Thank you, TarotX for posting that article. It's not often that you read articles about Charmed.

In your last sentence, did you mean, "Holly actually remains close to both women?"

Just curious.

That would seem likely, it´s just a slip of the tongue, or fingers in this case. Hmm, that sounds smutty somehow.

An interesting article. Nice to see them speaking their mind and no sparing the producers either or making things sound prettier than they are. This reminds me of Aly and SMG and the rumors about them not getting along. So what, it happens, both are talented and popular and from what can be observed very likeable and kind women, yet they don´t seem to get along. Boo hoo, I wish the media would just let it be and not try to blow up into something it is not. It´s not like there aren´t enough soap operas to watch.

Season Finale

Postby Jennpurr » Sun May 16, 2004 8:26 pm

OMG... OMG... OMG... OMG....

Did anyone watch the Finale tonight?

:shock

:banana

:bow

The finale rocked! WOW... it kept me on the edge of my seat, that's for sure. I don't even know where to start with this.

Hee... the little boy who plays Wyatt is so darned adorable! :heart So cute!

Chris dying made me cry. That was so sad. I kind of had a feeling that things would be okay, but I was still very upset.

Oooooh... and did Holly look absolutely gorgeous, or what? :love There's something about pregnant women that I find very sexy. Too bad I couldn't touch her tummy.

I can't wait to see what will happen next season, especially if the rumor of Shannen Doherty possibly being in the Season Seven premiere are true. I wonder, if she is there, what she will be doing and how they are going to handle Prue's re-appearance?

Anyway... I'm not sure what else to say here. I might have to go back and watch this again. I'm glad I taped it.

It was quite a finale, that's for sure. And there's a whole mess o' repercussions in the offing next year, I'm sure.

I hadn't heard the Shannen Doherty rumor. I don't see how they'd have a problem pulling it off, though. If Mom and Grams can drop in from time to time, surely Prue can as well.

I had found a lot of this season of Charmed pretty disappointing, but the last 5-6 episdes were definitely all improvements. And the finale was very good. I loved the parts with Leo and him finally getting to do something active and settle the question of what was most important to him. It seems like he and Piper are on the mend and I have to say that I liked the way that was done, slow, agonizing, but it seemed more natural than say the way Tara came back to Willow as an afterthought so she'd be there to get killed without really addressing the issues. There will be more for Leo and Piper to talk about, but at least this seems like it was done right. And though there are some loose ends for next year, they also have a lot of freedom to do whatever they want to do. Hopefully it will be in a cool, interesting direction.

And though I didn't like Chris much, his death was pretty sad. Again, much more so than Tara's which was too obviously just a plot device. Chirs' was more unexpected and felt more natural. I still say the Charmed writers stole all of ME's talent one summer! As for SD returning, enh, I hope it is for a short time only, the show wasn't that great while she was there, whether that was her fault or not, it's still true. It could be an interesting AU guest shot though.

Agreed. The couple of seasons have been disappointing, but the last part of this one with Gideon was well done, and I especially liked how the evil Charmed Ones were working with the good ones instead of focusing on good sister vs evil sister fights.

I disagree here. The last SD season was the best season of Charmed, though I will grant that the following season was excellent too and that they managed to write around her departure in a way that both acknowledged the loss and also took advantage of the potential of re-introducing some of the freshness of the first season with a new Charmed ONe.

Well I really enjoyed the season finale!

Nice wrap-up to the season with just enough for next season.

I feel that Piper and Leo are on the mend, even if Leo does have to answer for killing Gideon.

BTW.

Did anyone else happen to catch the Series Finale of that other WB show?

Well the main bad guys in it were the "The Black Thorn". Did that remind anyone else of Cole's "Brotherhood of the Thorn"? Can it be that Mr. Vision is now stealling from three year old Charmed episodes?

It wouldn't be the first time that Mr. Vision borrowed from Charmed. Heck, the scene that shall never ever be named looked an awful lot like a scene in the Charmed third season finale.

In a month where most season finales were a disappointment, I thought Charmed did a really good job. There are all sorts of issues hanging out there for next season - not just the status of Piper and Leo or Leo killing Gideon, but also the sisters patching things up with Darryl, Phoebe getting her powers back and the fear demon being on the loose again.

One thing that occurred to me is that with Gideon dead, the magic school will need a new Elder to run it. Maybe Leo can take over that job, which would allow him to be near his family. I don't know what they'll do to him for killing Gideon - it can be argued that he had to do it, since a good being had to commit an act of great evil to re-balance the universes.

Very true Bob.

In fact after watching that other series finale (why not, it's over now!) my wife looked at me and said, "well that sucked!"

We felt like Charmed ended on a very high note. The writers did a great job and while this was not the best Charmed season ever (3 or 4 gets that nod) it was still really good.

Also this is a good object lesson to other writers out there that YES you can have an actress get pregnant and it wont derail your damn precious plot or vision.

Most people I have talked to about it are very optimistic about Season Seven. Wow, when would you think that those words strung together would ever appear on this board?? :lol

Charisma talks to SciFi Wire about her upcoming Charmed appearance:

Quote:
Carpenter will guest-star this fall as a clairvoyant in at least two episodes of The WB's witch series Charmed. (Her first appearance airs Sept. 26, TV Guide reported.) As with Cordelia, Carpenter agains plays "another psychic!" she said. "At least I'm not in a coma on this show. They're both sassy girls, but this character is more of a temptress than a smartass. She's toying with Leo (Brian Krause)."

As for whether her character, simply called "Seer," appears in more episodes, Carpenter said: "I'm happy to do more. It would depend on whether my pilot is picked up. I'm thrilled to be here, because I have a relationship with Holly Marie Combs [Piper]. We did my ABC Family movie See Jane Date together, and we're both new moms. It's also interesting to be back doing this supernatural genre. I know it, and it's familiar."

The full article also has some details on the pilot she just did, and also some (very welcome, as far as I'm concerned) comments on a certain other show that shall remain nameless...

And like many of the other actresses (Ms. Benson anyone?) she has discovered that her fans are *her* fans and they will follow her.

Personally I think this is great. I watch Charmed anyway, but I am expecting to see a small up tick in the Nielsen's for her episodes.

Very much looking forward to this.

CC looked great even I felt she was underused a bit. But we will see more of her so that is fine with me.

Enjoying the season so far, but I can't stand Nick Lachey.

Re: Charmed

Postby Garner. » Mon Sep 27, 2004 2:56 pm

Actually I've liked this season more than I did the last one at this point. The new guy is not great, but I disliked the person playing Chris a lot more.

Probably the most interesting thing they've done is take the character that was the most noble and good, Leo, and made him dark and while not evil, exactly, have made him morally ambiguous at the moment at least. And yet they haven't broken his character, nor totally destroyed his ties to his friends, nor killed his love. Hmmmn. I still think there will be ramifications to Leo having killed the second elder further down the road. That he wasn't under his own influence, Shiva and Barbas being involved too, will mitigate things, but I do think they'll deal with it.

So far this season has been much more interesting and dynamic than last year's. CC was great, especially her second spot on screen. Definitely underused, but about what I expected. She didn't die and will be on again, so at least that is good. I hope they use her a bit more next time.

I also like that they have done a good job with the kids and not let them steal the show, nor ignored them entirely. That's a hard thing to pull off.
