Ah well it was easy to see by the way the moms, daughters and younger siblings looked that Mac and Madison were switched (good casting btw), but Madison does not resemble her birthmom characterwise I think. She did come across mildly airheaded, just enough to show some resemblance to Madison aside from the blond hair, but she was very friendly and caring, the total opposite of her biological daughter who was raised by another seemingly friendly and caring mother. I think Mac appreciated her parents a little better at by the end of the episode. They are her parents no matter what, but she was clearly drawn to her biological mother as well. I think she could maintain a good relationship with both sets of parents. Madison on the other hand will probably go apoplectic if she finds out her ´real´ mommy and daddy do not live in a palace.

I do not believe Veronica herself was switched at birth, maybe this part of the story just served the purpose of reminding us of her feelings and uncertaintly, but I do hope they follow up on it, if only because I want to see Mac again. She and Veronica make good friends I think.

That sheriff needs to get his come-uppance soon though. They have made him so over the top arrogant and incompetent and borderline evil that I cannot stand much more of him.

No surprise here, I really liked this ep too. Great to see Mac again, and it would be fun if they made her a frequent guest star, maybe they could follow up on the web-site idea with her and Veronica. I loved the scene near the end with Mac and her birth mother putting their hands on each other's through the glass. And then Mac returning to the mother and father she grew up with and clearly loves too. I was a little surprised that Mac hadn't been told the whole story by her parents, clearly she is old enough and mature enough to handle it. Not Madison of course, she seems pretty hopeless.

I also appreciated how they made the young cop (Leo) a very likeable character when a lesser show would have made him an uninteresting fool for Veronica to wrap around her finger. Nice to see Weevil even for a minute, and the strangler stroyline was a decent subplot. The real strength of the show though, besides the writing, continues to be Veronica herself. Kristin is great, isn't she?

She surely is. I don´t know the actress, but I have yet to come across one thing about Veronica that is not likeable. I am not looking for it, just my way of saying she kicks ass.

I really loved this episode too. The whole digging up dirt on parents was hilarious, kinda expecting the parents to show up to pay veronica to stop. Also liked veronica letting that 'head-of-security" guy know he's on her hit list now. Next week, Veronica vs. a secret society. Feel sorry for the secret society.

Oh-jeez-the last scene of this ep. I sure hope logan's mom didn't jump. In one ep-the show's got me feeling sympathy for logan(who's gone from this jerk, to a kid who's just hurting inside). But really loved veronica turning the table's on the Tritans(even though they turned out to be innocent). Love how this show does that.

Veronica:"Sheriff, read what it says on that fifty."

Sheriff:"Veronica Mars is....smarter than me."

LOL, at that one. Another great episode with some great character revelations.

I really enjoyed this episode. I loved when Veronica ran out of the school and then ran up over the trunk of her car and landed in the passenger seat. That was just a lot of fun to see.

Heh, Karaoke. That was awesome.

I can't wait til Reefer Madness airs in April or whenever it's airing on Showtime. I bet Kristen Bell kicks tons of ass in that.

I thought this episode was one of the best in a while. Some great lines--"Say repressed homosexuality!"--and a more complex plot with many threads I assume will be followed up on in the future.

One of the things I liked about the Karaoke scene is that they kept it in character. They didn't make Veronica into someone who can suddenly sing at a professional level, but someone who can certainly carry a tune and puts the rest of the song over with "acting".

I think, though I'm not sure, that Kirsten Bell can actually sing better than that, which makes me even more impressed with her performance. It's hard for someone who knows how to do something well to do it less-so on purpose.

As for Reefer Madness, well, I saw a clip from it when Bell was on a talk show. Let's just say the lesbians and straight boys will be happy with some of her wardrobe. :kdevil

Yes, I saw the same talk show where they showed the Reefer Madness clip. I believe this is the appropriate smiley :thud

I really thought they moved the Lilly murder investigation along in this ep, with Veronice picking up a lot of information, about Weevil, Duncan and others. I expect Logan's Mom will be missing, but who knows if she jumped. Or was pushed. Or didn't go off the bridge at all. And I wonder what Logan's Dad used as an alibi for the Lilly murder. He wasn't even on my suspect list before, but now...

I liked that Veronica got locked in the trunk and had to call for help, and I loved the way she figured out the locker exchange. And the Karoke scene was priceless, she does Blondie perfectly.

I´d say she does it better. I hope they find another excuse to let her sing. Great episode. Seems like Duncan is the most likely suspect now with him not remembering the days around the murder. Makes sense that his parents would try and protect him, which in turn makes them look suspicious. It is almost too obvious so maybe this is a ruse to keep us guessing.

Okay, I read this as a rumor so I decided not to post it over at Witches and Vixens but I heard that Alyson may be playing Logan's sister. The only thing that confused me was that Alyson is going to be on her new sitcom so I don't see how she's doing both. Unless it's only a one ep thing. How awesome is that though? When I found out I screamed like a school girl.

I'm going out on a limb here and say it hasn't aired yet. Because, let's just say I'm pretty sure I'd remember that outfit too. Thanks for posting those. Hope they start running new ep's again soon, looking forward to seeing that ep and seeing Aly on the show too - how great is that going to be?

That's what I thought too, She's doing the early Madonna look and he's doing "Risky Business" Tom Cruise. It might be just a dream sequence rather than a party, either way I hope she sings again. If she can do Debbie Harry better than the original she should have no problem with the Material Girl.

This week is another repeat by the way, but next week is new. I have no idea if it is the ep the pics are from however. Aly will be on the Feb. 22 ep. (And hopefully a few more.)

Actually as it turns out those pics are from Aly's episode "Russkie Business". I posted the Aly pics on the Witches and Vixens board already but here's 1 of them that clearly shows it's the same ep. I'm guessing it's an 80's themed school dance.

I am so glad to finally find a board that is discussing Veronica Mars. I don't know why more people aren't. I have been hooked since the first episode. I am glad they are planning to solve Lily's murder by the end of the season. If they drug it out longer then solving it would be 'jumping the shark,' but by finishing that storyline this season it should be safe. I am concerned about how her families status in the town might change if it is revealed that her dad was right all along, or at least closer to right. It could potentially through off the dynamic of the show by changing their outsider status. So I am concerned and interested to see how they pull this off successfully.

On a different note I am thrilled that Aly is going to be on the show. I wonder how they are going to write her character. From the pic it appears that she is ushering Logan out of the school. Maybe he is drunk and she is trying to get him out of there. Being a protective big sis. That would be cool. Maybe here character isn't as messed up as he seems to be. I wouldn't be surprised if she has shown up because their mom either killed herself or tried to.

I am so looking forward to new eps!

Hey there, welcome to this board. :) I am looking forward to the next episodes as well. It took me a few episodes but I really got hooked on this show. Aly being on it, is only icing on the cake. I am betting on Duncan being the killer, eventhough his black outs make that a bit obvious, it makes sense all around, like why Jake Kane would be tampering with evidence and such.

From the Chicago Tribune:

www.chicagotribune.com/ne...&cset=true

MARS ATTACKS: Starting Feb. 22, Alyson Hannigan is set to guest on the UPN detective show, playing the sister of the Logan Echolls, a high schooler who's concerned about the disappearance of his mother.

"She'll be Logan's older sister, Trina," Thomas says. "Logan believes his mom is still alive. He asks Veronica for help in finding her. They find that his mom's credit card is still active, and then they spot this woman from behind - she's in his mom's clothes. Logan spins her around, and it's his sister."

Re: last night's ep

Postby seurat » Wed Feb 09, 2005 2:58 pm

Not one of the best episodes last night, it seems to me anyway. The "kidnapping" plot was ok and as always I appreciated Veronica doing her investigative thing (loved her reaction to being called scrawny) and I was glad to see that they didn't have the father cave in and do what his daughter wanted right away, it was more realistic to have him hesitate. But this did feel lke an ep that was kind of filling in time until they get to more about the Lilly murder and Logan's mom's disappearance - and of course, Aly's guest shot!

I wonder whether last night's ep wasn't the result of some pressure from UPN to up the "black" quotient of the show. Her crack about being "very serious about my urban street cred" or whatever it was sounded like it might have been an in-joke to me.

I mean I have no way of knowing, but it did seem kind of off-key for VM (but well done), and that might explain it.

Otherise I mostly agree agree with Seurat, adding only that oddly enough the b-story (Logan's mom) felt less like filler than the a-story.

Oh, and thank god they stopped running those bumpers that gave away the flipping end of the show 15 minutes in advance.

Ok, that was more like it. Both of our mysteries, invovlving Lily and Logan's mom, got moved along significantly. I'm still not completely convinced that she jumped off the bridge but it doesn't look good. And it was obvious that the man convicted of Lily's murder was a fall guy, now we know why he agreed to it. As usual I was really impressed with the supporting cast in this one and the writing overall. It would be nice to find out once in a while however that a teacher who seems great actually is great instead of a miserable excuse for a human being, since in real life there are actually far more great hardworking and inspiring ones. Loved Veronica in the medical office, especially the "petite" line and the way they played the final scene with the nurse. And next week - Aly.

One thing I liked about last night's ep was that they found a way for both Mars detectives to be right. The teacher was guilty and his accuser was lying. Much better than having either Veronica or her dad "win" over the other.

I really liked the episode. Some questions got answered and still more got raised. I thought the figure falling from the bridge looked a bit too big, but I doubt that boy manipulated the video, so something fell off that bridge and I believe it was her. If she wanted to be assumed dead then using her own credit card seems a bit unlikely. Wouldn´t she have prepared better, left some secret stash somewhere. Would she really let her son believe she is dead? Maybe his dear sister has been using mommy´s credit card. One more week and we´ll find out.
