed the ED-free scenes as well.

Y'know, I thought Michelle the Reporter, and Jack (Jason P) might be working together, but the scene where they met sez No. How is the still-living Michelle gonna try to mess w/ Tru next? (And next week: how is Jack messing w/ Tru's re-wind?)

So, Davis (aka "D" ;) ) is in love w/ Tru, there's little doubt, right? (Handing out jewelry---w/ sentimental value no less!---always a danger sign! :p ) But there's still more he knows about Tru and her mom and her powers, IMO.

The mystery deepens! :hmm

GG Harrison's gambling is really getting old though. :yawn Out

Re: 4/1 Episode

Postby Jennpurr » Thu Apr 01, 2004 9:42 pm

I'll second what, GG said.

Davis is very intriguing, to say the least. I think you're right... I think he may have some feelings for Tru. I see them getting closer. It would be a long shot, but I have a feeling that they may be pushing them closer together for a reason. :hmm

I have a creepy feeling about Jack. He definitely knows more than we think he does. I have a eerie feeling that Jack has some abilities of his own. Why else would he be right on every bet that Harrison made? :eyebrow Could be my wishful thinking though.

I'm loving Eliza more and more with every episode! :heart

Next week looks very interesting.

Re: 4/1 Episode

Okay, here comes some speculation...

If we assume that Tru's power comes from this show's version of the "PTB", what if Jack has a similar power that comes from the "demonic" powers of this universe? Consequently, that would mean that his "mission" is to frustrate Tru's mission!:eek I mean, think about it: she tries to prevent Harrison from going to the track, Jack takes him; she tries to prevent Michelle from going to the diner, Jack sends her there. I think I'm beginning to see a pattern here....:hmm

I'm sure everyone also noticed this quote (Jack to Tru): "You can't take care of everybody." Sounds suspicious to me.....:hmm

Hemi, that's the rumor I heard (at the time JP's joining the cast was announced). But since I wasn't sure whether or not it was a spoiler, I didn't want to post it here.

Usually, when an (reasonably attractive) opposite sex co-star is brought in to a show, you wonder whether the producers have a romantic relationship in mind. His being Tru's Nemesis is far more interesting, IMO. :clap

GG Of course, relationships being the complicated lil' buggers they are, "Nemesis" does not necessarily preclude romance, I might add. :hmm Out

ELIZA DUSHKU SAYS "WILL DO" PHILADELPHIA

Angel & Buffy Star Confirms She Will Appear at Wizard World Philadelphia

Currently appearing as lifesaver Tru Davies in Fox’s “Tru Calling” Eliza Dushku will be appearing Saturday May 22nd at Wizard World Philadelphia. OH! YEAH!

Eliza is known to most fanboys as Faith the rogue slayer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Does anybody else look as good kicking demon butt? And in leather pants!

The vision of her in a leather catsuit in “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” will be forever burned into her fans’ memories, along with not one, but two movies as a cheerleader: “Bring It On” and “The New Guy.” But she can also take a sensitive turn opposite Robert DeNiro in “City By the Sea.” Whether it’s a sensitive role or major butt kicking there is no doubt that we love her!

Members of our crowd control staff are already arguing over who gets to be her escort in Philadelphia. Steel Cage matches are being planned. See you in Philly!

Jack is the evil leaper.

I liked the first episode with him, not because of him, but because of Tru's dad at the end. It was the first ep that had caught my interest in a good long while.

This week was back to being boring again though.

The preview for next week looked interesting, but I've long since given up being able to tell if something is going to be good just from a preview.

Huh. I had the opposite reaction, Bytr (episode w/ father was weak and predictable, last week's much better). I'm looking forward to this week as well: it's good to see more variation in Tru's powers (like, their not working in some way). Makes her more human, and the plot less repetitive.

GG Damn! Wish I could be in Philly. :drool Out

heehee, Gatito Grande picked up on it. Tru called Davis 'D'! How funny is that. And with everyone asking Tru, "How are you?", it wont be long before she responds, "Five by Five!".

Too bad since Eliza has so clearly moved on as has most of the other actors. I think that the ones with talent will be able to drop the Buffy label.

Wrongda / Eliza in Birmingham, UK

Postby tyche » Wed Apr 07, 2004 1:22 pm

Wrongda had some Tru Calling spoilers in her chat this week.

Also, Eliza will be appearing at the Birmingham Memorabilia Fair in the UK later this month. Here's the story from the BBC's Cult TV site:

I think that might be a little premature. It could become a cult series: ED certainly had the charisma to make it so. But the writing's not quite there yet, I would say.

Oh no, that cannot be good. I deeply dislike Harrison. I am so very tired of his "look at my boyish charm aren't I the loveable little rascal" act. He's a corrupt selfish whiny brat who can only think of his own personal gain. Get rich easy without having to work for it is his life's motto and he does not shy back from using his family and loved ones to get there. This may sound harsh, but I know the type very well, I know someone just like him, only without the annoying ridiculous three chin hairs.

This Thursday, "Tru Calling" will get American Idol as it's lead in:

Reality TV World
Quote:
Fox has cut the [American Idol] Thursday results show, which will start at 8 PM EDT, down to 30 minutes. The change was made so that Tru Calling (featuring Tamyra Gray) can begin at 8:30 and hopefully keep some of the Idol viewers from switching to the last 30 minutes of CBS's Survivor: All-Stars or the start of NBC's The Apprentice at 9.
Hopefully, this will strnegthen the ratings gains that Tru has had the last few eps and help the show survuve this season.
