If anyone wants pics and a clip from Part 3, I've now got one clip here. It's a scene with Flo (Jodhi May) and Nan. :) Just go to my Tipping The Velvet page, and click on "Part 3".

The clip requires Quicktime 6, so IF the clip won't work when you download it, get the latest Quicktime player from here. Hope that helps!

And I agree with the other comments about Jodhi. I loved her in Last of the Mohicans (that movie made me cry). She's really gorgeous.

Scoobiedoo, no probs :) I don't know if/when it will come to Australia, but I think that after this article in today's Sunday Telegraph newspaper (pg 113) it's chances may be improving for a lot of countries outside the UK! How's this for a good news story...

"BBC bosses were expecting an avalanche of complaints following the airing of Tipping The Velvet, a 1890s drama about London's hidden lesbian scene.

Instead, they received just 10 calls, half of which complained that the so called explicit lesbian sex scenes were too tame.

Based on the 1998 book by Sarah Waters, Tipping The Velvet tells the story of a Whitstable (a town in Kent) oyster girl who falls in love with Kitty, a music hall star.

Although one critic said that scenes in the high profile drama would "have Queen Victoria turning in her grave", Tipping The Velvet, while totally absorbing, was far from low rent. Indeed, the three part drama series was a masterful production that only hinted at sex. The script was brilliant and the storyline power packed with emotional drama.

Tipping The Velvet has been winning accolades all week and without doubt will be one of the year's most successful television series."

Sorry thought you meant uk Sunday Telegraph. Would be suprised to see such a positive report of a programme with content like TTV in that. But then I could be wrong! It's just it's not the most liberal of papers.

witchfoo it's totally ok :) I don't know if our Sunday Telegraph is that liberal either, but I guess it's not too bad. I hope that article encourages Australian TV stations to buy the rights to air Tipping :)



Hanki, lol. I know! And Part 1. I mean, no-one expects x-rated stuff on TV. But relative to other mini-series, TTV seems fairly racy.



And Kendahl897 yeah UK is PAL. USA uses NTSC. But many newer VCRs can play both NTSC and PAL.

Just thought I'd let UK kitties know that the Guardian's media section had a story on sex on TV today. They illustrated it with a publicity pic of Nan and Kitty that I hadn't seen before .. and Kitty is very obviously staring at Nan's breasts. (Unfortunately, Nan is looking in the other direction.) I can't scan it b/c it's across 2 pages of the paper and the quality wouldn't be too good, but I thought I'd mention it...

tyche, are you talking about the publicity pic with nan and kitty in their skimpy costume glory and red background? cos if you are i think it was actually nan who was staring at kittys assets, so to speak.



Either way it doesn't bother me, i am a frequent viewer of the forbidden hills and valleys *eyes glazing over*



Nan was as beautiful as ever. I prefer her scary-dildoless and that top she wore round the house, the cream one with many many undone buttons was just...titalating.



Also i thought Flo was gorgeous, she really has an air of beauty surrounding her. One of my favourite scenes of the whole series was when they got back from the bridge, the snow falling outisde and a yellow glow filling the room. Nan and Flo inches apart, their breathing deep, raspy and audible as they tried to stay quiet but failing as their evident passion leaked out. Nan clasping Flo's hand and Nan's breathing quicken as Flo placed her hand over her breast. It was one of the sexist scenes ever.



Also the scenes when Nan was very no so discretly looking at her face and neck i almost fainted. I guess i have a fetish for necks...and collarbones...and breasts...and tummies...and the valley in between breasts...nice eyes are a must too...as is a sexy mouth...ok im gettin carried away. The list of desirable female anatomy is far to long and if i had the chance i would talk about it forever.

i think i use the word sexy too much when talking about Flo and Nan but what other words are there? Perhaps...delicious or tantilising...im hungry.

kendahl897, sorry you couldn't get that TTV clip. (I guess you've already tried right-clicking and choosing "save target as". Another way is to use a download manager thingy like getright - just paste the link into that, and it downloads.) I never know which format to make clips in coz they all seem to cause probs for different people especially when it comes to the millions of confusing "codecs" out there....

I'm so glad they keep the motif of people cheering when Nan and Flo kissed from the book (in the ice skater clip)... I was afraid that moment was going to be lost in the series... I'm glad they managed to work it in.
